Cape/horns for sale??
monstercoues replied to northtoalaska's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have 4 coues capes in the freezer from last month. All bucks range from 80-93 inches. Let me know what you are willing to pay for them. They are not easy to come by these days and with the strick border laws, getting them back from Mexico is going to make them an even rarer comodity. -
I have a J104 that I am selling if you are interested let me know. It is in excellent condition and I will give you a smoking deal on it.

I have 4 coues capes in the freezer from last month. Let me know what prices you come up with and I can make you a deal on all of them if you want them all. They are all from bucks between 80 and 93 inches. I might keep one to mount a lion kill I found, but if the price is right you can have them all.

Need Help Deciding Which HD Camcorder to Buy!
monstercoues posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I am wanting to upgrade my video camera to a High Definition one. I didn't realize how many there were out on the market. My mini DV Panasonic is about 7 years old and I have been pretty happy with it so far. I have been looking at the Sony HDR-CX110 and the Panasonic HDC-SD60. The Sony has a 25X optical zoom and the Panasonic has the same plus a 35X intelligent zoom. Does anyone have either of these camcorders or does anyone recommend one over the other? I have looked through both and both have good image stabilization. I usually video wildlife and hunts through my spotting scope, unless I am close enough to not have to use it. These are the top 2 with the most optical zoom available. Cannon only has a 12X optical zoom. I would also like to keep it under $500. -
Great Find! Just curious, what did the Officer have to say about the cause of death? Were you able to keep the animal? As far as the law goes, I believe you cannot possess anything that has a skull attached whether it has hair or not without evidence of legality. If the Officer can identify the cause of death as a lion kill or of natural causes, then he should let you keep it if I understand the law correctly. Maybe you can shed some light on this for all of us.

Awesome Finds! Were those on the San Carlos Reservation? There are some monster bulls out there. I was out there last weekend and could not come up with anything.

Need Help Deciding Which HD Camcorder to Buy!

Josh, Thanks for the info and it's not too late. I haven't had the time or money to pursue a new camera yet. I will certainly be looking at that one. The only bad thing is the optical zoom. It might just work, since I do most of my long range stuff through a spotting scope. Thanks! -
I know the lucky guy who drew the rifle tag! He is a super nice guy who waited many years for that tag. Please PM me if you would like to share where that big buck is! I am sure he would love for you to help him put his tag on it.

Congrats on finding the RIGHT one! haha It is very rare to find a woman who will understand your passion for hunting. It's even more rare to find one who will cook what you bring home! Congrats to both of you and I wish you both many years of Happiness Together!

Hey Everybody, There will be a cleanup in Redington Pass this Saturday March 12, at 7:00AM and will run until 12:00PM. The cleanup will be at milepost 6 off Redington Road. These are the 3 wildcat target shooting areas that are trashed everyday by careless shooters. The AZGFD and Tucson Rod and Gun Club will be providing garbage bags and a dumpster. All help will be greatly appreciated. There will be hotdogs and hamburgers served for all helpers at noon. Please tell your friends and if you need any further information contact the AZGFD Tucson Office at 520-628-5376 or the Tucson Rod and Gun Club. Thanks and we will see you Saturday bright and early!

308, your name couldn't be any more perfect. You are a NUT! You really think that is my mentality? Guilty until proven innocent? Come on man you need to read through the BS I was just playing the devil's advocate to all the stupid replies from you guys. I give up trying to explain myself to you people. Doesn't matter what I say, some NUT will just contradict what I say.

"Monstercoues- You can say what you want about what you heard from who knows who but I could honestly not care any less about what you happen to think about me and my bull. I happen to have some pictures of the quartered out meat but why should I have to show you just to shut you up". -Well if you have the picures why not show them and shut me and all your wise donkey friends up! Doesn't matter anyone can post pictures of meat and nobody would know where it came from. I am loving the comments about having no class and I also love how no matter what I say you people only turn it into something bad. I don't have any issues with you Chimi or your elk. I do have issues with people who shoot animals in places where they can't bring them out. I am sure some wiseguy like me haha will say I am accusing you of this, which I never have whether I implied it or not is not the issue. "Ya I did initially get worked up when I read your post because I had a few of my buddies get questioned by a game and fish officer at Reddington Pass this past December on the first day of the archery deer hunt. The officer was trying to poke his nose around and try to find out some information about me supposedly not packing the meat out". -Sounds to me that the AZGFD already knows about this too. Not surprising, now thats another source that I know seems to know about it. Sounds like you like AZGFD, than why are you faulting an Officer for doing his job by asking your friends questions? I guess someone can post that they heard someone shoot a 150" coues yesterday and a 400" bull and say who they are without pics or any proof and it's all good, but someone asks a question about someone doing something legal or illegal and gets it shoved down apparenlty both of my mouths. Chimi, I don't know you and I have nothing against you man. If you did everything by the book, I applaud you and I am sorry if I offended you. If you didn't do it by the book, then I am a firm believer that what goes around comes around and it will bite you in the donkey one of these days and all of you who stood up for him on these posts will be the ones who will be appoligizing to me later! Monstercoues- You can say what you want about what you heard from who knows who but I could honestly not care any less about what you happen to think about me and my bull. I happen to have some pictures of the quartered out meat but why should I have to show you just to shut you up. Ya I did initially get worked up when I read your post because I had a few of my buddies get questioned by a game and fish officer at Reddington Pass this past December on the first day of the archery deer hunt. The officer was trying to poke his nose around and try to find out some information about me supposedly not packing the meat out. "Guilty until proven innocent"? really man? So you are saying that everyone is a criminal in your mind until they can prove to you that they did it legal. That is a dumb thought in itself. I have followed this site for some time now and just because I decide to share a picture I'm some sort of conceded boaster? I know you said that you aren't necessarily saying that is what I am but I'm not an idiot and I can read through your wording. Like TJ said, you do talk on both sides of your mouth. Most of these forums are braggin' forums and they are here for fun. I probably only know a handful of people on this site and yet I love seeing all the pictures that everyone posts regardless of the size of animal. I also happen to like the AZGFD, without them we wouldn't be able to hunt in this great state. I don't know who you are monstercoues, but I have an idea of what you might be..... When its all said and done the bottom line is that I'm not going to let you and your comments bother me. I can honestly say that I did everything legal while harvesting that bull and if you decide to believe what you heard from people that probably don't even know the first thing regarding me and that hunt then go right ahead because why in the heck should I care about what some random guy on a forum believes. Thank everyone for their comments, gotta love CWT!

