Best Offroad/ Hyway tires for Coues Country
bmf1321 replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I just bit the bullet and put a set of 35" hankook mt's for my dodge 1500. I've been very impressed with the on road performance of the tires thus far. I have previously ran BFG at and mt and also big o at. These hankooks handle the road and run smoother than any of them have before and appear more aggressive and off road ready than any of the tires I have run previously. I haven't had them out in the dirt/ rocks yet but am weager to see how they perform and hold up. So far, I am very impressed though. -
Cool video. What type of video camera are you using?

Are these at the actual store or online?

I'm pretty sure that this is also ILLEGAL you can not permanently attach anything to a tree sure ya want to try to keep your camera safe but its still notthe right thing to do! A lag bolt can be removed. Wouldn't this make it non permanent? Just a thought.

I have had luck by using arrows, rocks, backpack whatever, to mark the spots you see blood. look very, very closely for specs of blood on all the rocks and grass around and then mark the latest found blood with the oldest marker. you will see the general direction he is heading. look at the terrain and what he was looking at as he passed through. where would you go if you were a wounded elk? keep looking for blood. if all else fails guess and start heading that direction looking for sign etc. if that fails head back to your last marker and start again. i wouldn't be so concerned about what the herd did as what the wounded elk did. it sounds like this elk was mortally wounded. slow down, take a breath, and pay very close attention to all the sign around you. you will find this bull. just stay persistent and pay attention to all the details. Good luck. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see this thing. Keep at it!

I have an old Moultrie 6v camera with the alligator clips and want to use a solar panel to power it. Does anyone have experience with this setup? Do I need a battery? If so, does it need to be a rechargable or can I run a standard battery? Does the solar panel recharge the battery or power the unit? Thanks.

I guess I should rephrase then. Has anyone who applied late like me, last day, have their check cashed yet by AZGFD?

I was pulled over by a dps officer on the freeway coming back from my successful elk hunt last year. He asked if he could take some pictures of my bull. He started taking pictures and I asked if he wanted me to pull him out so he can get some better shots. So I did and he took some more pictures with me and the bull on the side of the highway.
