As important or even more important as the rifle for long range is the scope you put on it!!!! The best scope you can afford with dial up turrets!!!!! Veriable scope with higher than 10 power!!!! Put a bi-pod on it! Make sure you have the best range finder you can afford as well!!! Shooting accurately at long range begains first with a range finder!!! Get a gun you can afford to shoot hundreds of rounds out of. I shoot a 7mm RUM and it is an awesome gun, I get 3700fps out of my 26" barrel. And the 140 gain slug at that speed will kill a Coues at a thousand yards by hitting it in the hoof! But my point is, is that now the amo is sooo expensive that I cant afford to shoot and practice with it enough to know how to sight it at a thousand yards. So get something you can afford to shoot allot! Lance

If you don't chase deer down from your house with your bare feet and neked body and kill them by biting them on the back of the neck then apparently you are unethical! Or maybe your ethics should be kept to yourself? Hunt within the law, the way that makes you feal good about yourself. Because men were made to use tools! Plain an simple folks! Salt and feed are tools just like guns, trucks, calls, boots, camo's and your underwear! The fact is that they are continually taking away and applying restrections! Whether or not this rumor is true dosen't really matter. Hunters fighting amongst theirselves over personal ethics gives them the amo they need to keep taking from us. If it is not this then it will be something else. Pritty soon there wont be anything left! We need to keep it all if we are going to end up with any hunting in the end. If the G&F says we wanted more opportunity, that is because we wanted more added to what we already had! Not to take away what we had and make something stupid out of it! For instance.... I don't care if you hunt varmits with asualt rifles or not. Dont vote to have that baned! Because that is just one more thing taken away from hunting that will make room for the next to be taken away. And the next might effect you directly! And whether you like it or not, that is how it works! So I suggest we all stand for everything hunting that we still have, while we still have something to stand for! Lance

A $5.00 feeding permit! Bwaahahahahaaa Now there is an $IDEA$ you know they would think about! And they know we would all pay it to. Because we are passionate about hunting. And they continue to take advatage of our passion. You got to wonder how long they will continue to take away from us in the name of "opportunity"

They will bite off something they cant inforce by outlawing salt. People started using salt because they saw natural salt/mineral licks being used. Cattle salt is everywhere. Who is to say and determin whitch of the thousands of mineral licks out there are natural or not. Some have been there for 50 years and will be there for 50 more. Are they going to outlaw ranchers from putting out blocks? How many tanks out there will you not be able to hunt because there is a cattle salt likc on it? Gee officer, I was hunting the watter hole, not the salt. So if a hunter finds a good trail to sit on, then is he to determin that in no where in the world does that trail ever lead to or come from some salt lick some where? Natural or man made. Who is to say that a natural salt has never been suplimented. They will have to ticket thousands of innocent hunters that didn't know there was a saltlick nearby because there are so many thusands of developed salt licks already out there. You will no longer be able to hunt the Kiabab because there is a salt lick every 50 yards. How I ask? HOW? I have hunted salt before. I'v done it since I was a kid. I personally have never taken an animal over salt. Wow! Big success rate there! I dont have anything against salt but I do know That is one that is too solidly ingrained into our forests and is better left untouched. There are much easer ways to decrease hunter success than trying to inforce that.