Thanks for the reply! Just Curious I want a cat bad haha. I hear Donnie has some great hounds. I was just wondering with the economy the way it is if he is helping anyone out at all. I will give him a call. Thanks!

WOW again haha. I love how people get so worked up over little things. I would love it if someone accused me of shooting a 130 buck before the hunt. I would not get worked up at all. Usually when people are guilty is when they get upset. If you haven't done anything wrong than why get upset? At least people are willing to do something about someone doing something illegal. You are right I and everyone on here should be on the right side of the AZGFD and the LAW. I read post weekly about people blaming AZGFD for stuff and it is more than commical. I never accused Chimichanga of anything and if it will make everyone feel better and sleep tonight I am sorry Chimi if you feel like I have accused you. You can put the shoe on the other foot and say "Guilty until proven innocent". It really is sad to see new members join just to bost about what they have killed. I am glad you joined and don't get me wrong I am not saying thats why you joined, but this site has turned into let's see who can kill the biggest thing out there this year and brag to everyone! I am a trophy hunter myself and I have nothing against it, but how many people need to hear nice buck or nice bull or man now I gotta go out and kill a bigger buck than Charlie! It's sad to see how many people have told me to shut up and not one person has anything to saw that maybe he isn't innocent. Gotta Love It! I agree there are a lot of pictures with people holding just skulls by the road, but I have been in 3 different cities in AZ and heard rumors about this elk. Take it how you guys want to take it, but I am not putting anybody down and Chimi that is a bull of a lifetime, congrats.

WOW, I have been on this site since the day it was created and It never seems to amaze me about how people over react to things. In case you didn't read in my original post I never said you didn't do anything illegal. I simply heard from a lot of people that all the meat was not brought out of the field. I have packed lots of elk out of nasty canyons and it is more than a lot of work. I don't need to hear comments like think before you post or that I don't have any class. I also don't need to PM anybody, if you can't say anything to everyone than don't say it at all. I like how defensive you got in your post back toward me and yes people do take pictures of their meat when they have got it all packed out, believe it or not. I am happy that you killed a nice bull and I am surprised it took you that long to draw a late tag. I also like you your elk got bigger, usually they shrink after the drying period. Yours must be the exception to that rule!

It sure is funny to see the only picture near the road is with the elks antlers only. I have heard from a lot of people that you didn't take all of the meat out of the field. I sure hope someone who has spread those rumors will give good evidence to the AZGFD. There are rewards that are offered for violations and yes I know 27 is rough country, so it is a big possibility that they didn't bring all the meat out and then again there is a possibility they did. I sure hope they did everything legal. Hate to hear bad things about people, but I have heard a lot about this bull. Anybody else hear what I have heard? Do you have any pics of the meat that you took out of the field to stop the rumors?

I called you several times last night and left you a message to call me back. I am interested in the hunt. Please check your messages and let me know if you already found someone else. Thanks!

Awesome Cat! Do you know how much he had to pay for that cat?

After 15 years I finally got another antelope to put on the wall. I am looking for mount Ideas. The exit hole was huge, so I will have to do a left turn pose. Please share your mounts and poses. I know there are alot of new creations since I had my last one mounted. I like the wall pedestals and the pedestals on bases. Please share your favorites!

Thanks for the replies. The only question I have about the hdr xr150 is that under the specifications it states that that camcorder does not have tripod capabilities. Is that true? Does your camcorder not have a 1/4" hole on the bottom like the other 2? -
Did you contact the AZGFD about your find? With all the poaching going on these days they should know about your find. Not to mention you cannot legally possess that without evidence of legality. It doesn't look like a lion kill to me.

Looking for a cool pose for my antelope. Gonna have to do a left turn because the right side exit wound was huge. I reallt like the wall pedestals and the wood pedestals. Please share your favorite pronghorn mounts. Thanks!
