I killed my first deer wth 30-06 and since have used .270 and 300 weatherby(3 great calibers ) , last year I bought 7 rem mag and have taken 3 deer with it . I like it more than I want to admit . Model 700 adl synthetic stock 26 in barrel . C(cough)abelas has 'em on sale right now with stainless and synthetic .

The agents I spoke with in 36 told me to call this # (877) USBP-HELP . Great couple of guys .

I'm good at 355 yards . Would I shoot past that ? Absolutely . Factory rifle , factory ammo , inexpensive but reliable scope .

Can someone give me an estimate of velocity for the following load in a 7 rem mag with 26 in barrel . 65.4 grains of IMR 4831 in a hornady case with a win mag primer and 154 grain hornady sst.

O.K. you know where the does and fawns are but the bucks aren't with them so quit lookin for the bucks there . They aren't far off , dont go back to the same spot where you been seeing the does , move your search to some new territory close by . They like shade . Dont give up . Good Luck . BTW I'm no expert but this is what I would do .

Thanks for the heads up . No, I didnt notice any signs of over pressure , no dents , dings, cracks, splits, shiny spots, no problem with extraction and primer didnt look any more flattened than the heavy mag . Are those the signs you speak of and are there others I should look for ? A friend loaded these for me as I'm not a reloader myself . I believe he's been using this load for years.

Naw , man when I am shooting at a big coues buck it is not possible for my bullet to get there too fast .

Ok guys , thanks for the input . The reason I was asking is because I usually shoot factory loads but a friend gave me some of his handloads to try and they shot pretty well ( 3 shots at 355 yds < 1 inch ) but the factory ammo was close too (about 1 1/2 inches) and about 2 1/2 inches flatter . I was hoping to compare the velocitys ofthe two . My factory ammo is hornady heavy mag 139 gr sst , it is suppossed to start at 3250 fps , course if I shot it thru a chrony it might be different , too .

Last year I bought a new mod 700 adl in 7 rem mag with synthetic stock and 26 in. barrel . Yesterday , I shot 2 different loads thru her at 355 yds. First one was 3 shots with Hornady Heavy Mag 139 gr. sst . This one was my friends pet hand load 154 gr. sst at 355 yds. I got mine at walmart but I think adl has been discontinued and would probaly be hard to find there , last time I looked cabelas still had em for a good price . If I had it to do over , I would buy it again .

Thats the laziest , most unethical lion that I have ever seen and look how fat he is , gonna give all us real hunters a bad rap .
