A nature lovin hippie once told me....
Lance replied to Lance's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Welcome to the site! But don't blame me for your new addiction! Lance -
I was talking to this total granola loving, sandal wearing, peace sign, rainbow shirt, deadlock haired , save the whales type hippie one day. We were talking about how he was a big time "nature lover" and that I too was a big time "nature lover." We were talking about how we loved to experience nature at its finest. We talked and shared our obvious deferences with good conversation. And then he admitted that I knew more about nature than he did. He explained that I had experienced nature for what nature "really is!" This caught me a little off guard by his admittance . Then he said that he would like to hunt and take a deer some day at least once. "Because" he said " That is what nature is really about and if you don't participate in the hunt and the kill then you will never truly know nature" Now, "we" know this. But I had respect for him that day because of the way he grew up and the crowd he hung out with, he was still able to realize what nature "Really Is" and be touched by it! So if you want to leave nature alone, and keep it as it was meant to be! The get out there and participate in the hunt!!!!! Maybe there is hope for some of them? Lance

I didn't take him hunting and don't know where he is at now, but gave him all the info he needed to get started. It was on a Game and Fish Job that I did several years ago where we had to camp out and do bird serveys. I did cook him elk heart and fresh rattle snake! Of which he loved both! He loved the "Tom Brown" books As do I We started fires in camp with stick rubbing methods. He thought that was pritty cool too. Yes, I would call him a hippie to his face and he had his names for me to. But Were all brothers in the end. Hope he comes to relize That, some day. Lance -
Nice! For a second I thought "How can only 3.2 of them be 200 pounders?" Then I realised, Ha ha, someone must of had an Ultra Mag! Lance

The majority of FS roads are inpassable and or closed! Mud and snow drifts and more and more mud and snow! Many people trying to get out find their selves stuck, tearing up roads and getting tickets for it! If you get out, Good luck but Don't be one of them! Lance

I got pictures of a few (not all, sorry) of the CWT.com members that stoped by our booth to say hi to my wife Carrie and I. I lost my list that said who everyone was and think I had a few of them mixed up with there CWT.com names anyways, so I'll let you name them off. If you recognize any of these funny guys or if it is you speek up! We got to see some old friends and meet some new ones, thanks for stopping by! We had a ball at the show! Christian, thanks again for helping us load up! We were right accross from Jim White's booth so we got to chat with him and Amanda some also. It was good to meet all of you! I hope you can all make it to the June Get-together! Lance

I got my boys the "Browning Micro Midas" and or "Adrenaline" and 6 or more of there cousins have them as well! Boys and girls alike. These bows are awesome for kids and have such a broad range of addjustment that they can shoot it untill they are adults! These bows are not cheap toys and when turned up to legal poundage they will zip through a deer no problem! These bows can be set to fit the smalest kids and will also shoot the "Pointy Arrows!" The heck with the application fee. All those nonresidents had to buy a $151.25 hunting license and that is what this is about. $$$$$ WAKE UP PEOPLE! THIS SHOULD BE A NO BRAINER FOR THE G&F AND CABELAS. HERE IS WHAT SHOULD BE DONE PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!!!! Both sides need to realize that the backlash from accepting or trying to get the apps accepted will completely outweigh any benefit from getting them accepted!!! What needs to be done is all too simple! The AZGFD needs to say "NO" and the outcome will be better for our wildlife and their money in the long run! Simple. And Cabelas needs to forget about getting the apps accepted and in some way make ammends with their clients. Spending the money to make ammends and kiss up to their TAGS clients will be far cheaper than the backlash they will receive from pushing the tags on the G&F. And that is the Simple answer that will be best for everyone in the end. It's a "No Brainer"! PS. I am hiring out as a "Customer Service Consultant" so if the G&F, Cabelas or anyone else wants to hire me then let me know! Lance

2nd annual Flagstaff area CWT get together!
Lance replied to Lance's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
Hey! Someone finally posted on this thread again! I thought I scared ya all off with the hundred yard shot thing. I shot my bow in January a couple of times and haden't touched it since September before that so I'm sure my 100 yard groops are great and would still double lung an elephant every time! YES 100 yards with real blades. (any legal brodhead) It adds to the flavor of the shot (and the miss. ) Gives everyone somthing more to laugh at! Another archery contest we will do is the "everyone picks a shot contest." This rotates around the group of shooters and when it is your turn you pick the spot where everyone will take the next shot from. This is always a fun contest and can get tricky and very creative ! No restrictions on this contest! Shoot whatever bow and arrow setup you want! Lance
