Coronado National Forest: No fee or permit is required for dispersed camping. The Coronado allows camping within 300 feet of all roads and has eight wilderness areas in which mechanized or motorized equipment – including chain saws and mountain bikes – is forbidden. For more information see the Coronado National Forest Web site at www.fs.fed.us/r3/coronado/index.shtml or call 388-8300. -
you might want to check into vitamin c supplement . vitamin c and bioflavanoids can help strengthen blood vessel walls . dogs can produce their own vit c but some say in times of stress they need more , others claim they never need vit c supplement .maybe ask the Dr. what he thinks . good luck

ruffcountry replied to ruffcountry's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Thanks for all the kind comments from all . I've been testing some different loads and I think I might be on to something with this one This was six shots this afternoon with 232 gr. norma vulkan at 110 yds . The scope is my old Leupold M8-4X made before 1974 . I know this group may not impress some of the shooters on this site but you gotta keep in mind that I'm dealin with 2 barrels and 2 triggers and this group was shot starting with clean barrels . -
Good catch Lark ! Ya" made me Google it up & bring Bugs Bunny into it! ------------------------------------- 1. A mighty hunter. Now chiefly used in this sense outside the United States. 2. A slow-witted person. Nimrod was the Biblical founder of Babylon, also considered a mighty hunter. Contrary to the uneducated twits on here, Nimrod did NOT build the tower of Babel (at least the Bible does not claim this, only that the "men of Babylon" tried to build it), and the Bible does NOT claim he tried to kill God. The Bible ONLY mentions that Nimrod was a son of Cush, the founder of Babylon, and a mighty hunter. Curiously enough, Dictionary.com attests definition 2 to have derived from a Looney Toons episode, wherein Bugs Bunny mocks his adversary, the hunter Elmer Fudd, calling him a "poor little Nimrod". Warner Brothers' Looney Toons cartoons were not written for children, but for literate adults, and often contained literary references children would not understand. Younger generations, mostly illiterate, and having little or no Bible knowledge not gleaned from their moronic parents and half-wit talk radio hosts, probably misunderstood the comment as being a general insult describing the slow-witted Fudd. Probably from the phrase “poor little Nimrod,” used by the cartoon character Bugs Bunny to mock the hapless hunter Elmer Fudd. I knew Nimrod was a hunter and I wondered how it came to mean "slow witted" . So , it was Bugs that gave it that meaning ; actually , I should of known that since bugs was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid . You could have called 'em maroons .

Has anyone here ever used the services of Optics4Rent ? If so how did you like it .

Dont paint me with that broad brush . I only hunt with busted whiskey bottles and not wimpy green label bottles either , the 90+ proof bottles have so much more "knockdown" . 80 proof green label bottles are clearly unethical and should be outlawed for hunting porpoises along with 7-08s . I still to this day , vividly remember the first time I killed that bottle of turkey 101 smashed the bottle on a rock and leaped on to the back of a a big ole trophy coues , I dont think my Pap was ever prouder and I never felt better before or since . I hold hope that all you wimps out there will come to terms with the error of your ways and seek the redemption and satisfaction that comes with knowing , you are a real hunter !

Got 36c oct -
Thanks for the info. She said it comes with a box of ammo and the scope is brand new in the box. Also stated that the rifle has only been taken out shooting twice and looks brand new. I can pick it up for $300 I just don't need another 30.06 so i'm thinkig of buying it to make a couple of bucks on it. The serial numbers will be ran before I buy it. It could be a very effective gun/caliber in the right conditions , heavy bullets in a pump action at short to med range, besides , I never sold a gun that I didnt want back .
-
all depends on condition , on some of the auction sites ,they runnin 400-600 .
-
ok I see how it works but I use a piece of paper cut to fit over the pan and around the trigger .

300 wby is excellent choice for rifle , thats what I used to take my 1st coues . I've since switched to 7 mag for coues but I still like my 300 wby . If I was gonna buy a new pair of binoculors it would be 15x vipers . I know there is better glass but not sure there is better for the dollars . Good luck and have fun . My favorite thing I learned on this forum is " if your not questioning your sanity , your not huntin hard enough " thank you shortpants , helps me keep on keepin on .

Be nice Johnny, I believe there are at least 1 maybe 2 deer left in the 36's... Are you making the trip back to AZ this year? PM me. Chris I forgot to mention crazed hunters wandering aimless in the pitch black dark while talking on a cell phone !
-
Thanks. It seems to be the consensus that these make very good rifles ... especially the large magnums. Maybe I'll hang onto it and do a .375 H&H or something fun like that. 375 would be pretty cool .

I only use banjo strings made from "talkin javelina" gut .

no deer in there , just bp and illeagals, dont even waste your time going down there.
