Keep on doing what's working! 👍

Yes, tried and true. NY CIA '94. Dry brining gives you a good dry surface area for searing (like your cast iron) Reason is the salt draws out moisture from the steak surface. If you brine for too long, you draw out more moisture and start getting a product that is too salty. I have dry brined hundreds of salmon filets for Lox. I used to get all kinds of results from different cure times etc.

Are you in the valley? PM me if so.

I will salt the steaks right before they go in the hot grill. I’m not a fan of putting salt in my overnight rubs/marinades as it dehydrates the meat.

I’ve got these bad boys sitting in rosemary, black pepper, and garlic for tomorrow’s dinner.

Wish I would have known Stan. I stopped in Hatch NM just last week. I would have happily brought back a sack for you. They were already starting with this season's harvest just like you stated.

This was about the only time I literally laughed out loud while surfing the net. (Sorry Tim!)

Might need to call him in… ”The 7mm-08 is superior over the .270 Winchester”

At least my porch isn’t leaking. 🤙🏼

Yes Stan, that is exactly what happened, we migrated from the coues section of MonsterMuleys soon after Allen shared the site. We had an Az forum all to our own and in the beginning, it was a "who's who" of the Az hunting community. We've been fortunate to see several members move onto successful guiding ventures, others tagged record book game, it's been a ride.

Congratulations!

If you are out in the desert and guys on your crew already have these types of CLICK HERE for Rugged radios then you are that far ahead with the Baofeng. You can program them to match the blue radios that the desert race guys use.

Subscribed to this thread. I too have been looking to buy a new rangefinder. I currently run a Leica 1600 and it's been slower and slower every season. I want something with auto angle adjustment, and I too have been leaning towards the Kilo5K. Hunting buddy of ours has it and it has a cool feature where it connects to your phone, and you can mark waypoints with the laser. So if you down an animal, you can hit the location, save to the map, and go right to it. I saw the Kilo5K on sale last year priced in the $400's. I am waiting for this to happen again and I'm buying unless someone posts other advice.

We got hit with +/-2700 individual spam posts from over 90 different accounts overnight. Thanks to those of you that alerted us to the issue. I also got a late-night text from Ernesto C but didn't see it until 5AM. As Stan mentioned, a stricter new member verification process has been put in place that should help.

Looks like he lived a fulfilling and adventurous life! That non-typical Eastern whitetail is sweet.
