    Cool fishin' experience

I do not speak Spanish BUT, pez is what I do after drinking a few cold ones. pescado is what I do after several chats with Mr. CUERVO Casey, the difference is that a Pez swims in a lake, and a Pescado swam in a fryin' pan We were at Tempe Town Lake.......that's why there were other people around!

    Cool fishin' experience

Ah...you do know a little spanish! I was catching spawning bass but haven't in a while, I think the tail stays bloody for a little while is my guess. The fish have moved from the shallow beds down into the deep thick stuff lately. Oh, and Danners aren't only used for huntin' Thanks, JIM>

    Happy Fathers Day

when is this boy gona learn it don't mean chit if you didn't catch it. OH SNAP! Hey Ultramag, I'd have to admit Ranger is the best but Triton is next in line We actually went from a Ranger to the Triton. but this Triton is bigger and badder than our old Ranger. Our boat now is 20' with a 225hp OptiMax and will blow most boats outta the water, and the HotFoot pedal adds to the fun! And in all fairness Casey, I have learned over the years that it don't matter what your floating on.....it ain't gonna make fish jump in the boat, you still have to catch em'. For instance, I've been catching bigger bass lately on a P.O.S. aluminum boat than I ever have on any glass boat JIM>

    Cera-Kote

Heck no.....it's just a tool that's gonna look really good when I'm using it, especially propped up next to that 100" Coues I'm gonna be takin' pictures with this year

    Cera-Kote

Hey guys, I'm getting excited about a rifle I have being built right now and i'm deciding on whether or not to have it Cera-Koted. I know the rifle will have different colors and finishes on all it's components so I was thinking of having it all cera-koted....except for the stock. The stock is already camo'ed from McMillan but thought it would look cool with a solid matching color on all the other components....barrel, action, scope etc. I have no knowledge about it other than what I've read on a website. Besides the cosmetic value of it, is it as durable as they say? I'm afraid of it chipping or flaking off leaving my baby cheap looking.....is that a valid concern? Also, if they apply it on my scope as well is there reason to worry about the lenses getting messed up? Lastly, is there any places you reccomend doing it.....I've only looked at LTM Refinishing so far. Thanks in advance, JIM>

    Cera-Kote

Heck yeah, that's awesome! That is very close to the same color I want and I love the accents too. I've heard the cera-kote has two different applications, one is baked on and the other is sprayed on which cures by air drying....thats how they do the scopes I believe. The stock I have being made is supposed to be done any day now. I found this picture below on a website, loved the colors in the stock, and McMillan remembered exactly which gun it was and still had the recipe for the colors! So mine should look the same but I got the Lazzeroni Thumbhole instead of this one which I think is the A-5. I was thinking of matching the tan color in the stock for the cera-kote, or maybe the darker brownish and doing that solid color cera-kote on all the other parts! Might have to do the accents also, that looked awesome! After all that I'll have to learn how to shoot the beast! Thanks, JIM>

    Happy Fathers Day

Heck no.......I tried my darndest to catch up to him, but he beat me fair and square. It was embarrasing too 'cause he was using a plain ol' Senko rigged wacky style on a jig head!!! What's up with that!!! I threw everything I had and even tried to fish with the same wacky rig he was using, but I just didn't work it right I guess He knew what he was doing though, he pre-fished the weekend prior so I say it was an unfair victory for him We did end up putting about 40 fish in the boat all together though! What, no pictures? You're always good for a couple pics. Let's see'em! TJ I should have taken pictures but we didn't, there was an awesome sunset Sat. evening too and I just never dug out the camera. Pops did get a picture of me with my biggest of the day which was 3 1/2 lbs. and was caught drop shotting with a small purple Robo worm. JIM> BTW.......Casey, this is what you catch when you fish off a Triton

Start The Wait,Does It Make A Difference ?

