    Dream Buck!

I wish I could get outta the house! I'm stuck trying to make good on all my promises to people makin' videos of their hunts last year. I just had the computer guy over my house to hook up an external harddrive and showed him what I did with the Paint program and he had no idea you could do that with Paint! He told me if I could do that with the Paint program....I could do so much more with Photoshop. I have never used Photoshop.......just have heard you could have alot of fun with it. Heard Costco has Photoshop Elements for real cheap! Back to work.........JIM>
  2. I have way to much time on my hands at the moment and got a little bored! Here is the buck I'm gonna kill next year........at least in my dreams! "This here is about 150+ inches of imagination!" (this aint real )

Sorry for this thread hi-jacking Bryan.........Casey is known for it.......stop it Casey!

    grandpa's bull

I bet that was a huge deal to kill a bull that big back then, especially with archery equipment from that era! That's cool you have that rack! Good luck trying to kill a bull like that in 6A nowadays! JIM>

Hiking can be overrated, we proved that also.......found our buck from the window of the truck......while eating candy bars! Casey remembers that one because of the SUPER LOOONG pack job..........all 80 downhill yards of it! He ripped his dress in the process though

I just received one.......kinda as a gift.........and it is still in the package. Have any of you guys used one? How accurate? How easy to use? Any tips? I know I will soon be finding all this out for myself, but just curious about it before hand. Thanks, JIM>

    Dream Buck!

I've tried several times to make a crossover buck, it would probably be easier if I had Photoshop instead of Paint, but this is the best I could do. It's a little extreme! JIM>

    School Presentaion

Hey Reynaldo, I admire what you are doing for those kids, epecially at that time in their life. I remember when I was in 8th grade, a counselor asked me what I wanted to do as a career.....I told her I wanted to be a professional hunting guide! I wish I knew then what I know now! I'm not sure being a guide is a good "career" decision for anyone! I love it, but I would NOT be able to do it "full time" if I had kids of my own or alot of bills. I am a very fortunate person who found a very understanding wife who lets me do this most of the year and bring home very little money! It is a great "hobby" but a very hard "career" to sustain and do it season after season. I personally don't know anybody in my profession that can do this as a career.......they all have a "career" job, or something else that they do during the off season that lets them have the neccessary time off during the season. Again, I am a guide/outfitter, but I would rather encourage a youth to go to school, find a "career" job, and then be a guide as a hobby during his/her time off. This is just my 2 cents, somebody else may have a different oppinion, just being honest. JIM>
  17. You say "One shot"..........did it drop in it's tracks or did it take awhile? This can create a difference in game meat as well. I also have heard that washing off the meat with a hose is not reccomended, it is better to just let it stay dirty and develop a crust that actually protects the meat and is easily cut off later while processing.

    Freaks of the Woods

Are my pic's and avatar visible now? If they are......here is another freak. I stole this from Shortypants after he found it last year on the late elk hunts. My taxi buddy (GTT/azwtcrzy) cleaned it up for me and it's pretty cool. The pic's never do things justice, but the bases on this guy are just big balls of mass with a ton of character. Hopefully my pic's are all showin' up? Thanks, JIM>

    Freaks of the Woods

WHOO HOOOOO.....WHAT A BULL! Some serious characteristic there! Would love to have the sheds off that bull.....especially that left antler! Is it only my pics that you guys can't see? I can see all the pic's including my avatar. thanks JIM>
  21. I'm with TLH on this one.......trying to wipe my eyes right now. I too lost my best friend last summer and can relate. I think the best thing for me was when I brought "Drake", my new puppy home a short while after "Zeus" passed away. Drake has somewhat filled that void and has kept "Harley", my GSP happy during this absence of her best friend as well! Very sorry to hear about your loss, Maura was a very lucky dog to have been a part of your family and the pic's show she had a very full life as well, take care, JIM>

    Rackulator

For the Mass, you just pull out the hidden 1/4" tape measure.....wrap it around the smallest part.........click the set button and push the tape back in.....it reads how much tape was wrapped around the beam. I think you can accurately score a normal rack in half the amount of time, maybe faster, with this gadget! I think the neatest part is with the push of a button, you get any type of score classification you want, from SCI to Buckmasters! I don't know anything about Buckmasters, but it sucks..........my buck scores 99 4/8" under Buckmasters, why does it lose so much under that category? JIM>

    Rackulator

Alright.....I couldn't wait. Get this.......I took my time, did it exactly as the destructions said......and I was off by 1/8" from what I taped my Mexico buck at! I figured it would be way off but it wasn't. With a 1/4" tape and a bunch of guys in Mexico watching to make sure I didn't "fudge" the lines, I came up with 109 3/8 and this gadget just came up with 109 4/8" for B+C Gross Typ. and 102 1/8" Net Typ. It also gives several other scores.......B+C Gross Non-Typ is 113 1/8" with a Net Non-Typ of 109 3/8". The SCI Non-Typ is 113 1/8" with a 109 4/8" for SCI Typ.! It's almost scary how cool this thing is......if it came up with a score way off from where it should have been, I was going to sell it.........I think I will hang on to it. JIM>

    Rackulator

This one came with a DVD and makes it look fairly easy once you get the hang of it. I definitely would only use this thing for a fast rough score only......you probably could fudge it a little here and there by over-rolling, but you can fudge it a bit with a tape just the same! I bet you could get it really accurate if you take your time though! I will try it out later, JIM>

    Freaks of the Woods

Is it happening to all the pics? Or is it happening to just the ones I posted? My photobucket account is currently exceeded and if I try to post any more right now it will just show an icon stating "bandwidth exceeded". I can still see all the pics that are currently posted though.
