Yep, it's coming --- an ongoing battle to keep public lands public. To all you who recreate outdoors (hunting, fishing, RVing, camping hiking, etc.) >>> DON'T slack off in letting those who represent Arizona in BOTH houses of Congress that hunters and outdoorsmen/women cherish access to our national forests and other publicly held lands!!!

We have had outfitters donate their time and expertise. This is a new program --- undoubtedly more will do so in the future. The hunts we currently need help in: (rifle bull / Nov. 25 - Dec. 1) > 1 tag each Units 5B, 7E, 8, 9 (rifle cow / Dec. 2 - Dec. 8) > 1 tag Unit 7E, 3 tags Unit 8

Much appreciated for your interest, Big or Bust! This program is NOT just about elk hunting. Hunts for Heroes accepts donated tags for ANY draw hunt (varied species) here in Arizona. The donor delivers the tag to our program with a signed affidavit; we then transfer the tag through Ariz. G&F. At this time, the posted elk hunts are our priority. We have received donated tags for deer hunts throughout Arizona, just none outstanding at the moment.

FYI, this thread features two DIFFERENT rams. The original pic is of "The Ghost" from the Tinajas SE of Yuma. The other is of the monster ram farther north ...

Just got back from a lion hunt up north (1 lion and 1 bobcat tagged by others in party). Have a back-up tracking dog collar with a bad on/off switch (the collar seems to accept charge okay). Garmin doesn't do repairs on the DC 30 unit --- anyone out there who's up to the challenge helping pinpoint the issue? I live on Chandler/Gilbert border ...

Your body gives off (sweats) over a quart of moisture overnight as you sleep. That's why sleeping with a minimum of (or no) clothes on inside your bag should keep you warmer --- that dampness (which wicks away body heat) won't be trapped next to your skin ...

I don't know --- was bent when I bought quad (didn't notice until later when I got up to speed on pavement) ...

Looks like I'm in need of a replacement rim for my 2005 Polaris Sportsman 400--- one of my front tires doesn't like to go round and round on a bent rim. Anyone have one like pictured you aren't using?

A heads up: There are still a few seats available for tomorrow's elk hunt clinic. Learn from 2 of the best >Travis McClendon (Arizona Elk Outfitters) and Dan Adler (Diamond Outfitters & "Best of the West" hunting show on tv)! Plus great info on glassing for elk, meat care, taxidermy prep, and GPS/Google Earth. AZ G&F wildlife managers also will be on hand to answer questions about your hunt unit. Raffles too! GREAT way to spend a day out the heat (lunch included)!

Looks like we have a handful of spaces left for the elk clinic as of early this morning. So, if you'd thought earlier about attending, but hadn't dropped the hammer, it's not too late! Why go out somewhere this morning and get stuck in the mud? Give me a call and I'll add you to "will call." (480)760-3868 ...
