Cody ,dont take this the wrong way but it is impossible for your rifle to shoot to the same point at both 100 and 200 yds . If your zero is 100 then drop at 200 is approx 3 inches . If you zero at 200 then rise at 100 is approx 1.6 inches . Are you shooting 5 shot group and measuring center of group ? Are you firing from a dead solid rest ? 1.6 is not very much ,if your rifle was really closer to zero at 200 then at 100 and 200 it wouldnt be off very far untill you switch to the 200 yd circle . Hope you follow what Im saying ,not sure I splained that well .

O.K. 270 shooting 130 grainers is a flat shooter , but not that flat . It cant shoot to the same point at both 100 and 200 yards . If you zero for 100yds then your bullet will drop about 3 inches at 200 yds and about 11 inches at 300 yds . I dont know how big the circles are in your scope but you might try using the top of the circle as your aim point or you might have to go somewhere in between the crosshair and the circle . If you are zero'd at 100 and circle puts your shot 4 inches high then that means circle is approx. 7 inches different than crosshair . Is it possible you have a muzzle loader scope ? Hope this helps . Good Luck .

So what happens if......
ruffcountry replied to bowsniper's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I think (pray) your're right Lark . The polls are getting closer , just look back at the predictions for past elections . The media always predicted way higher for the dems than it turned out . If the pollsters are saying 2 pts ahead for maobama then that probaly means mccain's ahead by 1 pt. Dont know what the reaction to chairman maobamas 30 minute infomercial will be , I didnt watch it . -
Way cool , those are great bucks !!!

Guess the score contest Oct 2008
ruffcountry replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
I sent in my guess as 121 1/8 , after reviewing the bucks score sheet and then reviewing my score sheet I realized that I made a mistake in my addition and that my guess should have been 124 2/8 . Still would have been a long way from winning but it would have been a little closer . Next time I will double check my math . Congrats to the winners . -

Colin Powell endorses Obama . Powell's no "Uncle Tom" and just as suspected he's not much of a conservative either . Did you catch the part where he said " If we would just send more of our money to poor parts of the world , we could prevent terrorism " . What a crock , looks like Powell's just another of Bush's mistakes . '

From Sierra bullets 308 dia. 200 gr. SBT .B.C = 560 @ 2600 fps and above .552 between 2600 and 2300 fps .555 between 2300 and 1900 fps .560 @ 1900 fps 308 dia. 165 gr. SBT .B.C = 404 @ 2400 fps and above .409 between 2400 and 1600 fps .419 @ 1600 fps and below .308 dia. 150 gr. SBT B.C = .380 @ 2600 fps and above .368 between 2600 and 1800 fps .360 @ 1800 fps and For cooze sized game I would probaly go with flatter trajectory of a lighter weight like 150 or 165 gr. Those Vld's might be a good compromise , are they available in any factory loads ? -

If I remember right , the 200 gr. will give you the most B.C. -

Catclaw, I have a buddy that that loves his Steiners 20x are they really horrible? He swears i need them for our upcoming hunt but at $ 1,100 i could use some more opinions. Thanks I have had a pair of steiner 12x40 hunting series for 10 yrs , yeah I luv 'em , very lightweight ,clear and bright , good hunting binoculars . I have not compared these side by side in the field with anything like swaros , I doubt they would match , but when I bought them I didnt have to dig too deep in my pocket to pay either . What I have done is stare thru them all day for days on end and not come away with crossed eyes and a headache . I dont care for the indivdual focus but I learned where to set them for close , med , and long range . Because I liked these so much , a couple of years ago I bought a pair of steiner 15x56 bighorn . I just do not like these as much as my 12x's . They are heavier and I've never thought I could see any better with them than I could thru the 12x's . Somebody in a previous post said that bighorn's worked for them . I am going to sell my 15x56 bighorn . I took them with me on a couple of hunts so they show light wear but I didnt use them much . So there you go , I have two pair of steiner , one pair I like and the other , well , not so much .
