Not exactly, "grains" are the weight. A heavier grain head CAN have a bigger cutting diameter because it's bigger, BUT you can get a smaller, lighter grain head with a huge cutting diameter as well. I second everyones thoughts on the Thunderhead and Muzzy heads, they are very dependable and I have killed alot of critters with both. I killed my last bull with the 3 blade 100gr. G5 Montec. I had a quartering towards me shot at 35 yrds and threaded him along his shoulder, through ribs and it stuck out his opposite hip, great penetration and durability that is second to none! They fly great for me, a little more expensive though. Good luck, JIM>

OUCH..........David, thats gotta hurt! I am hoping your next post reads: JUST KIDDING! If not, sorry to hear that, I do have some NM muzzeloader bull tags for sale! Might make it not hurt as bad if you buy one? I can't believe how many people from this site and from my group of family and friends drew my elk tag...no wonder I didn't draw it.........THANKS, mjmhunter, coueskiller and Desertsheep! I'm sure I'll see you guys up there! I did get my first choice deer which was 35B WT Early. Two of my buddies and I put it first choice in order to guarantee a tag and do a pack in trip for the whole hunt. Should be an incredible experience. Congrats to everyone! JIM>

Hey Josh, I forgot about this topic with all the draw stuff goin on. I would highly reccommend the Outdoorsmans tripod. I love it, and talked all my buddys into buying them and they love em. I really like the Jim White pan head and is very fluid for panning and small and compact. I use the Outdoorsmans adapter with the "pins" installed in both my binos and an extra foot plate on my spottin scope so they all fit on my one J.W. head and adapter. It is very expensive and I feel only worth it if you use it ALOT because there is comparable products for a little cheaper. I still highly reccomend having the Outdoorsmans install a "pin" in the EL's if you get them and use their adapter, it is simple/compact and sturdy.......unlike the Swaro El adapter which is a joke.....drop it once and I bet it will explode with peices and springs flying everywhere! Like has been said before, these items are expensive, but you won't ever have to upgrade or replace these products because they are among the best and will last. Just get your hands on the tripod and the EL's, you'll know what were talking about! Best of luck to ya, JIM>

No rumor here, just factual info. I have a buddy who HAD two 78.00 hits when this all started, and one 78.00 hit was taken away a day later and has never showed back up! He did put in a total of two elk apps so it made sense until that happened, guess we'll know soon enough. JIM>

These pics make your heart race?
COOSEFAN replied to vegasjeep's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Looks like you were on a boat? Looks like a waterline on the lower part of the hillside and typical vegetation along a shoreline? Is it? Where at? Thanks for posting.....very cool! JIM> -
Mike, I can't believe you have that many deer points! I didn't think it was that hard for NR to draw a deer tag here! I have a CA client who has drawn 3 "LATE" 35B tags in less than 10 years, he thinks it's easy, appearantly he's just dang lucky! Are you putting in for the trophy Muley hunts? Or WT? JIM>

I had only checked my family and a couple of my close friends that had 78.00 hits, and with that we ended up with two archery 9 bull tags and one archery 10 bull tag, my dad got the 12AW late hunt and I got my first choice 35B early wt hunt (obvious draw on 1st choice). I felt bad that I was the only one finidng out so I stopped calling my buddy to have him check anyone elses results. Now everyone is pissed at me for not checking for them. I now have just been praying the results will show up for everyone soon. It has been very common to have your cc hit disappear and then have it reappear later as an actual charge, that first hit was just to verify the card was good, I believe. And, just another rumor, but, from an actual employee at G+F, she said we should be able to access results this afternoon. This is what she said, but take it for what it's worth..........it's a rumor and I don't trust anything I hear anymore with anything related to this dang draw! Best of luck to you all, can't wait to hear what you all got! JIM>

Hey Ernesto, don't want to scare anybody, but you are not the only one that has happened to! There are more people out there that applied online and their apps are not there and their confirmation numbers won't work to bring them up! Some apps were lost and I don't think G+F want you to know that! See, now they ARE gonna take my little deer tag away.......oh well. I know of one guy who actually went "with confrimation numbers in hand" to G+F and had a meeting with someone. His apps disappeared and they said the draw had been completed and there was nothing they could do right now, but they will compensate him and all the other poor folks with the same problem accordingly! He even said they might do what they did when the USO thing happened.......have all the biologists figure out how many additional tags each unit could afford to give up! Then possibly have another draw for just those people who lost their apps. The one important thing to remember is to MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBERS, otherwise your S.O.L. Hopefully there's just a glitch on the web, in your case Ernesto, best of luck to you. JIM>

Thats Awesome Joe! Bret will actually be mounting his own bull.......he drew Archery 10 bull! It's been a good year.....so far! We never draw elk tags, so this is really cool! Dad drew Late 12AW also, he's stoked! Best of luck to your family! JIM>

