Tim! Man...what a couple of months it's been for you! Big time congratulations on another beautiful buck and your biggest to date. That's so cool that you have the trail cam sequence too. We'll be talking soon!
-
That's gonna make a great "come back to" video down the road for you. Sweet memories right there.

Way to go Elijah! Man, you are starting off the year right! Hopefully you draw some deer and elk tags too so you can put the smack down on em.

Nice photos. Congratulations to you and your son. That's a big pig!

Chef replied to John O's topic in Youth Hunters
Fantastic Aubrey! So much preparation and excitement leading up to your hunt. Welcome to the club! I look forward to seeing more posts of you in the future young lady! -
Heavy piggy, great smile, with a Marlin no less...way to go!

Way to go Keven. Nice of you guys to make the best of it. That wide buck certainly adds to your collection! I still can't believe how much hiking you guys were able to pack into your week at Justo's ranch. That ranch is immense, and can be pretty rugged. Congratulations again my friend!

Kevin is a great guide and ultra nice person. I've shared meadows (while I was in Duwane Adams camps) in the past alongside HPO. They have a way to being the trophies back and have fun doing it. Welcome and thanks for the sponsorship!

One thing to note that is very important is, make sure you know where your thermometer probe is reading from. For example, some probes take their reading from the tip, others from a section halfway up the probe shaft. You'll see the "crimp" along the shaft if its the latter. So, when probing the meat, you want to take the internal temp from the center most portion. Make sure you aren't probing too far if your thermometer reads from the tip, and make sure you insert the probe needle far enough, if it reads along the shaft. To answer your first question, probe the meat in the oven, skillet, whatever. No need to remove from heat. Try not to probe the meat unnecessarily as you'll just make the meat bleed out then. As for ground meat, you won't probe the meat, but more than likely, you'll be at over 165*f once its browned and on the stovetop for a while.

That looks great! I like that you took a sequence of photos. This is one of my favorite things about hunting, enjoying the table fare. Thanks so much and keep enjoying your harvest!

Yes! Happy Birthday Doug! Eat well and enjoy your day, wherever you may be.

Tim! Congrats again man! Heck of a buck and what dreams are made of right there! So cool that your boys were there to enjoy the hunt. Best of luck filling your second tag. It looks like your hard work is paying off.

The kill shot footage is spectacular. Congratulations on harvesting a stellar buck. That's so sweet that you guys found him bedded on the N facing slope after watching him disappear. I have enjoyed all of your videos and I think this one beats out your Barbary video by just a hair. The kill sequences on your videos are what I enjoy and generally find lacking in other people's footage. (including mine) I know the reviews are mixed, but I for one really like the music. Probably because I'm so familiar with your choices, that I know when the shot is coming. Brings and adds so much to the forums. Thanks!

Coach, You ain't kidding! I'm just getting around to reading about all the youth hunters and am pleasantly surprised at all the stories! Kudos to everyone out there taking the kids out! I was fortunate enough to hunt with my nephew this year for his first hunt and it sure is a blast getting the kids out.
