whats the funniest thing thats happened
Chef replied to ultramag's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Several years ago we were hunting dove here in AZ. Hunting the ranches and their fields. Anyway, I was with my brothers, one of which was close to 300 lbs at the time. Not very athletic either. So we come to one of them dirt irrigation canals that had water in it recently and looked like "dry clay" mud but was slippery and wet at the top. So we all jump the ditch and wait for my heavy bro to make his move. He gets as close to the center as he can as to not have to jump so far. He does his jump and lands in the muddy ditch...face first!! It was hilarious! His boots were on the opposite bank stuck in the mud! The suction had held them whilst he lept out of them. We still laugh about it to this day. AAAHHHH...the memories. -
Do you have some money burning a hole?
Chef replied to BASS's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I went with a friend from MM.com last night. He introduced me before to the gentleman that owned a lot of the mounts in there. Low and befold we saw him there too. Even the four full mounted sheep in the entrance are his. Hard to believe he had them all in his house before this. -

Just got back. They all look the same! LOL Didn't spend any money...yet. -
Gonna keep my sticker on until I can piss off someone at USO when seeing it. Good news for AZ residents. I still think there is a conspiracy against me and the draw though.

Was a Chef for many many years. Got the entrepreneurial spirit and went on my own in a different field. Fast forward to now. I've been working for a John Deere distributor since 2006. CP Sales Manager for 8 states we're in. I enjoy what I do tremendously. Regards, Chef

Tough dealings my friend. I do hope you don't suffer much more than you already have. Without our health, we have nothing. Take care of yourself and the hills will be there for another day. Get better soon, Chef

Okay guys. I need to step in here and say something. I am sure the rest reading this agree. We don't need any pissing matches on this forum. If we are going to start calling eachother names and start threatening one another, then we shouldn't be posting in the first place. There are such things as private messages that you can send to do that. I am not thin skinned in any sense but also don't like to see threads turn to garbage and bring down the quality of the forums. Amanda can pull the post all together, or actually ban people from posting. That is not what everyone wants. We all have qualities that bring a different perspective to the site. It would be a shame to lose valuable info and experience. Don't lower the standards Amanda has set for her forum. Regards, Chef

Have the San Carlos elk tags go up for auction. They will go for way more than $35k.

Excellent and beautiful buck! Much deserved congratulations. Chef

Interesting topic. On our last elk hunt, my Father dropped an elk only to have him get up and bolt after ten minutes of celebration. It was a classic and great hunt up to that point. I had dropped my bull one hour prior and my Father had just come in too see it. I heard a bugle in the distance and called his bull into 100 yards. Needless to say, you can imagine the celebration that commensed. Only to have the SOB get up and run off! Both him and I (me mostly) scoured the countryside (GPS units in hand) for three full days. (took me that long to pack my bull out of that hellhole) My Father never once took a rifle afield again on that hunt. I wouldn't feel right either. Guess it depends on a lot of things, the reaction of the animal to the shot, amount of blood, etc. Merry Christmas. Chef

Nice Cherokee. You definitely want to stay away from ABS if you are offroad. You have a four wheel drive and doing what you do, you will see plenty of moments when you are happy without the ABS. Congratulations....and yes, I know how you feel about "Falling in Lurve" with our vehicles! Yup, that sticker stands out for sure! If you see a roof racked Trooper (with an anti-USO sticker on the rear window) honk at you, it's yours truly!! Chef
