    Positive feed back

I had to go down to the big city yesterday to run a few errands and thought I would give some free advertising for a few of the places I went to. So… in no particular order…. First was safelite auto glass on mesa drive and southern. They were very professional, friendly, and had great customer service. Next was Healy Arms on Country Club. Great customer service, very friendly, and they have fair prices on powder. Last but not least is Razors barber shop next to sportsmans warehouse in mesa. I always wear a hat and don’t care what my hair looks like but I do appreciate someone who pays attention to detail and takes pride in their work.

    7-08 reloading

For 7mm-08 I either use varget or 4350. For the 139gr sst I use varget and for 150gr SMK I use 4350. I've never used RL15 or RL17. I would have to look at a burn rate chart but i think RL15 is about the same rate as 4350 and would probably work well. I think RL17 is closer to 4831 and i think it would be on the slow side for 7mm-08. I'm sure the 139gr sst would work fine on elk but I think the nosler partition or barnes tsx or ttsx would be better suited. We almost lost an elk last year on my cousins youth elk hunt using a 160gr sierra game king from a 7mm-08. I've killed 6 deer and one bear with sierra game kings and my dad has killed many deer, elk, and bear with sierra game kings so the bullet is capable of getting the job done but I think the nosler or the barnes is better suited for the job on elk.

How accurate is a GPS unit?

Just a friendly suggestion but I would make sure the corners were set by a surveyor and the survey was recorded before I did anything. If I had a nickel for every time a dealt with a property owner who built something based off a bad corner I would be out in the hills this morning instead of at work. Depending on how long ago the corners were set and what type of corner its is it could be marked with different things. Most likely it would be a rebar or pipe set at or just below grade. If it's really old I've seen anything from a chiseled stone to an axle rod. It may have a brass tag on it also which would be nice. If the survey was recorded you should be able to get a copy from your county office. If it wasn't recorded it never happened legally speaking.

How accurate is a GPS unit?

What are your corners marked with? What kind of fence are you putting up? Best practice usually is to put the fence one foot inside your property line.

    Question for the Cope lovers

One time I quit chewing for a little over nine months. I went on a turkey hunt and decided to have a chew out two just while I was hunting. The cravings came back with a vengeance and I've been chewing again ever since. If you do decide to quit don't ever take another chew, not even one.

    Bullet Molds?

I just dont see how Lee can afford to sell aluminum molds for $20 and other aluminum mold manufactures have to raise the price to $100. MT sourdough thanks for the tip. i have heard of people casting soft point cast bullets but wasnt sure how it was done. I was hoping to get drawn for elk this year and use cast bullets but maybe next year. Brent Ill have to check out e-bay. About six months ago i saw close to 100 different steal molds and handles sell at public surplus auction for just over $100. I'm still kicking myself for not bidding. The load I've been shooting out of my 29 is a hot 44 special or light 44 mag. I load them in 44 mag brass. I shoot the light load out of it for two reasons one becasue that was one of my dads guns and i would hate for somthing to happen to it and two sicne i got the s&w 460 if i need to get my recoil and muzzle blast fix the 460 takes cars of it
  17. For the few "boolit" casters on here. Is there any manufacturer besides lee that sell a reasonably priced bullet mold? the Lee molds run about $20, everything else i have found is $80 to well over $100. I bought one Lee 45 cal 300 gr gas check mold that seems to be working ok. i was just wondering what else if available. overall i've been very pleased with my new casting hobby. i have a hot 44 special load with 250 gr bullets over 8.5 gr. of sr4756 that has been shooting very well out of my old pinned S&W 29. I also have a mild 357 mag load that has been shooting well out of my marlins and revolvers. Im still working on a good 460 S&W load.

Want to buy 6mm Remington brass

The 6mm remington is a great caliber! I killed my first deer with my dads 6mm when I was in 5th grade. It was built on a mauser 98 action, douglas premium barrel, and timney trigger. I still have that gun but havent shot it in years. Where are you located? I have a fair amount of 6mm brass and can probably spare some.

    need help

If you have or can get 308 brass its very easy to make 7mm-08 brass. Just lube, full length resize, trim, chamfer and deber, prime, powder, plug, and shoot. I might have some range pick up 308 brass you can have.
  25. I also use nickel cases in several calibers. Just be sure to use a carbide sizing die. The nickel will scratch regular steel dies.
