I think it depends on if the heart went into cardiac arrest while it was dying or not. I have seen many of both. THE WAY YOU COOK HEART IS.... cut and trim off all fat and silver skin! Slice into strips about 1/2". Or desired thickness. I like mine about 1/2" by 3". Then bread it in flour and fry it in a little butter. (butter, not oil) Add salt and pepper to taste. It is great as a breakfast meat. Or cook it with onions and vegies for a dinner plate. Don't mock it tell you try it! It's awesome!

We had 7 coues tags in our Oct camp and took 5 bucks. The two of us that didn't tag out passed on many bucks holding out for a whoper. We saw bucks every day except for the last day, Ha ha, go figure. In camp we had to kids take spikes and then we took an 82" a 95" and a 105" . What a great time! I'll try to post some pictures. Some more

No they don't have big ones. Guys with big ones earn an honest living! That tottaly sucks! I'm sorry that has to happen to anyone. Once we were going hunting and had my brother in law's truck warming up on Thanksgiving morning. We had all of our hunting stuff (back packs, guns, binoes etc.) loaded up and someone stole the truck! After we called the cops I tracked the truck onto the rez. I called the cops back and told them where they had gone. They said they couldn't do anything about it I told them they had stolen a truck load of guns, and I had a truck load of guns and was going after them, so they had better do something about it! That got them real excited and real busy! I tracked them for several miles and up to two differen't homes. They had already left so I tracked them out to the interstate where I lost there track. 5 hours latter they crashed the truck in Phonix and totaled it. They were drunk and ran a red light crashing into a family car full of kids and there parents on there way to Thanksgiving dinner. The drunk car thieves got out and ran. The one that was running down the streets of Tempe with my deer rifle in hand was cought. I got everything back except that gun. The family hat was hit were all critical the last I herd. I don't think any died. I hate thieves!!!!!! I was out for blood that day! I tracked like a madman accross dirt and pavement. I was out to make an arrest at gunpoint! And I sure as heck wasn't about to let anyone shoot at me with my own gun ! I hate the way they made me feal like shooting them! I just missed catching them and I know now that it was truly a blessing that I didn't So I feal for you. That realy sucks! I'm sorry the kids were involved. I hope they relize there are good people out there also! Lance -

HOLY COW! You were hunting and actually found a bear allready up a tree!!!!! Do you relize the odds of that? Go ahead and ask arround to see how many people have just stumbled on a bear that was allready up a tree. That is so cool! you lucky dog! What was up that tree that had him up there in the first place? Congrats, that is a great bear! Lance

Hunted down in the 36's in Oct. There were hunters everywhere! Hunters walking the ridges, walking the fingers, walking the bottoms. And if any of them were sitting, they were not glassing. Thats right, no one was glassing! So we sat and glassed up bucks every day right under their noses! Our camp took five bucks- two were spikes for young hunters and there first Coues. One was a 82" 3pt, one a 95" 3pt and one a 103" 3pt. Sure glad no one else was glassing!

Stick with the ballistic tips for those big rounds with Coues deer! That way you don't just poke a hole through.