Musta been our devastated economy that caused the decline! Jus kiddin'. Great job gettin that info Troy.....I am curious what the totals will be once the bonus point apps are picked out.......I would still bet that there are more bonus point apps for Sheep and Buffalo this year than any other The one good thing I see with all this is that it forced out the folks who would normally apply their non-hunting friends, and their grandmothers.....'cause it only cost them a few bucks for the chance. When somebody draws a Sheep tag now.....it will most likely be a serious hunter that knows the value of the tag! I do feel bad for the folks out there with kids, thats the one major drawback I see with having the money upfront, that's gotta be very hard to cover that expense in this day and age.

Start The Wait,Does It Make A Difference ?

Well, I used too strong of words there I guess, but what I'm talking about is how tight money is right now and how tight folks are hanging on to it.

Start The Wait,Does It Make A Difference ?

I will have to disagree with ya on this one. I will get the numbers for us and post em in the next day or so. I use to think the samething but after talking with some people in the draw department they gave me the overall numbers of the total people that applied over the last few years and regardless of paper or online they were within a nats a$$ of each other. I do think that the economy will have a impact on the draw this year as well especially Bighorn. I don't doubt the numbers are close, I remember when we talked about this before. I just know alot of folks who just applied for bonus ponts because of the upfront cost and it makes me think it has to cause a decline in apps.....but like TJ said, most folks will find a way.........I know I had to

Start The Wait,Does It Make A Difference ?

I think it makes an impact needing the money up front. It leaves only the guys with money in the game and kicks the rest out, regardless of residency. As far as seeing a noticeable difference in draw odds, I think the devastated economy this year will be what makes a noticeable impact. LOTS of people just applied for the bonus point for Sheep.....still like winning the lottery, but it's gonna be a better chance at winning that lottery this year!

Happy anniversary to you and your wife TJ! Good luck with the fishing and get pic's even if you don't catch em'! JIM>
  20. Very sorry to hear about your loss Mark and Kathy. I bet you shared alot of great times with Duke and that's all that matters! I lossed my huntin' buddy a few years ago and I was devastated over it. I kept laughing at myself 'cause it was "just a dog", why was I so upset.......but that's entirely not true, they are part of the family and especially if you don't have kids they quickly take their place! I felt like I had lost my kid and it sucked. I wish the best for you and Kathy. JIM> Here's my boy "Zeus" several years ago on the rez.... Here's my new boys, which are Drake and Brutus

    Monster coues bucks

I would too.....lucky dog! I can't get enough of just looking at the photos of that beauty......couldn't imagine actually owning it, I'd hold it so much I'd have the color rubbed right off that rack by now! LOL!
  22. COOSEFAN

    Monster coues bucks

TJ, I think the main thing with that is you are only hearing what the Gross score is.....the Net score which counts for the books is rarely mentioned. Also the tape stretchers do their best at turning a good buck into a great buck all the time. There are the ones that just don't get entered too and there are a bunch of those out there. Lastly, there is a long time between printed record books and the big critters killed lately and entered just haven't been printed yet.

    Monster coues bucks

I took a camera and a tape with me one day while in town to do just that but didn't make it in time. There were a couple Muleys there that the world would probably like to know about also!

    Monster coues bucks

I've never kept count, but after spending ALOT of time in Mexico, having a best friend who owns a taxidermy studio, and having friends that have found or whacked monster Coues bucks.......I've held a couple. The biggest I've held was a rack that is sitting in a small shop which is actually the local gun club down in Obregon, Mexico. I never had a chance to run a tape on it and nobody knew it's score but I figured it had to be 160-170"....... it is a non-typ with multiple long tines on each side. I also spent a little time in a small taxidermy shop in Mexico that would blow you guys away! There were piles of antlers and racks and everyone was laughing at me 'cause I was so excited to sort through em'........ my idea of what a monster buck is changed that day
  25. That's bad stuff, I feel sorry for your Bro-n-law! I was very fortunate when I was bitten and although it was life threatening I was treated fast and that spared any long term injury for me. I ran into a medium sized Mohave rattler last night and thought of this topic. It was one of the most aggressive ones I've seen, it actually was coming at me and I never provoked it. The dang thing kept flipping over 'cause he was so wound up, tense and ready to take me out! He's still alive.....but on this one, I seriously thought about whippin' out the ol' "deuce-deuce" and showing em' I was badder than him!
