Even if the grass is 2foot high most paved roads get mowed once a year, at least5 or so feet from the pavement. Some dirt graded roads get the same treatment. To save the hassle... If you happen to have a monster off the road that you can't pass up. Drive up the road aways then sneak off the road, shoulder, past the fence, whatever.. And get a guaranteed legal shot. Quite a few years ago they had a motronic decoy set up on the mule creek road about 80 yards off the highway. I stopped and got off the road more than legal distance and snuck to about 50 yards. Before I could shoot people started jumping out of the bushes and scared the crap out of me!!! They set it up for poachers and since I actually did it the right way I would have shot the fake deer in a direct line of where they were hiding!! I was pissed because they were completely ignorant and unsafe about the set up they had.

Is the android camera on your galaxy similar to an iPhone? The camera on my iPhone 3 is on the extreme top right side. I've been wondering how to make it centered on my binos without having to hold it and steadily adjust it by hand

I love the fact that you sat back and let him make the choice. Good job to both of you!

Edge, if you have a level rifle vice or a card board box with some "v" notches in it, and a distance of 25 yards give or take then you can do it naked eye. Sight down the barrel, calculate your scope height and bullet rise or drop at 25 and it'll get you on target. Lots of good articles on the internets about it.

Not sure what 520Hunt thinks but this is my take on it. I think the weapon of choice in Mexico has been and will always be the AK-47. The accessibility of the AK-47 is not in any way in short demand either. Also when you look at rebel groups around the world they tend to use the AK-47. It might come down not to accuracy, but to reliability. If your life depended on it and you saw two guns burried in the sand, which gun would you pick up and expect to fire over and over again without cleaning? Plus I'm sure price does factor into the equation... Sorry to start a AK-47 vs AR debate... just saying... I completely agree with you on everything you said but if they are US trained military gone rogue as stated previously I would figure they'd choose different. And as we know, with cartels, money and short supply don't exist.

Did he shoot a buck? -
Your an agent down south I'm guessing? Why would us military trained rip crew guys be using ak's, I'd assume they'd use a more accurate semi auto weapon? (Don't wanna get into the ak vs. ar argument) and why do you have to sound like such a smart as$? No ones saying that the danger isn't there, that Islam isn't crossing, that cartels aren't crossing, we're just saying that we'll take our chances, and if push comes to shove maybe one or two of them will get picked off before they get us.

What type of sound filter, or whatever was used? -
Got "talked to" by forest service canine unit this evening. Hunting dove south of I-10 shotgun in hand. "Put the gun down!!" Huh?? "Put the gun down sir, we need to talk" I says, "it's a nice shot gun, I'm not putting it on the ground, I'll gently lean it against the tree" they say "ok" forest service ask "watcha doin out here?" I say "dove hunting" he asks "do you have some sort of license or tag to prove it?" I chuckle and say yea. They tell me that they had a report of illegal activity in the area. Turned out to be two good guys just doing their job but any who knows me, knows I'm the furthest from looking like an immigrant!!!!

I'll be out at 4 am with the shotgun and 16 shells (incase one misfires) -
If a major attack happens and it's linked to the border, citizen outrage from all sides will start the security of our borders. It's sad that's what it will take bit the U.S. has become a retroactive state.
