Unit 33.. coming soon. Need help with getting there at night.
muledeerarea33? replied to varnco's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I'll use both, headlamp is pointed 10-15' ahead so I don't walk off a cliff, into cactus, a tree, the boogie man, etc. the stream light is at my feet (or a few feet ahead) for the closer dangers. Snakes, fences, Sasquatch's, what have you. Shut em off at the glassing or shooting spot or use a red lens. I'm usually early enough for a quick nap or quite breakfast before glassing. -
Very nice!! Congrats to her and everyone involved!

If your on horse back your good almost anywhere you go that holds coues in 27. 200 zero is good but be prepared to take shots 2-3 times that far if your comfortable doing so. Water is an issue in most AZ units so being near it is never bad. But there are hidden pockets all over so they may not be using water sources that are on a map. Find some land that looks good and hunt it. Being mounted means you'll be miles further than 95% of the people. Unless Scott and his boys have that hunt! Haha! They can out walk a horse!

My browning 243 about do for new barrel
muledeerarea33? replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Just curious, how did you determine it's due for a new barrel? What's it doing now that it didn't used to? And how many rounds? I ask because I shoot a .243 also and love it. Over 4k threw it and it still shoots very good. -
The one you can see out of best. My crappy eye balls keep me above the $600 range. I have friends with better eyeballs that do good in the $300 range. Only thing I will say is that heat waves suck on cheaper glass!

I've never done it but have had people do it to me. On one hand, if you see a parked truck on a road you would assume they are a mile or so away. On the other hand, if you see a truck on a road you would assume they are so close to the road that they can hear and see you coming. I just assume the latter and go to plan B. simply because I never know! I'd hate to end up shooting at or near someone because I wasn't sure where they were.

" Coues " Pronunciation
muledeerarea33? replied to muley224's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Just like the San fransico river, the slang is the frisco. Or ustacood "I was once able to" or for all intensive purposes "for all intents and purposes" most words and sayings are wrong these days but society accepts them. Right or wrong? Dumbing down of America? I don't know? I may of Misquoted words in this post. I ustacood spell and such but I became a stooge after schooling. -
I'll pm you.

awesome!! Do you give advice? My freezer is getting empty. Come on my deer hunt in December and find me the fattest coues in the country. Big antlers too but not a must

I'm not sure Craig's post is deep enough for popcorn. It may turn into that and if so, no salt and extra chili on mine!! I believe what he's saying is that most hunters do not hit a specific species enough in their life to be proficient. Some do but most don't. Non members read this website also and I imagine they learn a lot, especially from posts like this. Most (or some) members are experienced and knowledgable for those of you that are, add info and insight. Don't bash.

The stag is a complete lower with stock. The rock river is complete except the buffer spring stop and rear take down pin. It has a butt stock, tube and spring.

Lol it's all made from the same stuff. I sincerely wish you the best with your baby, they are hard to come by for some people.

Still for sale.

I wouldn't put a ceiling fan on the wall, find a place on the ceiling for goodness sake! Ha! Vice grips, or the 3-4 sided screw extractors work good.

Maybe a HAM hunt and you can both hunt together?

What tricks have you learned from other in camp?

Oh my how times have changed. The first page or two of this from 2009, baiting is now a no no, and the hunting fitness forum has made boca burgers popular again, good post, not sure how I missed it all these years
