lonely pop-trailers on National Forest land
missedagain replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
That is interesting I had always heard that the 14 day limit started once the camp occupied the spot not 14 days of occupation within a 28 day period. Actually, it is legal. To an extent. Per the AZ BLM website (referenced by the USFS) covering "Dispersed camping" it states.... "Dispersed camping is allowed on Public Lands in Arizona for no more than a period of 14 days within any period of 28 consecutive days. The 28-day period begins when a camper initially occupies a specific location on public lands. The 14 day limit may be reached either through a number of separate visits or through 14 days of continuous overnight occupation during the 28 day period. After the 14th day of occupation, the camper must move outside of a 25 mile radius of the previous location until the 29th day since the initial occupation. The purpose of this special rule is to prevent damage to sensitive resources caused by continual use of any particular areas. In addition, campers must not leave any personal property unattended for more than 10 days." So leaving your trailer, tent, truck, trail cams etc in the woods, alone for less than ten day is perfectly legal as long as it does not leak any hazardous materials, sewage, or gray water. -

The point is that it is not legal, just poorly enforced. -

It only bothers me when you exceed the 14 day forest service limit. Its the similar to the other post about trying to claim a waterhole, it is all public land and should be first come first serve. If you want to save a spot then there are campgrounds that take reservations. -
I love that first picture, you better have a flat shooting bow to go under that elk and stick that deer.

There is a road goes up into the saddle on the south side, I can't remember what it is called horse mesa or something on the east side of the galuiros. The only time I was there, there was 4" of snow on the ground and whitetails all over the place.

Looks like the g$f sold all of those extra tags for no reason -
The NFL and NBA are both ridiculous

arizona big game superraffle
missedagain replied to acharenio's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I did read throught the website and I saw the sponsoring organizations, but the way that I read it these organization do not get any of the money similar to the way that they do not get any of the money from the auction tags even though they help to auction them for the game and fish. -

I know that all of the money raised from each raffle is suppose to go to support that species but has anyone seen anything that the game and fish has done with this money. I would think that they would want to boast about some of the projects that this money has funded but I haven't seen anything like that. -
I forgott to add that they no longer sell tonto national forest parking passes at the lake, so if you don't have an annual pass you need to stop at a circle k and get one before you get out there.

Take the 101 and exit the pima/princess drive exit, turn right (watch out for photo radar), follow that all the way until your first stop sign, turn right again, follow that until you reach the bartlett lake road and turn right. If you get there early you might get some top water or crankbait bite, otherwise worms or jigs in about 15 feet of water should work good. Have fun

I guess the question then for people who don't have max pts. is how many of the one tag sheep hunts go to residents in the pass percent. With 90 tags total thats 18 tags to max pt holders and it looks like 96% of the sheep max point holders are residents. With deer it makes me wonder if it wouldn't be better to have the bonus point round only apply to your first choice
-
1. Is it correct that sheep hunt numbers with only one tag are not eligible for the 20% pass percentage? 2. Does anyone else see a problem with applying for a low odds hunt first choice (dec.) and a high odds hunt second choice (nov.) with a medium number of bonus pts. because you will not draw the dec. tag in the pass percentage but you will draw the nov. hunt in the pass percentage before you even get a chance at the dec. tag in the regular draw? Am I overthinking this?

I've never been to corner. Will they not work on the bow while you are there so that you can see what they are doing and learn more about it? I wouldn't think that they are to busy this time of the year.

What was wrong with it? Where did you send it?

sending you a p.m.

Looking at getting a new pack for overnight trips, what is everyones opinion on internal vs external frame packs?

Congrats to all of the hunters!!! Three bears in one picture... you can't beat that.

I am just curious what the left over tag list is going to look like

I really like how nevada does it... squaring your points, still gives everyone a chance unlike preference points.
