    Bino Preferance

If you already have the 10x42 swaro's, I personally would put those on a tripod and call it good. However, if your wanting a set of higher power glass remember the phrase "you get what you pay for." I would maybe look into Minox, Zeiss Conquest or go all out and buy the big brother (15x56's) to your 10x42's. You can also look at maybe trying to pick up a demo pair of something on the higher end of optics a save a few $$$ that way. Doug from Camera Land always has some good buys. I have not bought anything from him but a few guys on here have and they have said nothing but good things about his operation. He is a sponsor on this site and has a link on CWT.com's main page. My 0.02 cents----Manny

    Not Coues

I worked at Lake Pleasant for about a year and had several close calls in my work vehicle, thank god I never hit one. I did have the satisfaction of legally shooting one. It was invloved in an accident and almost won. Manny

Craig, My wife shoots just about the same set up. She shoots a Hoyt Razortec at 26 inches and set at 52#'s shooting Carbon Express CX 200's with 85 grain Thunderheads. I believe her arrow speed is right around 245 fps. With this set up she has shot several critters from elk to hogs in Texas without a single lost animal. I say that because two years ago in Texas she thought she would try mechanicals on hogs. With the mechanicals she lost two hogs back to back and quickly went back to her fixed blades. Her shots were where they needed to be but lacked the pentration. Now I know hogs are a little tuffer critters than coues deer but with your wife's set up, mechanicals should and probably would work on deer. However the words "Should and probably" is whats makes my wife continue to shoot a fixed blade. My $.02 is to set her up with a fixed blade and eliminate the concern all together. At her arrow speeds it doesn't take much to get a fixed blade fly true. Manny
  11. Which route would you go and why? I read through some of the old post regarding these but was curious if anybody had any new experiences good or bad with either. These will be an extra pair and back up to my swaro's. I have looked through the Minox and thought they were good glass for the money. I have never looked though the Zeiss so I have no idea how they compare. thanks Manny

    Auction Elk Tag filled ???

I always stay out of these kinda discussions due to them always going round and round and potentially giving more ammo to the anti's. However, I think everybody needs to read Gino's post again no matter where you stand in all this. I think he hit it right on the nose.---Manny

    hassled by border patrol

Thats too bad that you had to experience that. I'm a supervisor for an agency here in the valley and have seen my far share of badge heavy cops. For the most part they are newer cops that either got picked on growing up or feel they have something to prove.

    Navajo draw

    Congrats on the tag!

    broadheads you guys are shooting?

I shoot Thunderhead 100's, I have taken a few critters with them and have never had a problem. But as stated above "why fix it if it ain't broke?" If your Muzzy's are shootin good for you leave it alone, you could be inviting some unwanted frustration.

    Stoneman Lake Road

I was on it last friday and its not to bad. The stretch of pavement from the I-17 to the dirt is still bumpy but if you go slow enough its fine. As for the dirt portion there is a little wash board but nothing major. And I'm the opposite of azhuntnut, I think its faster to 5bs going this way but either way will get you there.---Manny
  17. Great story and what a stud of a deer!!!!!!

Thats not my old truck. I sold my truck a few weeks ago. However, that one on craigslist would make a good huntin truck and it already has CWT.com sticker.---Manny

    Generators

I'm in the market for a generator for my trailer. I'm looking for something from 2000 wt to 3000 wt. I know the Honda and the Yamaha are really nice but also around $2000, which I don't want to spend. What generators do you guys recommend that are around six hundred or less. I'm more intrested in reliability than noise.------- Thanks, Manny

    1998 Dodge 2500 Laramie 4x4

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a new Mega Cab, so I need to sell my truck. It has high miles but mostly highway. The Tranny was rebuilt in March of 06. The motor is still very strong and runs good. The body is straight and the paint is good. The interior and head liner are clean. The driver's side seat has a tear but is covered with seat covers. Over-all I don't think you will find a nicer diesel for what i'm asking. $8,500.00 obo. If interested pm me and I will get back to you in the evening. I am in a class right now and not available during the day. I will post pics in a day or so.
