Always happens to me. Ive seen pigs in the strangest places when deer/ elk hunting.

I hear ya. I got 2 stolen this past year and don't know if I'm going to buy new ones.

I am looking for a good reloading manual that would give info for 223 and 204 rug. I am looking to load 55 gr. SP in the 223 and 45 gr. SP in the 204. Any suggestions?? Also, I am using a SP because I am looking to be able to salvage what I shoot. I have been leaving huge exit wounds and am looking to save what I can yet get the job done. Is the SP my best choice or should I look at a different bullet? Thanks

Very addicting. Every time I go to hunt mulies I just drive right through mulie country because I can't get enough of these Coues deer.

Hatchet is a good one. I did a book report on that book just about every year I was in school.

took me 2 years to even get to take a shot at a deer with the bow. I missed. That is still the only shot I've taken on a deer. I've drawn back alot this year and have been getting close on a regular basis but either nocking the arrow or drawing back is killing me. Taking my time and just thinking that I have all day has helped me get closer. If I can only keep thinking the same eway when I'm within range Im pretty sure I can close the deal. I just get excited when I know I am at the point I have been trying to get to. Most exciting thing ever though. Getting close with a bow and not killing is more of a rush for me than killing from long range with a rifle. Cant wait to experience the feeling of a succesful archery deer kill.

Personally, I would have spent the hour and a half searching for my own pig spot rather than search the internet for someone elses. Pigs are everywhere. Take a walk down a sandy wash and look for rooting, chewed up prickly pear cactus, pig poo and trails. Also stop and listen if you are seeing lots of fresh sign. Pigs are very loud when they are feeding or moving around. They also smell pretty bad. You will probably smell them before you see them. Good luck.

Weird. I just found 2 shed antlers from 2 separate deer not 10 yards apart from one another this past weekend as well.

Thats interesting. During the early archery season I saw a hawk swoop down and try and pick up a Whitetail doe that was running across a meadow less than 60 yards in front of me.

Why not use their drive to your advantage. I always try and plan for what the other guy is going to do and how it can help me out. Seems like if you had a rifle the odds would be in your favor not the bowhunters. MAybe go deeper into the wilderness next time. Thats a good way to get away from the crowds.

Memories arent measured in inches. Too much emphasis on score. Go out, have fun, try and shoot a good deer.

If I were you I wouldn't even bother going out. There are no deer in 34a. Actually, I am counting down the days and cannot wait. Hope you get a big one.

I like to use a hefty bag with 3 holes cut in it.

High priced ammo may be a good way to make you make every shot count. I bet you won't miss when you think about how much each round costs. Maybe that is what I need.

Seem to me like an awful lot of does out there this year compared to bucks. I used to see a buck to about every 10 does. This year has been totally different. Archery, October, and now in November I have been seeing 1 buck to about every 20-25 does. I just ended a "buck drought" in which I had seen 36 straight does without bucks this morning. I wonder why there have been so many does this year. Trust me, the bucks are there. It will just be the persistant, patient people that find them.

Very good point. If this were a draw for an archery bull elk tag it would be a totally different story. I never thougt of it that way. I must agree. Small flaw. Gr8White, if you get drawn every year why make a second choice? I never do for pig.

There always seems to be too much emphasis put on aantler size and score. DId you have agood time and are you going away from the hunt with some good memories are the most important parts of the hunt.
