Just tryin' to pass the time before the results are up! Thought this was funny enough to share!

Alright.....I suppose you guys are wanting more for your money. For limited time only....I will throw in this brand new, "prop-powered turbo booster"! You can see it here attached to the Rhino.......increases horsepower by 172cc and comes with a chute for emergencies All you gotta do is strap it to the back of the truck and hold on! Who needs a Banks Turbo or a Super Chip to enhance performance, when you can have one of these? If anyone is interested, I will sell the "prop-powered turbo booster" by itself....and I will throw in the chute at no extra charge

It's makin' me jealous seein' and hearin' about all these brownies everyone is finding, wish I could make it up there! Thanks for the pic's CnS! JIM>

That's fake. I agree with Bill, if you look at all the edges around the Moose and the harnesses you can see it looks as though it were cut out. Also, after getting to fully experience the actual size of a Moose, not to mention a Yukon Moose, that one is either the biggest bodied Moose to ever live, or that guy is a midget! Neat pic though, but I don't believe it, JIM>

I can't knock anyone for keeping their favorite spots quiet, but have mixed feelings on this particular species. On one side I really like the idea of being able to hunt something "big" year round w/out drawing tags. From that perspective, it would be nice to keep the good spots on the down-low & give 'em a chance to establish a decent population. The other side of that coin is that wild pigs breed several times a year & one sow can produce over a dozen piglets during that year, all of which are breeding & producing more piglets before they are a year old. Their populations tend to grow exponentially when not firmly controlled. From what I've read, they're very destructive on habitat and can potentially put extreme competitive strain on indigenous species in the area. That's particularly concerning when we have a declining mule deer herd as it is. I don't think that they get a lot of hunting pressure in our state, though. They must not be well adapted to our dry climate, as they don't seem to have really taken off they way they have in other states. I do know one thing for sure, they'll have a little more pressure on them real soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I personnally don't know much about the hogs I mentioned.......I do know that they have been overlooked and are hard to find. If anyone finds one of the herds I mentioned off the info I gave........they deserve it! I have not hunted these hogs...yet........but I do know that I have hunted the area since before I was old enough to hunt.....and I have never seen one! They are there though, just have to know exactly where. My buddies have found the heards almost every time out and there are alot more hogs out there than most people would believe......they are breeding like crazy in the short time that they have been out there.....I definitely think they need to be hunted hard..... the native critters don't need the competition! I also agree, "loose lips, sink ships", and I didn't realize I may have given too much info, but the hogs I know of can't be found just by going off what I mentioned. They are not my hogs or my spot to be giving out directions to, that is my bad To anyone headin' out to smoke a hog.....best of luck, I plan to do just that on Sunday ...hopefully! JIM>

Hey Johnnie, you guys weren't the guys I was talking about..........but you do fit the discription You guys have done very well and thats awesome and you got it right..." I just think that you choose your own game and play the odds. But don't complain if you are applying for these crazy tags." Most guys that have ALOT of points are only putting in for the top hunts and usually only put in a 1st and 2nd choice.......so they already know they are making it harder for themselves, when they could draw a tag if they just choose an easier to draw hunt. It's the guys drawing the Early rifle and top archery units for Bulls and Rifle 'lope tags on back to back years or every other year that gets to me! That is when I think it's excessive and not fair to the guys that never draw and why I would like to see a waiting period on the quality hunts. "just remember we are all Redneks just looking for a vacation" that's a goodun' JIM> -
ooops......that's what I forgot, thanks CnS! It is an Automatic. First On Race Day Yeah, I can't believe I'm selling it........actually my buddies and some of my family are going to call me stupid when they see this thread.......they don't know yet that I'm selling it but I have no choice.......and my wife said she'll buy me the truck I want next year when she gets outta school and gets a job! I already bought an older BADA$$$ truck to get me by until then.....I'll post pics of it when I get a chance. JIM>

I'm always happy for my buddies when they draw tags.....at least I know the tag will get used and most likely on a good critter. When buddies draw tags.......that means I get to go hunting regardless! It still sucks though for the guys that have alot more points! -
Awesome! Great pic as well! JIM>

Bonus points only mean somethin' when either you have " 0 ".....beginners luck........or if you have MAX, but if you have MAX points, you still don't have a good chance if you are putting in for an Early Bull tag.....and MAX points doesn't mean sqwat if you are putting in for Rifle 'Lope or Sheep. The way it works is if you build up points and then SETTLE for putting a hunt 1st choice that you normally would put 3rd, then you have good chance, but it's not the hunt you really wanted. -
awesome finds Neo, I wonder how many people have ever found an ipod while shed hunting! You might be the first! JIM>

You guys wouldn't beleive how many people I know that have drawn QUALITY tags this year that have had the same tag or similar in the last three years! I know two guys that have their second Rifle Antelope tag in three years! I really would like to see G+F set a rule where you could not apply for a QUALITY tag ( Early Bull, Rifle Antelope) for 3 - 5 years after you successfully draw a QUALITY tag. There are so many people out there that have gone alot of years since their last quality tag........and there are alot of guys out there that draw quality tags all the time........I know it's the luck of the draw, but maybe they can make it a little more fair this way. Just my $.02 -
I have a buddy who has been killing hogs in 21. There is at least one big herd there and they have got on em' several times and have killed a few. There was a ranch nearby that raises animals that you can hunt, and these had gotten loose along time ago and they're still out there. They are wild and don't just sit there and let you sneak up on em'. These hogs have been a secret and some others I've heard of have been kept a secret also by those who know where they are.......it's kinda like a honeyhole for bears.....most guys will take it to their grave before giving directions! It would be cool to know where there are possibly some "big game" sized critters that you could go hunt anytime for the price of gas and shells! JIM>

ALright....i got another one for ya..........a buddy of mine had the EARLY RIFLE 10 bull tag last year....AND the RIFLE 9 ANTELOPE tag the year before. HE JUST GOT ANOTHER EARLY RIFLE TAG FOR BULL ................AND...i repeat........"AND"....another RIFLE 'LOPE TAG. I forgot to mention, he also had a DESERT SHEEP tag two years ago.......same year as the rifle 'lope tag! I guess i'm happy for him... I wouldn't mind one bit if they made a waiting period.....say 3-5 years that you would have to wait AFTER successfully drawing a QUALITY tag..........would make it a little more fair! Oh...by the way...G+F told him and several other guys I know, that the results won't be out until mid-week NEXT week. The draw results are SUPPOSED to be supplied to G+F on MONDAY and then they will load it up. This is just what they are sayin'.............really doesn't mean it's true Jorge Gonzales -

Thanks Mike, I just wish the hunt had lasted longer to get some more footage.....that was the first morning that we had the camera along on the hunt. I do know of several CA non-residents that got CC hits for Elk! JIM> -

Half Hour, Half Mile sounds like Great fun to me Way to go Josh, Nice Kitty, sounds live you deserve it Mike Yeah, that would be how I would want it to go.......half mile, half hour.......but that was the hunters first time out! He will probably never experience how hard it usually is to follow the dogs for several days and countless miles! Take em' however you get em' though JIM>

Congrats on a beautiful cat! That's awesome you got the whole experience and I'm sure you covered alot of hard miles! It makes it that much sweeter when you work hard for em'! Great job to you guys on a well deserved cat and to the pups! JIM>
