Hey guys, I liked the name, thought it was cool. BUT, now that I think about it, ya gotta admit Casey, it is kinda funny! Rifle looks great, and is well built for sure, definitely post up some groups to prove you won't blow up anymore racks! Congrats on the new gun! JIM>

I like that name too, also like Luger Sorry but Luger makes me think of someone with a sinus infection That's what I was thinking! "Sick em' Loogy" or "Go fetch Loogy" or "Sit Loogy.....good boy" -
Naw.....that couldn't happen, they would call me before doing a repair and get approval.......if they don't then they are willingly taking a chance that they will have to eat the cost.......and that's exactly what would happen! I still have a freakin' $850.00 scope I have to buy.....So, this repair needs to be as cheap as possible!! Fingers are crossed!

Help name my new hunting buddy!

Gorgeous pup! My bro in law has one and is just an awesome dog! I really liked the name "Danner" and wanted to name my Yellow Lab that but the ol' lady didn't approve.....but I really liked it Also liked: Zeus Kimber Sako Buck Moose Bull Best of luck with your new friend! -
Hey HunterX, thanks for the offer, I'll keep ya posted! That bull in particular scores right now about what he did last year hard horned and our buddy passed up a shot at him on video about 30 minutes before he killed that 415" 8x8! This bull had a broken G5 last year at that time and was a major factor in not killing em'. This bull might not be alive for very much longer Casey, I'm hoping that they will fix them before callin' me.......'cause you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip, so what will they do, break em' again? I'm thinking they are fixing them, but trying not to get my hopes up, they promised I'll have them back by the 9th (didn't say if it would be free or not) and time is running out!

Dangit Doug....I didn't want that info here on a public forum!
-
Happy late B-day........glad to hear you had a good time! JIM>

Is it in a van down by the river? OK, so it might not be that least expected of an area. still no call from Swaro.......
-
I still haven't heard from Swarovski, hopefully that means they decided to repair at no charge and didn't need to contact me yet! I'll keep ya posted.
-
Doug, I can always find time to go fishin' AND go babysit!
-
Awesome pics, definitely a couple good bulls there!
-
Thanks guys. The way the lady sounded on the phone had definitely given me the idea that they might not cover the repair and that's why I am worried. Still no call from them yet, maybe they are still assessing the damage. I'm leaving right now to go babysitting again and it really sucks not havin' my EL's.......gonna have to sit back a little farther with the 56's I'll keep ya posted on what happens with this, thanks again for sharin' your experiences. JIM>

Thats great to hear Wklman! But that was your fault for dropping them.......it wasn't Swarovski's fault, and they still stood behind their product and fixed it knowing you would be happy with the whole package. SOOoo.......if they accidentally got runt over by my wife, that's my fault too, think they will fix mine as well? My right barrel wouldn't focus either.......but that was becuase the housing was caved in on top of the gears and lenses inside They did set up a rush job for me and have it scheduled so I'll have the binos in my hand by July 9th......fixed or not.....which will be a little more than a 2 week turn-around, I thought that was way cool! I'd love to hear more stories like Wklman if anyones got em'....keeps the hope alive! Thanks, JIM>

Davey, I have heard nothing but good things about Nikons warranty, I wouldn't doubt you get a new pair in the mail. As for Swaro's warranty, I again have never heard anything negative, all positive, and I personally have never heard of Swarovski NOT fixing their products....regardless of fault! I had a client last year that decided a good place for his rifle was under my Rhino! His Swaro scope was crushed similar to my EL's and Swaro replaced his scope for free.......and he told them he dropped the gun, so it was his fault. I just pray they do the same for me
-
NOPE. Ain't gonna say...don't ask, too embarrasing..... actually wasn't MY fault really, but I will say the right barrel was "crushed" right where the Swaro logo is. The lady in the service Dept. didn't sound too optimistic when I told her what was wrong with them. Hopefully since we have an outfitter account and help keep them in business maybe they will have mercy on me

