Most, not all of these fires started, no matter the cause, nature, human, or scum bag! Are allowed to spread because there's a lack of urgency in forestry. To many regulations and red tape, just to clear and clean forest lands. I realize fires also are started in manzanita and junipers but that needs to be cleared just like the pine and oak country. If they allowed more logging, wood cutting, and clearing permits, fires would be greatly reduced no matter what the initial ignition source is. 100 + years ago if a fire started, Mother Nature cleared the land. Now a days with people living in the potential burn areas, we need proper and harsh management.

One in Wyoming, it was in the back of the guys truck that just shot it. Never seen a live one. -
This was brought up recently in another thread and I've been curious for awhile now. How do some of you folks afford to be off work to scout all the time, hunt every season that comes up, buy the best rifles, binos, tripods, quads, trailers, gadgets, etc.? Now don't take this as a jealousy thing or starting a fight thing. I'm honestly curious? I would consider my wife and I (no kids) middle-upper middle class. Not much debt, own our home and vehicles out right, have one credit card with a $500 limit which seldom is used,we're not extravagant people lol, ask those on the site that know us. I'd like to know what I'm doin wrong? Are you in debt to the hilt, family money, life insurance? Haha I don't mean to pry but really, can I change my habits to afford the thousands of dollars in gear some of you have?
-
what friends?? Haha. Every trip your invited on you turn down the offer. Get away from the wife every once in awhile. It's better than therapy!!
-
I wouldn't call it cheapo crap, you worked and paid for it. When I started this I had the mindset that everyone had 2 quads, a side by side, a nice camp trailer, hunt three states a year, etc. but it turns out most everyone who posted here is regular. Haha unless the intended crowd just hasn't commented yet! J/k

nope, not my truck. but it would be kinda neat to have seats in the back. your right, it is the end of the story, enjoy your day and your hunts and I'll do the same.

wow!! Ive had that happen too in unit 33, also had a bullet hit the dirt about 15 feet from my uncle and myself in unit 28. heard the shot after we saw the dust in front of us. we were over a mile from the road on the hackberry. so your grouping everyone who currently lives in a certain unit into one cateogry?

I always check my kills, if you don't, it's on your conscience. I couldn't shoot and not check but if you can? Have fun. -

I'm not tryin to give you a hard time, sorry If I come across that way. If I'm with my dad, I'm a road hunter (due to his health issues) if I'm alone... What road? I never saw it?? Some hunters swing both ways. My pops was killin and grilling before I was born and before alot of us were even thought of. I respect him for that and have learned to be humble and respect him. If you hate me for driving and ole man around on occasion to keep him young, I don't respect you one bit. If you understand where I'm coming from, then god bless you.