"This is cause they had a hacker invade the draw about 15 minutes ago - and they are worried about identity theft " Ouch...........was that kinda directed towards me and my friend? If so, he is not a hacker and actually alot of people on this site know who he is, he just clicked on the right spot at the right time and got through to the results. I have no clue if these results are complete, but they do coincide with the CCard hits we recieved! He told me exactly what he did to get there, I've tried and doesn't work for me, so i really hope the results come out soon so you all can check and the nice ladies in the office can get a break! JIM>
-
HOLY CRA.....what is up Joe? Glad to see you on here! It's complete madness right now, usually not like this here, unless someone with the initials "CHD" stirs things up! No offense CHD (if you are still alive). Hey Joe, Matt drew archery 9 bull! I think he's still crying tears of joy! JIM>
-
Yeah..I'm giving up........getting dizzy........Just wanted to be able to see it for myself. I hope I didn't cause more stress for you all...... just wanted to let you know what I know and was hoping it would work for you guys. JIM>

I keep trying the website and clicking different options but nothing. I have no clue why it worked for my buddy, he's not a hacker or anything, just started goin through different areas of the website out of curiosity and happened onto the results, which MAY NOT be completly loaded, I don't know but the results he gave me for the people I had him check, matched up with the CCard hits, nothing more or less, except for my buddy with the 8 bull tag who has NO CCard hits? The NM draw was similar, going through the Spring Draw results page!? Again, who knows. The results WILL BE OUT, WHEN THEY COME OUT! Thats the only hardcore FACT! JIM>
-
It's just letting me veiw my apps. A friend of mine told me that is what he did, and it took him to the results page and he was able to check our results with ID# and D.O.B.. Like I said, it worked earlier today and then later, but that was the only times. FYI I do know a guy who, according to the Results, drew a Archery 8 Bull tag, and he hasn't had ANY CCard hits!? Can't figure that one out. JIM>
-
Dude, what are you smokin????? Nothing at the moment......but I CAN veiw my Fall 06 apps if I go through the Spring 06 draw results page and then go to reveiw apps.

I JUST SPOKE TO AZDFG!!!!!!!!!
COOSEFAN replied to redneck74's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I hope that is correct, like i posted before on the other thread, there are some results posted on the website, but it is appearantly tricky to sneak on there, my friend did it twice today, out of how many tries I don't know, but my results were up as well as my family's. I do know the 24B Sheep tag has been claimed as well, don't personnnally know the guy though. Hopefully they are in the process of loading results and still running ccards, they must not have gotten to my Sheep tag yet! JIM> -
A couple buddies of mine kept checking their accounts today and two of them had their cc hit disappear! The person on the phone told them the pending charge was taken back and no longer in effect! These were $78.00 hits that disappeared! Needless to say they were a little upset, but the hits showed back up later as actuall charges to the account! Thank god for that, might have started a riot! JIM>
-
All I can find is that my Fall 06 app info is under the Spring 06 results page? No Fall results? It must be timing! I hope we can't get inot trouble trying to find out! They might take my little deer tag away! Oh well........I'm gonna keep trying! JIM>
-
I am trying it and it's not working for me either, My friend did say he uses a Mac computer....I don't know if that would make a difference. He got on earlier this morning also and then couldn't get back on later until about 2 hours ago. I think you have to squeeze in at the right moment or something? I have no clue, but I am not yankin any chains here! There are results loaded, may not be all of them, but there is some. Hopefully they are just loading as they go. I do know that those pending charges on CCards have been going through and charging everyones accounts today also, some have dissappeared and then showed back up as a charge to the account! SCARY stuff for those who thought they had good tags, then see the CCard hit disappear! JIM>
-
ALRIGHT FOLKS......I don't know what is up with the draw process, but they already have results posted on the AZGFD website! I have a friend who has accessed the site through the spring draw I think and has checked several people I know including myself and the results showed up there! I got my 35B early tag and my dad got 12AW late! My bro and one of my buddies drew Archery 9 bull tags. That was all I had him check, but he said he just went through the Spring draw results for 06' and the Fall results were there! I am going to go try it, but I haven't heard of it working for anyone else. This might mean they are almost ready to open it up online? Or maybe he squeezed in while they were uploading the results and just haven't ogt around to loading my sheep tag yet? Good luck, JIM>

Why a spotting scope????
COOSEFAN replied to coueshunter's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Yeah........I see em' now. I do remember seeing them deer before AND what I thought were deer in the previous pic...WERE deer, so I don't feel too bad, although I still can't see the STANDING doe! David......BOTH my eyes are all messed up from starin' at this darn computer for the last 6 hours! Great visual on the NEED for a spottin' scope, Coueselk! Makes me remember WHY I have one and lug it around! JIM> WAIT.............is she standing below the buck on the left? If not....I give up! JIM> -
dang.....that is a great mount! There is alot of work that goes into a mount that most people don't see, and it shows that your taxi knew what he was doin'! Who did the work? JIM>
