Amanda, I had a ton of fun and it was great to meet such great new friends. Stan told me something that I will never forget... We were talking about how everyone we meet though her seems to be a truly great person with love and devotion to the outdoors. "She is a really good judge of character, and surrounds herself with good people" is what Stan said. So true. One thing I might add is that all her friends are really, I mean REALLY good looking! So here is to Stan, Doug, Jed, and Ginger!...oh and can't forget Rica! Thanks Again Amanda.

Thanks Again! RR: That's exactly what I figured was going to happen. The muzzy hunters must be having a field day. Stan: You can play me a tune at the next campfire! AZPH: We will probably go out to dinner tonight. Don't know where just yet, but the guys/gals here at work are taking me out to lunch too! They sure know what keeps me happy...food! Amanda: I sure wish I was out in them hills. (note to self...go green!...[inside joke]) Snapshot: It ain't a real B-Day unless you have two! Phil: sent you a PM...

Thanks! I'll be working unfortunately, but God has blessed me with enough days to keep me happy, and great friends & family to share it with. I'll do my best to have an easy day. Chef

I got back from her camp yesterday to a BUSY work schedule. I spoke with her again after her morning hunt today and she got into them pretty good. No shot was taken but I have a good feeling she will be flingin' an arrow soon. The rut is sloooooooowwwwwllllyyyy swinging into a slllloooooowwww start. She is grinding through and hunting hard every day. I will let her tell the story on her hunt when she gets back. I am one of you guys waiting for good news now too!

Casey, Next time, fillet the thing along the backbone. You will see you get nice long strips. Like DB said, batter and fry. It comes out very delicious served with any sauce you like for dipping. Nice to see you tried it though.

That's a great bull! 23 has got some nice ones. I think it's a pretty under rated unit IMO. Congratulations!

Doug, much congrats on your success! Too bad the buck you were after was taken. You still did real good! I know you were exhausted when you got back home too. Just makes for better memories. Congratulations again.

Well, I'm back to the daily grind of work. (for now) I will be heading over again to help at the end of the week. Stan, it was great to meet you as well. You are a mighty fine guitar picker and you definitely made the campfires that much more enjoyable! I hope you can make it up again. What Stan said about the rut being SLOW was right, and unfortunately that carried over to Sunday. I believe it will kick in later on in the season. These bulls needed A LOT of persuasion to let us know where they were. We did get into a big herd bull yesterday morning. Once he started bugling he was very vocal and answered my calls on a dime. They were moving fast though and although we paralleled for over a mile, we couldn't close the deal. Amanda did get within 100 yards of him partially seeing his rack but them elk can climb faster than us! Amanda is hitting it hard. She will do what she needs to do to close the deal on the big boy. She's a 'bonified' bugler now too! She has been a great host and camp chef as well. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to tag along. The weather is still pretty warm and the forecast shows it staying that way. The moon is full and bright too. It's still better than work. I wish I was still up there. ...to be continued...next week?...
