Piggy for sale, 400-500lb Hampshire/Duroc sow - Hereford

Oink oink. -
Do it. I switched to feathers a few years ago just to see how they did. I encourage you to try them. I found that while I liked the lightness and flight characteristics, they get beat up during year round shooting from my 70lb compound. Feathers lack the durability of plastic. I found I had to refletch every few hundred shots. I shoot plastic until it's time to get serious, then it's a switch back to feathers in time for the hunt.

One of many hikes (breaks). We are not sure if hiking helped him sleep or ruined his sleeping. We did many midnight walks when he wouldn't sleep any other way.

That Kelty looks nice. The only good thing about living near 5mil peeps is the stuff they sell on craigslist. For 100 bones, buy it and if it doesn't work out, sell it. Repeat until you, your kid and the hills agree.

Between my wife and I, our 21mo old has about 2000mi in a pack. We started with a few different front wraps, then an Ergo, first in front then back. When our son was about 15lbs we tried a few different hand me down backpacks. The Deuter Kid Comfort III is the no question winner. All other backpacks have gone to good homes where they are used much less often and much less hard than we need. Drop me a note if you want to talk. Or if you down south, let me know and we'll get out for a nice hike out our back door.

She loves everyone dead or alive. Dead, she'll eat you up no questions asked. Alive, you are the hands that feed her. -

I have no idea about butchers around here. Come on down and we can cut her up. -
Azgfd reg p.99, "SHOOTING HOURS Legal shooting time is during daylight hours (see sunrise-sunset chart on page 105) or as prescribed by the Commission (see individual Commission Orders). In general, if you can see well enough to shoot safely, you are legal. Taking wild animals or birds by moonlight or artificial light is illegal, except for raccoons, reptiles and other mammals as prescribed in R12-4-304, page 126. Other time requirements apply for migratory birds (see Migratory Bird Regulations)."

Any chance you get south to Sierra Vista or even Tucson?

I have a friend heading to hunt in SA in a few months. He thinks he has worked out getting his rifle there and back, but wants to know about taking his silencer on the hunt. Does anyone have experience or knowledge about taking a silencer to South Africa, and getting it back to the US? Thanks.

Great. Thanks for the photos. -
Wow. Neat. Where was this and why was it happening?

Thanks for the info so far. Somebody else told me that many SA guides supply their hunters with suppressors. My buddy is checking with the guide as what their policies are. More to follow. Thanks.

Darn good story, but I have to question your sanity!!! You, "I decided to fire a round way over their heads and make a hastily retreat."

Good info. Have you read the muzzle brake test at http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/08/21/muzzle-brake-summary-of-field-test-results/ If anyone is down south and wants to demo a suppressor, let me know. I have a few in stock.

These are not really pranks. Destruction of property at your expense? Harassment? Probably a lawyer could come up with many more laws broken. The same bad kids likely do many other worse things. They need help breaking their bad habits. What are you going to do with the video or photo evidence if the cops won't get involved now? It sounds like you know who is doing it already. These are crimes done by criminals. Get the law involved or continue to play games. Everyone will be better off when the kids know that there are repercussions. Quit messing around before the deviants advance to worse things and end up in the real clink.

Have you asked the cops for help? Where are you? I have a few trail cams you can borrow, and I bet we could get a few more from folks here. Do you want to catch or deter? Send a couple perps to jail for a night or two and I bet you would see a slow down in activity.

The bear that found the fawn

I'll have to talk to the rancher down the street to see if he will build a mud pit for his cattle to "play" in. Great idea! -
I haven't seen as much bear scat this year as in years past. The wet weather? Abundant acorn crop? Fewer local bears? Nevertheless, I came across some scat that was more interesting than any other I have seen. Anyone else have interesting poop-finds?

NOTAGS, where is this? -
I had the same question. I asked and G&F told me that the points are in the system once you receive your card, but the online part of our accounts is only updated 3-4 times a year. I offered to update the online accounts more often than that. The woman said I probably couldn't do that. Oh well... She told me to trust that the points are in there. Perfect.

Cool. Congrats!

Wow. Congrats. And nice write up.

I am still not seeing much action down south. I don't believe the snow did much to change what deer were already doing. Most of the snow is gone from the south and east slopes, and below 5000ft not much left at all.

Great. Congratulations to your daughter! And make sure that everyone in New York knows that there are NO guns at West Point. None.
