Man, the kids are putting the smack down on the birds this season! Way to go Dad, I sure hope you finally got your lifelong huntin' buddy on board 100%! -
Loved the video. Way to document your hunt. I bet you looks at it over and over. Congratulations!

Man! That's REALLY REALLY REALLY spectacular that you got to experience this hunt with both of your parents! So rare to do here in Az and you three did it in splendid fashion. Big time congratulations!

Cute boys you have there. Funny how they kept the dove for the ride home! Great memories.

Always love reading your posts about your high country adventures. One of these days I'm tagging along!! -
Congratulations. The big guys will be there again next year and may present you an opportunity. Having this kill under your belt will assist with your confidence for when that trophy does present a shot. Plus, like others have said, he's great table fare!

Some really great ideas here guys. It's always nice to see what has been working for people with cooking wild game. Some of the biggest hurdles to overcome are done by trial and error. Threads like these definitely cut to the chase and show us all what works!

That was funny! (I have a dinner planned at Fogo De Chao at the end of Sept) Very good, but not the best.

I never have. I've actually never marinated dove breasts much before at all. As long as I process the birds as quickly as possible, and chill the meat promptly, I've never really had a need to. I do enjoy the mild liver taste that comes from dove meat. (I really enjoy the aroma of cooking actual beef liver & onions but can't eat it for some reason) I simply season the meat with dry seasonings, dust lightly in flour, and sear them in olive oil. I'm curious now, have you tried it Oneshot? NEVER overcooking is the main ticket. you can have everything else perfect, but if you overcook it, it's bad.

Make your voice heard ---- wolf comments
Chef replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
You guys hit the nail on the head. With so many comments from the anti's, it looks like they are the majority. You and I can see the biased and emotional reasoning to their decisions, but not everyone does. Make your voice heard, wildlife depends on it. -

Wow. Thanks for the heads up! -
Gentlemen, This issue has been corrected and the original poster followed up with... "...thought I would post and let you know what ended up correcting the problem. I called RCBS and they send me a new seating lug and they polished it before sending it at no charge. It worked with no problems."

CW Dove Season Get Ready - Cheap Shotgun Shells Just Arrived
Chef replied to Healy Arms's topic in The Campfire
I swung by Healy Arms today after work and loaded up on shotgun shells for the dove opener. The store looks GREAT! It was nice catching up with Mark and the friendly staff at the shop. Just a heads up for all of you that still need to pick up your shells!- 9 replies

Does anyone know for certain that this herd consisted of wild elk and was not a farm raised elk population?
-
Congratulations. The first is always special. I've yet to even hunt them!
