" I might buy a box and pull a bullet and see what they shoved in there and start from there. " I think I read somewhere that the factory superformance loads hornady sells is sometimes different from the powder you can buy ,not sure about this but just sayin be careful .

I once worked on a job where the supervisor spoke 5 languages including French . When he said Coues , he pronounced it as coo-eez . Not sayin thats right or wrong just sayin . When I first read about Coues before i ever hunted them , I read the word as cooze , as i read more about them I read that the correct pronunciation was kouse like house . When I started hunting them , everytime I said kouse to anyone they would look at me funny and say " Oh , you mean cooze ". Now I just call them cooze like most everybody else .

i wore em for a good 12 hours over a two day period and no problems and definitely no blisters . i will continue to do breakin but they are comfortable enough that i think that i could have gone off on my huntin trip straight out of the box . the desert guides are not as tall as mountain extremes, i dont know, maybe that makes a difference . i have always worn taller boots because i like the protection from cacti and lechuguilla but most of time i didnt lace em all the way up , maybe some good gators would be nice with these shorter boots .

If you don't like the soles buy the hardscrabble hiker, similar boot but has a vibram sole. The only boot without vibram is the desert guide. They put a harder some on them as th rocks in az will chew up the vibrams but they sure do grip good! mine are desert guides and the sole says vibram on it

got the boots yesterday . appear to be well made , a little stiff ,might require some breakin . i wore them for short trek thru some gullies near my house . so far , i like them .
