That's what I was figuring Thanks for the small look at your book, would love to buy a copy when it gets published! JIM>

I have and use the Swaro 15's and that's all I need for Coues I also carry my EL 8.5's around my neck, but I honestly could get by without em'! I have the 20-60X80 HD Swaro spotter and it collects way to much dust to be considered worth it I rarely ever carry the spotter in the feild and the most use it gets is when I'm at the shooting range. I have no problem with my 15's on a tripod descerning whether a deer is a buck or not. If I can't tell, then it's too small to worry about anyways. Now, if you are wanting to evaluate and decide if the buck is 95" or 100"...then you will need a spotter, but C'mon......that's crazy....just kill it! I would say that if you really want to spend the money on something, try out the Jim White Tripler, I think it's cheaper than the doubler and i believe it works better and faster. You will not get the same quality like you would with a spotter, but you won't be out all that extra money and it's a WHOLE lot less weight to carry around! I believe you may have a hard time finding a Tripler right now, but Jim's got a bunch more on the way soon! JIM>

Whoooo hoooo! Hopefully it was Mr. Mass!!!! Can't wait for details and pic's!

My Oct Coues buck! Our Oct Coues bucks!
COOSEFAN replied to Lance's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
That's a gorgeous buck Lance! I absolutely love the mass it carries throughout!!!! congrats! JIM> -
I don't give a dang what you think I am. I just think it is dissrespectful to call another guy's gf names like that. Call who ever else you want names, but don't ever call me that again. You gross me out. You might want to re-evaluate your so called good looks I hear you talk about. Good luck on your so called guiding. Good luck. me thinks Casey is avoidin' that one!
-
Christian, that is the one I'm talkin' about and it's awesome! This buck I'm talkin' about was healthy and had no testicular problems like you would think. It was not a cactus buck, just runnin' behind schedule on his Couesie duties and hadn't started rubbin' yet. Christian, tell that guy to post up some pic's....I've bugged him enough about it! JIM>

actually, that buck that bobbyo posted could go both ways......but if I shot it with a WT tag......I would tell the G+F that it was flaggin' it's tail before I shot and I couldn't see any other part of it's body aside from the rack! That one would be tricky with a WT tag!
-
I believe it's a judgement call on the Warden that checks ya (if ya get checked). If you have a WT tag, your deer better have a big fluffy white tail! It don't matter how big body he is or if he has WT antlers or vice versa........the butt n' tail needs to match the tag pretty much
-
Casey, I forgot about that. That buck had a very weird tail ( not as weird as that one posted above ) but it was definitely different. The tip to tip spread on this bucks ears was almost 21".......my buck this year was 16"! This pic shows the Muley characteristics that Casey is talkin' about, but antlers are never a good thing to judge in this case......it would have to be body differences that visually would prove it's a hybrid to any degree.

Who says you need a Dec. tag to kill biggin's?
COOSEFAN replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Thanks again guys, I found another photo with all of us in it. We are tryin' to get T-Bone to sign up and get his story on here, he's got some great pic's and story to share also! I will say he made an incredible shot (1 yard longer than Shorty's) and impressed the heck outta me with his shooting skills....C'mon T-Bone, get on here! -
Hey bobbyo, the dirty guys are the guys that know the score and are acting like they don't and throwin' in guesses I talked to Shorty and he's in CA but will post all the measurements tomorrow when he gets home. He didn't want everyone upset at him for waitin' so long.
-
I'm not accusing you of anything, but I'm sure you had a Muley tag right? If not listen to what Gamehauler is tellin' ya. Welcome to the site and congrats on your mule deer! JIM>
-
BTW.........we never figured out the net score.
-
Ha ha ha! You guys are funny......I figured by me addin' that last post you would start changin' your guesses C'mon Shorty, what is it!
-
I'm gonna have to figure out how to make this all work ........'cause just about all of ya are gonna want me to take your kill photos from now on after this!
-
That's an amazing double right there! I don't know which one I would want.....forked G2's or super mass? Hmmmm.....who cares, they are both STUDS! Congrats! JIM>
-
Dennis, sorry about the negative feedback you received on your first post with us here. There is definitely a ton of guys on this site who would love to help you out..........you may not get their # 1 or even their #4 spots, but they will definitely point you in the right direction! I personnally know nothing about the unit so I'm useless to ya I appreciate the fact you took the time to share your photos with us and also to give us a little background on yourself.....I hope you stay with us and share your photos again! If you would still like for this thread to be removed just send me a PM. Thanks and best of luck to you and your son! JIM>

Am I seeing things or are those bucks related? Check out that character point on both! Looks like the same antler configurations just a few years apart in age? Freakin' outstanding bucks! Congrats! JIM>
-
Awesome first bucks!!! Did you guys share your gun, or have matching guns? Thanks for the story and congrats to you both! JIM>
-
Oh say it aint' so!...........Tasco's??? That's like takin' a Snoopy pole on a Tuna boat!

First Post, First Coues Deer with a bow.
COOSEFAN replied to RFactor's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Fantastic buck! That's one of my dreams right there.....a big ol' archery Coues! Welcome to the site and congrats to you! JIM> -
I don't know what Pops is talkin' about.....hunting is life for me! The picture taking is the icing on the cake 'cause it means somebody was successful at the huntin' part of the deal We've killed 5 deer within' probably 800 yrds of where Shorty's buck is layin'! I killed my buck this year on the hill just in front of Shorty's bucks nose in his pictures! We kinda like this spot AND so does 500 other hunters, so it's definitely not a secret spot.....it's just a lot of bucks get overlooked here Bret, I would love to photograph you with a buck any day!

New pics of Mr. Mass
COOSEFAN replied to GRONG's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
That shirt is awesome! I really like the vegas gold color myself. Kevin's buck DEFINITELY needs to be on a shirt as well but there's just nothin' like a big ol' fat antlered critter like Josh's buck! That buck is a stud! JIM> -
My Oct Coues buck! Our Oct Coues bucks!
COOSEFAN replied to Lance's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
That's awesome Lance! I can't wait to see the rack in your hands. I heard about it and wished I made it to the get together to see it! It would have been almost a 2 hour drive for us one way! I found bucks by going to the same places where we saw bucks last year and surprisingly found bucks in almost the same exact spots this year! I never realized how habitual they can be! Congrats on a great buck! JIM>
