    Road Hunting

If you roll down the window and shoot a deer from the truck, You are road hunting ( depending on who see's you.) THATS MY Opinion on the whole situation. and really that's almost every ones opinion on it, there just too scared to say it on the internet. if you see a deer. record breaking or not, folks are gonna shoot it. end of argument, no matter what they say.

    Feral hogs in Arizona

I hunt sometimes on a ranch on the sanpedro. The ranch/farm next to him raises and charges $ lots to hunt these hogs, I havent been able to kill one but have seen them on his property, who the hel% would raise such a destructive animal for the sole purpose of makin money? I guess I Know the type of people who would but I cant understand the why? if I had the chance, I would kill them all and have bacon for years

    been away for 3 years

About 3 years ago me and the wife bought some land in mescal, west of benson az, with the intention of building a home, cash sale only, as we go with no loans and no help (98% built be me). I have camped here as the guest house was done(Just done enough to live in) and now have a shell of the main house. LOL we just got an internet card for the laptop (cause it was more than we could afford before) and I have spent 3 days lookin at the site I joined sometime ago, wow, the # of people on this site now, I know a few guys personally that I am good friends with. I have killed a few things since I was here last and I am glad to be back. Hope it is as friendly as it used to be, thanks

    Deer & Cattle

I think I was with 25-06 when that picture was taken, and I know for a fact many BIG deer have been taken right in that area. In fact I beleive Terry's (26-06) brother shot a nice one about half a mile or less from there last year. Cows have been on this land for so long that the deer and cows co-inhabit the land with no prolbems. I beleive I know the rancher that Lark is talking about with the overgrazing trouble and if it is the same guy. Me my father, my uncles, and my grandpa have hunted in among the cows on that ranchers leased and private land with great succes, My grandpa used to own the property right next to the rancher and we never had any prolbem with wildlife, for shooting or for just looking at in the off season. anyway it might be a different rancher we are talking about and if so it is a very similar situation.

    Fishing

we were up there last week in 2 feet of snow. the fishing was really good I saw a couple of guys that looked like they had three times their limit. we only landed 5 but my wife reeled in about a dozen that got off the line. (she is still getting the hang of setting a hook ) dont know if it will be the same in three weeks though? Luna was decent the fish were smaller though about 8-10 inches that I saw.

    The Judge

I saw one shot at a milk jug at about 10 yards and only 3 of the pellets hit the jug went in one side and never came out. My mom wanted one for a defense gun for sometime but after seeing that I bought her a 45 Auto for mothers day instead. oh and they were using good Winchester and not the target loads.

    looking for an engineer

I am looking for anyone in the Tucson area who can take my house plans from Microsoft Paint and make them all official like for cochise county to approve them so I can start building my house. I am not sure exactly what they need as far as structural engineering but was hoping to be able to sit down with someone who knows what they are doing so I can ask a bunch of questions and get the plans done right. Not looking for any discounts or anything like that I just would rather give my business to a guy on here. Thanks Daniel

    looking for an engineer

thats kinda what I am looking for, someone who can draw it out and work up the engineering or has some one to do that. any one know any one or companies here that does that? As far as the soil tests when I was talking to the county they said that they did not require a soil test for a foundation, only a perk test for the septic. I just want something that has a seal of approval so the county will approve it and i can go to work.

    .243 WSSM

I am getting just over 4300 fps out of my .223 wssm with 55 gr v-max. of course I have a 26 inch bull barell with a 1-7 twist. I have heard anything around 80-90 grains fly's good out of the 243 and the 60's are good for varmint. I am using the Berger VLD's in 90 grain out of my short mag for longer distance stuff and so far they seem pretty good and kill small game quick.

    Want to buy

Wel I have found one beleive it or not at the GoodWill here in Tucson for 20 bucks. I dont know how they got ahold of a copy?? thanks everyone and thanks anyway TAM. this sure is a big book

    Want to buy

Thanks for all the reply's. We are actually building in Cochise county just north of Benson and they reffrence the 2003 book on the Coshise county website. I guess if I worked from the 2006 book I would be ok? we are planning on being our own general contractors and our own sub-contractors as well. Between my dad, my close friends (or atleast they are now until I start the project ), and myself I think I got the majority of it covered. All I need to sub out is the septic and whatever the power and water company need to do to get utilities to the house. I just have my head spinning trying to talk to the county asking what I think are simply questions and they telling me to "look in the book" I guess they are just covering their own butt's can"t blame them for that. Oh and thanks in advance Terry (25-06) I have officially volanteered you to do my tile work for the low price of a twelve back of Bud and some Buffalo taco's
