You are in a good unit. Good bucks can be found throughout the unit but like mentioned before the numbers are down. Sounds like you are off to a good start on locations. Keep scouting. You'd be surprised at what you find later in the season, EX: fall, in an area that you wrote off earlier in the season, EX: summer time. Deer behaviors change as the seasons do. If you are having a hard time finding deer, start looking for sign. Something made the sign so this would tell you there are deer in the area and you are just not spotting them up. Finding deer in our type of terrain is certainly different than the hunting you are used to. Keep getting out there and you will fine tune your "western" hunting skills as you gain experience. Feel free to PM me with specific questions if you'd like. I am by no means an expert but have learned a few things the hard way and have spent quite a bit of time in 34b.

Have you looked into badlands 2200? Great pack for the purpose you are needing one for.

What is a good chronograph? I plan on doing the Vortex turrets but do not have a chronograph. I've seen Chrony's for 60-70 bucks. Are these good? I just hate to spend a lot on a machine that will get limited use.

How do you attach the ocular/ rainguard cover to your SLC's? I'm not liking using the Swarovski neck strap to keep them attached. Who has found a better way to keep them with the binos?

Newbie Question about the deer tag draw
bmf1321 replied to Airbusdriver's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
You've bought some gear and done some research. Start shooting the bow. Make shooting the bow natural so when your get your chance at your buck you don't have to think so much about what to do. -
whos ready for the 2011 august archery deer?
bmf1321 replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I had my bow restrung and have been shooting as much as possible the past month. I just hung my first cam of the season today. It looks like someone close to where I set a cam is ready. They already have a tripod stand set up and a cam hung. -
Extruded powders through powder measurer
bmf1321 posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I know extruded powders are known to clog or be inconsistent out of powder measures but I was wondering if anyone had experience with a certain measurer or had a tip or technique to kind of ease the pain. I am getting tired of measuring each load and would like to be able to throw consistent accurate charges without worrys and with less measuring. I am currently using a RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure. -
I saw the sight at Bull Basin in Tucson. Googled it also and it came up.
