Skunked this morning. Got into one covey I caught crossing the road. By the time I parked and got out they were a few hundred yards away. I busted them up and lost them. Never called or anything, found that odd.

Yeah, Texas seems to be the place to go! Before I posted this I googled ranches in Texas and old posts here. All are a far drive and pry to late to book this year. Store bought meat will cost way less but I would love to eat only wild meat for a year. I’d make the drive if the hunt and my work coincided.

I bought the unit for 60 bucks on sale and the used tub and lid for 5-10 bucks. I can do an 18lb brisket but not much more with my set up. How much is a deep fryer and big a hunk of meat will it fit?

I have the anova model and love it. I went to a restaurant supply and bought a used plastic tub with lid for water bath. Cut circle out of the side for the sous vide. I just wrap it in a towel or two but insulating with sheet foam wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
