Like outdoor writer said.. Twice the hunts with the tags split between the two doesn't increase draw odds. It no different than having the same hunt and same tag amounts. If you cut two apples in half, you still have two apples!

I didn't know that? Thanks for clearing it up for me. If I remember right (probably not) I have put in for early 27 and unit 1 in the past. My only 3 choices anymore are 1 or 27 1st and 2nd and 3b muzzle loader 3rd. I always remember having 3 choices on my app until this years draw I only put 2 choices because 27 wasn't an option.

The real trophy is the hunt itself, second is the freezer full of meat, third is the tasteless antlers. As stated earlier, If I made a bad shot and stuck with it for days on end I'd be proud to hang the antlers. If I had a tag and found a huge bull that had been shot and was rotten I wouldn't even think of cutting the head off and sticking a tag on it! That ain't hunting.

are you saying if you make a bad shot, look for 4 days and find it, is it yours? Or are you saying if someone else shoots it and Joe Schmo finds it 4 days later and claims it? I'd be proud to hang a trophy on my wall that I shot and found 4 days later. I'd be sick as heck if I lost the meat, most would be.

I still log in a few times a day and see a post or two of mine that you've "liked" and I know there's been atleast a few of yours that I have liked. I enjoy your old man knowledge and respect your perspective on alot of stuff. Believe it or not, I was on the phone last night with another cwt member and you came up. Unit 1, 27, and 3B used to be a triangle of awesomeness!! The res bulls and cows would cross freely and often all times of year, even hunting seasons. These units are still very good (especially the 1/27 border) but nothing like they were years back. I won't use the "greed" word but why raise the number of archery tags? And this year 27 early rifle is non existent but early archery hunts still go on as scheduled. Why take away the 25 rifle tags and still allow 100's of archery tags? I'm in no way an expert on managing wildlife but I'd prefer having a few less archery and maybe, a BIG! Maybe a few more early rifle tags. I'm guessing they give more archery tags because they assume success rates are lower with a bow? Archery equipment and hunters now a days are pretty dang good with their bows.

What about the guys who've been waiting for years for a trophy rifle tag? More hunters in the woods just before the rifle hunt isn't good. I may change my opinion after I draw a tag and kill a bull haha, nothin but cow (meat) hunts after that. I just want 1.

A different bullet but. I use Sierra 100grn spitzers with imr 4350 at 41.3 grains, cci primer and Winchester cases. Similar load for the 105 Bergers.

one shot, SCI changed the rule. You no longer have to minus caliber but it has to be steel shot or solid copper bullets. Radio use disqualifies your entry and they have to be free range. "Park" grasshoppers or high fenced hoppers don't count.

I don't know your situation personally but I have bought guns from there, new and used. In the beginning I had my CCW but it lapsed a few years ago and I bought guns since, no issues. I have a friend (30 years old) who had a juvi record 15 yrs ago in Cali, last ne is also Taylor. Very common name. He gets a hold put on him for every gun he buys. Like the store owner said, if you've had a hold once, be prepared. Has you brother had a hold before? The one thing I can agree with you on is the restocking fee on a used gun. However I can't comment since I don't know the whole story. Overall, 2nd amendment has been good to me personally with guns and othe stuff.

I dont really have a stance either way on this. However, I've seen sheep right in town in clifton/morenci. They dont mind being near houses and people there. they are rocky"s there though. does it make a difference?

Every year at this time we get the posts about lost bulls and bulls found dead. I will never harp on an archer because I know sh! T happens but yeah, seems like alot this year.
