Let's hear it vehicle options for momma ?

OP, what the purpose of it? Just her, kids, off road, multi purpose, soccer team (or football in frieking America!!) Subaru feels funny to drive and be seen in but they hold their own in reliability. Toyota might as well be American made except the tip of the profits go overseas. GM cars are doing really good to. As far as repair bills and maintenance goes if stay away from European unless you've got cash, overall prices are higher for parts and labor. Asian is said to be more reliable but the fact is they break as much as the next but cheaper to fix due to the amount sold. All the Americans are doing well for cars and small suv's with GM doing the best as far as repairs and cost if repairs. Pickups are a different story.

What was your most memorable Az Hunt

That foot never healed up? I went back to work before I should have. Never healed correctly. Had bone fragment in a fracture that aggravated the break a year after it happened that caused lots of pain and doctor bills.

What was your most memorable Az Hunt

Not my best hunt but a hunt I think about almost daily... Unit 32, 5 years ago. Started out with a guy shooting himself due to family issues. Didn't know him but talked to the sherif and a few other hunters way out in the sticks. Sad story. We ended up staying at the camp he killed him self at (not knowing entirely what happened at first) apperamtly he was in a cot when he did it and the cot was left there since it was new with no blood stains, no, we never touched it. The next day I was about a mile from camp and glassed back torawrds camp and saw deer. I walked back torawrds camp and when I was close I noticed the deer were on the opposite side of camp. I walked in and my buddy and I decided to circle around and maybe get a shot. I went low, he went high. I ended up under 100 yards from the buck bedded with a small 8' ledge in my way. I eased up the ledge and grabbed the top of the boulder. That's when about 500 pounds of the boulder cracked off and took me with it!! It landed on my foot. At this point I saw the scoriopins that had lived in the boulder crack and I jumped back lol. Needless to say the deer ran off and I hobbled back to camp and spent the next two days hunting. I finally couldn't take the pain and we started our drive out. On the way out my buddy spotted a deer and we stopped. It was 450 yards out and a small buck. He wasn't comfortable shooting that far so I told him if I shot it he'd have to go get it haha! Ended up he went and retrieved the spike I shot. Next stop was dropping off the meat at his house then the ER. Turned out I broke every bone in my foot and 3 toes!! Still hurts to this day.

    ROC Most Wanted

I understand that. I'm in an entirely different business that works the exact same way. I do auto and you all do houses (or commercial). If I have to hire a job out I either let them do it all, materials included or they tell me what I need to buy and how much. If I have to hire it out in the first place I have no business estimating what's needed, that's what I'm payin for. My problem had been the lack of willing to work. I never knew contractors practiced that way until this forum. When the housing market went to heck and I was building I thought people would jump on the chance for work but now I know why they didn't.

dang, I never knew it was like that. I figured a person building their own would only use the best of quality materials. I mean, it's only your home! Thanks for the inffo.

PointGuard, good idea or money making scam?

I'm not in the "it's legal so it's moral crowd" being the first of the month I saw lots of people using their snap card for junk food and sodas. Just cause it's legal, doesn't make it right. Point guard like gov assistance programs are set up for those who legitimately need it, not for those who want to work the system just because someone else will work it first. That's what's wrong with this country.

    ROC Most Wanted

I've been building a house for a while now, paying cash as I go and doing almost all the work myself. In the beginning I was looking for a concrete convector and after calling 6 I got one to actually show up for a bid. I like him and his price so he did my slab and it turned out nice. Tried to contract a crane operator to lift my 50' trusses but 3 companies would not give me a bid or return my calls. Stucco! Haha! 5 different guys including 2 different companies that I saw doing stucco in my neighborhood never called back. One actually came out to take measurements but he was never heard from again. My under slab plumber (local guy) was awesome, concrete guy was awesome (both licensed) my shingle amigo (unlicensed) was awesome. I'm not sure if it's where I live but I haven't had good luck with contractors in general licensed or not. The ones That have been good are from this site or found in the yellow pages.

    Paleo Diet

So 16oz of rot gut whiskey straight on ice every night is good or bad? What is "moderate consumption?" Steaks and bacon and eggs are cool as long as I don't have toast? I'm confused?

I had no idea plastic was a cash crop. I've been doing aluminum for years. Is it any plastic bottles or specific types?

Anyone else heading to the high country?

I swapped a RTA96C-14 into my gmc. It's got more power than most small towns use.

    Homemade Spring

Nice! I've never thought of that when I see mud in a dry time of year. I made one at my place though. Hose bib drips and I'm too lazy to replace it so I dug a hole and the hose keeps it full. Deer, birds, javelina, rabbits, and dogs are what I've seen drinking there but I have bobcat tracks as well.
