    Courtney shooting 500 meters

Awesome! What caliber is that? She handles the recoil quite well.

    Got my 260 put together.

Great looking gun and it looks like it shoots nicely too! Any more shooting progress or range time? How do you like the suppressor?

That is sweet! Do you have any more nice photos?
  4. Like everyone else posted, there are bunches of nice 35A spots to find critters. Post is nice, but it gets overrun with yahoos during the gun hunts. Good luck and enjoy out there! I don't have the opportunity to enjoy this year's hunt so post a bunch of photos and stories to keep me entertained (an sane!) From the 2013-2014 Ft Huachuca Hunt Fact Sheet: I. WHO CAN HUNT ON POST? A. All active and retired military personnel (worldwide), their spouses, and legal dependents 10 years old or older. Arizona requires a 30-day residence for military personnel before an Arizona Hunting License may be purchased. B. Full-time Civil Service and Non-appropriated Fund employees of Ft Huachuca, their spouse and legal dependents 10 years old or older. Proof of civilian status requires showing a Ft Huachuca Identification Card. Having a Ft Huachuca permit from a previous year is not sufficient proof of eligibility. C. A valid Arizona licensed hunter and Ft Huachuca permit holder who is 21 years or older may sponsor 2 guest hunters for a 72 hour period. The start of the 72 hour period begins when the guest hunter signs his permit.A sponsor is authorized 5 guest hunts per year. Sponsors are required to validate their responsibility for the guest(s) by countersigning on the guest(s) permit OR to sign a statement provided by the Sportsman Center guaranteeing their guest hunter's competence with hunter safety, firearms used on the hunt, and that each guest is in compliance with Arizona and Ft Huachuca Hunting Regulations. A guest hunter is authorized to hunt only upland game birds, rabbits and coyotes. No one who is eligible to hunt on Ft Huachuca under paragraph I.A or B of the Ft Huachuca hunting fact sheet is authorized to hunt as a guest. 1. A guest hunter is required to sign a statement of liability provided by the Sportsman Center in order to receive a guest hunter permit. 2. Guest hunter permit fee is $35.00 per 72 hour period. 3. Guest hunters must register their firearm(s) at the Military Police station (533-3000 or 533-3120) in accordance with FH Reg 190-14. See section II.E. 4. A guest hunter must remain within visual and voice range of the sponsor at all times while hunting. 5. A guest hunter may hunt with more than one sponsor, but may not exceed four hunts for the year. All guest hunter requirements apply for each sponsor.

Have the WT in southern units droped yet?

As you know, a shedded boy looks like a girl from a bit away, but I continue to see the coues boys in 35a with full headgear as of yesterday. last evening I saw a spike, fork and might have been a decent 4x4 coues that have not dropped yet. All these were 4900-5300ft. It could be the higher boys have shed though, I have not been up high in a few weeks.

Did you actually get $65 each?
  9. Since the March bears thread was a good one, and its April now, how about the bear updates here! I was up and out in the Huachucas yesterday and did not see any bear sign at all. Above 7000ft there is still a small amount of snow on north faces. The melt is keeping water flowing but I suppose its still cold enough at night to keep the green shoots from growing and becoming bear food. Manzanitas are still blooming high up and the oaks are beginning to push out new leaves up to about 6500. Above that I did not see any new oak buds. The deer are still wearing antlers. The bear sightings must be coming soon.

    April bears

I still have not seen any bear sign down here in the Huachucas, 35A. I saw a nice buck still wearing both sides, and a little spike with both sides. The does coatsd are looking pretty ratty as the shed some winter hair. But no bear sign yet! Its gotta be soon.

    Kissing jakes

I caught a couple jakes making out this afternoon in 35A. The foreplay lasted about 10min then they went about there own way. The man of the flock watched from afar. The 10 or so hens paid no attention.

5 Years of Shed Hunting... First Elk Set

Congratulations! I suppose not that you broke the proverbial ice, and sheds will nearly find you! A shed or two every five years seems realistic to me who does not live in elk-land. Everyone who posts the "look at the 12 sheds I found this weekend" keeps my jaw dropped. I need to move to elk-land!

I love Julie!! Look what she found this time :)

Good girl Julie! Great find. And Julie and the rack look even better in real life. Nice to meet you, Paul and Tony down south. Talk later. Matt
