WOW! Great story! I feal like I was there! My eyes hurt, I feal sundurn't and windblown. I'm all scratched up from the buck brush and cat claw, I got dirt in places I didn't remember I had and desert grass splinters in those I know all too well. My boots are worn and dry and my joints hurt. I'v got bruises form a heavy laden pack, a couple of falls and that rock under my sleaping bag. I'm hungry and got a thirst that could drain the watterhole! I got old sweat from my head to my toes an blood up to my ears. I scratch the grit from my teeth and can tast the blood under my fingernails, it brings a great smile to my dried out face and cracks my lip! And I bow my head and thank my Father in Heaven for the lot of it! Ahhh... Coues Country! I cant wait to get back! And then I realised I was home and was just reading Amanda's story Wow! Thanks Again! And congrats on a GREAT BUCK!!!! Lance

I did not get to be there on this hunt cause I was Coues hunting with the family. But my friends turned out some cool stories and pictures from the Oct Kaibab hunt. For those who like to look at muley pictures I thought you'd like to see these. For the most part the Bab was a zoo! A buckless zoo! But we got lucky and found some hunny holes that were loaded up! I know I'm slacking I should have gotten it long agao, but my plans keep changing and now hear I am looking for help. Is there a place in Glenwood on Hwy 180 to obtain the deer licence / habitat stamp? And would it be open on a Sunday? Or where is the nearest place? We always get them in Reserve but I'm not looking at going through Reserve. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Lance

That just ain't right PJ Do the words Mange, Mad Coues, CWD (Coues Wasting Disease) Or any of that strike your gag reflex? Likely it will be fine but I would have it checked out and tested before I cut into a steak! Just in case. Lance

Well, thats nothing! I heard that a huge buck was, was... OK, I must be the only one that didn't hear anything I'v been in the woods But now that I am on CWT.com I have heard it all! Lance

I wondered around looking for deer and the type of Coues deer hunting and glasing areas that I like to hunt. I was there Monday, Teusday and Wednesday morning. So 2 1/2 days. I spent alot of time finding out that there were no Coues deer in some areas But thanks to a couple of good people (Red Rabit and others) who made some suggestions on where to hunt and I was able to spend some quality time in some good country. I saw lots of Whitetail and three little bucks. I did not shoot anything, but, I did find where I am going to shoot big ones from now on! I cant wait to find out more about the country I saw and cant wait to go back! Thanks for asking, I wish I had some pictures to share this time. I plan on having some next time of corse! Lance

Thanks to a post by "Josh" caled "Lion in a canyon" I now can put the correct name to what I saw in the 36's in Oct! I thought I was going crazy I got a real good look at it and thought it was a mountain at first. But it was too small, short, stout and too dark for a lion. So I thought it might be a Coati. I have seen plenty of Coati and I just couldn't convence myself it was a coati. Not to mention it didn't have a long face! I joked around camp that I had seen a black Jaguar but wasn't quite convinced of that ether. After reading Josh's and Matts post I googled Jaguarundi and saw lots of pictures! And shure enough, that is exactly what I saw! No doubt about it! Way cool! Before I was fealing kind of stupid cause I couldn't corectly identify an animall I had seen in the woods and gotten a good look at! Now I know why! I know these are rare but it sounds like several are spoted every year. Has anyone here ever seen one or know or heard of anyone who has? Lance

Put a better trail cam on that spring or one with video option! There is quite a bit of info on the AZGFD.gov website as well. They say they have no concrete evedence (No sculls or hides) but there have been many sightings in AZ. You could be the first with concrete proof! I had read about them before and have seen pictures but seeing one in the woods just didn't click in my head tell now Lance

CRAP! Yes I think a couple of those are a Jaguarundi. Way cool! Crap I say cause I think I saw one down on our OCT hunt. I couldn't decide if it was a mountain lion or a Coati. We did see a lion in the area twice but it was always totaly easy to tell it was a huge lion. Wat I saw was built and walked like a cat, but was darker than a lion and smaller. And I could not see the long nose of the Coati. It held its tail strait out and not down like a lion and not up like a Coati. And it was not a fuzy tail like a Coati. It through me for a big loop but I finaly convenced myself it must have been a Coati..... a Coati....that looked, walked and had a flat nose like a cat I'm guessing I was not as crazy as I thought I was thanks to your jag pictures! Thanks Lance PS, yours could be a kiten defenetly does not have the arched rodent type back of the Coati! It is not as dark as the one I saw. PS again! I just googled Jaguarundi and saw lots of pictures and shure enough! That is what is saw down in the 36's in Oct! Way cool! Thanks! It was driving me crazy not knowing what I saw! Way cool! I watched if for a while too, it was walking accross an opening and then accross the tailings from an old mine. Got to watch it walk a long ways and still couldn't figure it out tell now! Lance