Hey David, I don't remember saying I "love" Vortex I had to say I "liked" Vortex because they were setting my brother up with a bunch of optics to test out. The spotter I thought was great for the price and so are the binos, but definitely stay on the high end of their list of binos....the cheap ones are just that. Also, after I've said all I've said about how great Swarovski is, I may change my tune in a few days. I am currenty waiting for a phone call from their service dept. who just received my EL's today. I've never needed to use the warranty on my binos, but have always heard great things, actually I don't think I've heard anything bad. BUT, this repair job is going to put that "supposedly" great service to the test.....it's pretty bad and was actually my fault so we'll see I may have to buy those new Nikons after all cause I dang sure can't afford another pair of EL's
-
Lord I hope they do that for me!!!! I just checked UPS tracking and my EL's just arrived at the repair place in Rhode Island today but they haven't called yet I've never had to use the warranty service, have heard all the good things, but I'm putting them to the test with this repair job! Congrats on the new purchase, you won't regret it.....I NEVER leave home without my 56's What happened to your EL's, how bad were they?
-
This is fun, I usually don't get wrapped up in debates, especially when it's pretty much about personal preferance. BUT, I have come down the same path as many of you and like Hunter X stated, I started with cheap "hand-me-downs" from Pops. I remember the first day Pops brought home a big ol' pair of Steiners, and I REALLY remember the day when I stole them and claimed them as MINE! BUT.....then he came home with a pair of Swarovski SLC's.....WOW! Those were the clearest, brightest binos ever and they made my Steiners feel like nothing more than an over-rated pair of Tasco's That's where it started for me, and after now owning a pair of 8x50 SLC's, 8.5x42 EL's, 15x56 SLC's and the 80HD STS spotter.......I find more game than ever before. Is it because of the glass I'm using? I don't think the fact that I use Swarovski is the main reason for finding more game, it's more about knowing where and when to glass certain places in certain terrain at certain times of the year........for ME, my Swaro's just make it easier and more comfortable to spend enough time behind em' to get the job done. This is just my epxerience and thoughts after using several brands for extended periods of time, I can sit behind my EL's from sun-up to sun-down and my eyes have never felt fatigued like they have with "other" brands......now my butt is a different story all together All I tell anyone is to buy the best binocular you can afford and if you can't afford em', then sell somethin' or steal em', you can't kill em' if ya can't find em'! Jus my two pennies.

Finally got some pic's loaded up from a fishin' trip last week. The fishin' was incredible and my thumb is still raw from lippin' those big bass! I heard something splashing around in the water and looked to see a young Whitewing doin' the backstroke in the middle of the lake. We trolled over and threw em' in the boat. He sat on the middle seat for about an hour and just watched us fish while he dried off in the sun! There were other folks fishing near us and they all got a kick out of our little mascot, or as we called em'...our "lucky charm". I eventually caught a nice bass that was just over 4 pounds and got the little guy to pose for a couple pictures. As soon as I leaned over to release the fish, our "lucky charm" flew off, almost into the water again, but he made it up into the trees! Very cool experience I was fishin' with Butters and we had a little competition goin'.......I kicked his butt with this 5lb 4oz fish! To his credit though, I did witness him losing one at the boat that was considerably larger......I swear I saw his eyes water up, but the tears quickly went away when my laughter broke the silence

I really wasn't trying to bag on Nikon....just givin' Davey a hard time Nikons are great for the money and are best in their class as far as I'm concerned....BUT, on that note, they are not in the same class as Swarovski or Leica and that isn't based on price! (can't beleive I just said the "L" word in the same sentence as Swarovski ) The construction, quality of glass and durability sets Swaro's apart from the rest.....you get what you pay for when it comes to optics!!! And it is a fact that there is a sense of pride in ownership, you gotta be proud of what you have after spendin' that kind of cash! Those new Nikons at least look better than any other Nikon binos I've seen, I would bet they are good........just not the best
-
Pitchin' chartreuse jigs and lizards up under overhangs, cranks have also worked well. Right now some of the bigger lakes have incredible topwater bites in the AM and last till late in the mornings. Wish I could get in on that, but for me it's time to hang up the poles
-
Ya know David, they can try all they want to copy or improve on my EL's........but it just aint gonna happen
-
Freakin' awesome, thanks for sharin' the pics!
