Beautiful buck! Congrats, JIM>
-
I'm pretty sure that pic was published in a magazine as well.....I think it was the AZ Wildlife Veiws? I know I've seen it before, I bet Scotty is right. JIM>
-
C'mon.......where's the pic's! Congrats on the toad, and welcome to the site! JIM>
-
Wow, the marvels of modern technology! Hey Garrett, Cody and Tyler I'm sure would love to go varmint callin' with ya! You will need to show them how it's done though It is great to see you on here and I hope you have an awesome deer hunt with your dad! Last time I remember seeing you, you were more excited about your new "Hockey Shoes" than huntin'......I'm glad to see your carrying on the family tradition with your first deer hunt! Best of luck Garrett! JIM>
-
Dangit, I didn't get on here in time to wish you guys the best of luck, but I will anxiously await your return with story and pic's! I will be in 21 this weekend helping two boys on their first hunts as well.....can't wait, them "11" pointers better watch out! JIM>

If you look up "STUD BUCK" in the dictionary....
COOSEFAN posted a topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
This is mother nature so it shouldn't offend anyone i hope PM me if it does....... What do ya think this set would score..........I'M talking about the SET of ANTLERS ......... -
I haven't seen one yet, but they are awesome looking! I do still beleive several of those pic's on that other thread are Coati's though.......but there are two that I would bet money on are those Jaguarundi critters.....I just wonder if their coloring may vary by regions? Cool stuff! JIM>
-
Missed you by that much.... cat looks like its lookin for her... Oh come on Casey..........I thought you of all people could see that's a buck.....that's a trophy in your book isn't it! that is if you have enough shells to hit it! I love messin' with ya! JIM>
-
That ridge in the background will give it away everytime BUT....it's Unit 41 not that 36somethin' or other (not that it matters......everyobody and their brother and sister and aunt and uncle and cousin and nephew and grandma and great grandpa hunt there anyways!) I love that buck though!!! JIM>
-
It's MINE........at least for now JIM>
-
Now where did you come up with that pic' Matt? THAT pic makes me side with ya.......and now maybe one of the others. The ones where the critter is down in the water, those are Coati's. This last photo and one of the others make me think Jaguarundi and agree with you.........even though, I still don't see the face you are talkin' about......maybe the ears, but not the face. JIM>
-
Another thing is that I just have a hard time believing a cat of any kind would be gettin' down and dirty and wet in a mud pit like that? That is what Coati's do. I've seen em' do it at waterholes, they aren't afraid of gettin' wet. No way to tell for 100% fact, it's just what I'm guessing! Very cool photos though! JIM>
-
I can see the possibility of them being a jaguarundi, but I'm still stickin' with Coati's! I don't think you can base the comparison off the clear photo of the Coati you have..........those ones in the water could be and probably are wet, and not all Coati's have thick bushy tails like that one. I don't know if it's 'cause there younger ones or not but I have seen big differences in colors shapes and sizes on Coati's. I'm also not catching where the "cat" face is in the grass? Which pic' is that in? JIM>

Dang, looking at that mass I assumed he was older! If you don't mind Josh, what is the measurement around those bases? Again congrats! I've been telling everyone about your buck and the history behind it.......I think your buck and the story behind it is one of the neatest things I've seen, especially with your boy and that shed!!! Thanks, JIM> -

Not on my Coues properties but I do have a beautiful ranch that is high in the mountains with tons of un-hunted birds! I think we may just hunt it this year and guide/outfit it next season....we'll see. JIM> -
Awesome buck! I love that area and actually shot my very first Coues close to where that first pic was taken Great stuff! Congrats, JIM>

Congrats to the lucky tag holders! I forgot about the deadline and was sittin' in Montana when it came due, so for the first time in 21 years I have no pig tag! Oh well.......guess I'll have to just settle for shooting another Mexico Coues and a Goulds Turkey instead JIM> -

Absolutely outstanding........Incredible job stickin' with that buck, like has been said before, you gave that buck all the justice he deserved and then some Happy as heck for ya, congrats. JIM> -
I used Casey's for the first time this year and am kickin' myself in the butt for not doing so earlier! He cut up that "wrongway" bull and I was certain it wouldn't be that good, but the client gave us the meat and I had to get it taken care of. That bull is EXCELLENT and Casey did an awesome, professional job on cutting and wrapping and I have yet to open a package without being happy with how it looked and tasted! I have also heard about and tasted that Jalepeno and cheese sausage......It was from an old Ram and it was outstanding......couldn't imagine how it would be with a fat ol' Coues!!!! I will send all my clients there without hesitation....great people too

quote from article: "It’s the hunters who keep most of these species going,” said Jim Clay, a middle school English teacher, hunter, and maker of turkey calls in Winchester, Virginia. “They put in the money, and they put in the hours. Hunters really care about what happens.” Yeah baby!!! I wish that every non-hunter AND anti would read that article word for word! Great article! JIM>
