Did they spell your names right in this issue of RMG&F? I know it's not your fault Tony, but they changed some letters and added some letters to the hunters name and to my name in the last issue of RMG&F No big deal though, it's all close enough.......Mullions Outfitters.......the picture was awesome though! Happy Birthday! JIM! -
That would have been a very hard thing to leave behind!!! I love character bucks, that one is awesome! Thanks for postin'! JIM>

All the bulls I saw last week up there were still sportin' the fuzz....didn't see any starting to strip yet. I know of some bulls farther south in a different unit that have been hard horned for a while now. The tops aren't what they should be on average, but I am seeing better top ends this year than I did last for sure! The tops last year were pathetic on that side of the state. Thanks for postin' Monty! JIM>

Welcome to the site Redneck I honestly believe that you are safer and will have less problems when you are closer to the border. I'm sure some will disagree, but I have spent a TON of time in that unit and never had a bad experience. I have seen and run into lots of illegals, but they are fresh on their journey and haven't reached that desperate stage yet. Most illegals we see down there will avoid you at all cost and if you do run into them the've been pleasant and not hostile. I have not delt with drug runners yet, but they obviously have made it a point to hide from me and stay out of my camps. I think as the illegals get farther north they start getting desperate and I hear about more stolen property and bad run-ins up in those units. All I know for sure is it's YOUR country and it's YOUR hunt.......don't let anyone ruin it for you......take some friends and go hunt! JIM>

That's awesome!!! Great photo's! JIM>

In an earlier post you said you had a 35B Oct. tag Are you planning on having a loud camp in order to scare off the illegals? I don't think that's the way to go........I would think that's more like an invitation to the party! I hope you decide to have a quiet camp....especially if you actually do have the 35B tag and are camped close to me! Best of luck, JIM>

I have found several of those cache site thingymajigs, usually just a bottle or a tin box with a small notebook or paper inside. People write down the time and date they were there and little tidbits about their hike or the area. I have found them usually on top of big mountains and all over the state.

He Shorty......Yeah, I'll probably have to rely on you for scouting.......I WANT nothing less than 95" and I want it NO LESS than 200 yrds from the road. I don't wanna have to hike too far and I want to use the Rhino for a nice solid rest......so make it happen! Just kidding, I'll take your leftovers Hey Tony, I think I'll be just south of the Canadian border in the town of Turner, and i think that is in Hill County or Blaine County.......kinda central on the northern border. I was lookin' at the map earlier and it's gonna be a LONG drive for a little 'Loper! I might fly instead! JIM>

I don't know the exact dates, but it's the first couple weeks of October. I purchased this hunt at the AES banquet auction last year and had to postpone the hunt because of my Alaska trip, so I really had my fingers crossed that I would draw this year and not have to wait till next year! The draw odds are somewhere around 45% so I had a good chance of drawing anyways. I'll be on a closed ranch for 5 days and i don't think I will be seein' any 80" type bucks, but was told that a mid 70" type buck is huge........so because they have smaller bucks, I'm takin' the muzzeloader instead of the rifle to make it a little more fun and challenging.......the country is flat with no trees at all, so archery is out of the question. I'm excited! Antelope are almost as purdy as Coues Thanks, JIM>

HOLY $#!T What a HOG! Awesome mount and an incredible buck!!!!

Thanks guys.....I'm a pack rat when it comes to anything collectable like arrowheads, antlers, etc. so I don't sell any of those things.......especially my Camera! I didn't see any Sheep out there, but I'm sure they were around somewhere. JIM>

Hey Redline....I am referring to the non-hunting and anti-hunting veiwers. I have heard before that there are alot more of these veiwers watching these sites then we would think. They search for any negative junk they can find to use against us........and that article in that paper is not a good thing! Truth or not....that's ugly! JIM> BTW.....I hope those other veiwers are on this site checkin' out all my dead critter pic's and readin' about how I killed em'! I just don't think it's a good thing for them to see hunters bashing each other and arguing.......we should all stick together even if we don't agree on how the other hunts.......as long as it is legal of course!

I had that tag a couple years ago and it's a blast! As far as 18B.....there are some whopper bucks down there, but they are no different than what you can find in 10! I found it harder to hunt those bucks in 18B, but we did kill a nice Muley in 18 while huntin' for "lopers, so that was fun ( GTT killed it ). Don't be afraid to go way west or way north, although, I did kill my buck close to Seligman and I think that area actually gets overlooked! Best of luck, JIM>

Everyone needs to go! It's gonna be very informative and fun! I also hope to see some CWT.com'ers there! Hey Chrissy, make sure to grab a few extra SW gift certificates for me JIM>

Which place is cheaper? I would think NZ is alot less stress than dealing with the problems they have over in Africa. I also have been hearing Africa is planning to raise all the trophy fees by twice as much this next year! SCI is over there trying to fix the problem I think right now. Thanks, JIM>
