Sweet! I saw one of those up by Williams It was so cool I got out my camera! And then we saw two more in the same groop! And then there were some all tan phase ones and then a total black one! But it was the white one that poped out that made me put the camera away and drive off shaking my head! Lance

Sorry for the offense Scotty. My post was to anyone who thinks that they need to cuss on this site or anyone who wants to argue againts Amanda about it. If thats not you then as you said, why "The long winded attempt to get your opinion across"? If thats not you then I'm not talking to you. I said that his post reminded me of a guy. And that is just what it did, it reminded me of a guy and I shared the story. I never said this is Scotty. And I am glad you are not that kind of guy Scotty. Everyone, Scotty is not that kind of guy, sorry if my story insued that. To Casey- I would have to say that 95% of the people I have hunted with have had no need for a cuss word in the field while hunting and have refrained from doing so. And have not lost any feal for the hunt in doing so either. And I have hunted with a wide variety. Point is, is that everyone has been asked to refrain from typing it on CWT. Like I said, I let one slip once in a while too, but cuss words can't "Slip" off of your fingers on a keybord like words from a mouth. Cuss all you want but just don't type it on Coueswhitetail.com thats all. I am glad that you disagree about the drunken hunter as well! To everyone else- Yes I shared my opinion. I was asked to, and that is who I am. I was asked because of who I am. And I will always do my best to stick to my beliefs. Those who know me, know I have no high horse and am a humble man who tries to be a good man. No one is perfect and all we can do is try. If my attempts to try to be better offend anyone then guess what? Not my fault. Yes, I dont think anyone, no matter who they are, should cuss. There I said it! woo woo dig deal. Im not gona force it on anyone. If that thought makes anyone think they are lower than me or makes me look like I am on some high horse then I'm sorry, that is your fault and not mine. That is my openion and I don't think it is such a big deal. I'm not gonna physically force it on you. If I were, then you would have something to talk about. If you were to try to force me to cuss then the same thing. Like I said above! My post was directed to anyone who thinks they need to cuss on this site or anyone who wants to argue against Amanda about it. If that is not you then fine, good for you! If it is you, "then My opinion is", that you owe Amanda an apology. Once again, Amanda this is a good site! It is the Best and you are taking it in the right direction! Merry CHRISTmas to everyone! Lance

Oh Wow,,,,,,, Where to start,,,,,, I usually try not to get in on subjects that might offend anyone, but this one has been brought to my attention and my opinion requested! And I am a true believer that the truth hurts, and if you are offended then it is your own fault! SO I'm not gonna beat around the bush and just lay it out straight up! First of all "It is a weak man who cannot control his tongue". And even weaker who cannot control his typing fingers. There really is no place in our language for cussing other than a weak mind and vocabulary that cannot express itself any other way. Some people sound so stupid when they F their F'n F's that you just feel sorry for them. Sorry but the comment about "this is an outdoor site, and outdoorsmen cuss, and so we should just all be allowed to be a bunch swearing rednecks as we type" is the saddest comment I've heard in a while. Really now, Is that the picture you have in your mind of "the perfect outdoorsmen". That reminds me of the guy I saw the other day with his son on a youth hunt. He was drinking and driving dangerous mountain roads with lots of other traffic. And then he grabbed the gun in one hand and with his beer in the other hand he led his son up a small hill next to the road to look for deer. I could hear his loud foul mouth from where I sat. How sad it was to see what that young boy was being taught. So for your information NO that is not the definition of an "Outdoorsmen" . Yes, there are children on this site! Lots of them! And I'm sorry if you think it is OK to cuss in front of children but it is NOT! Don't try to justify it. Its Not. I am not saying that I never swear. I try my hardest not to, and except for the rare hammer on the thumb or dropping a slice of Christmas pie on the floor I don't swear at all. And even if I slip one out I feel like an idiot and apologize for it. BUT I just don't understand why, when someone is typing on a computer, why they wouldn't just take the time to type Something Else. And then, to go out of their way to type all the "!$^#&^" like it somehow makes it better. Can you not refrain just out of common courtesy, and respect ? That is what should describe the Outdoorsmen, Courtesy and Respect! That is what describes a Real Man, Why not an Outdoorsmen. And I cant believe that nothing has been said about swearing in from of Women!!!!!!!! It is NOT OK! If you missed that one growing up then I am sorry. But here it is for you now, learn it and apply it! And when it comes right down to it, it doesn't matter if you don't believe in being kind and respectful. Bottom line is that this is Amanda's site!! (Who happens to be a woman!) And Amanda says "NO SWEARING ON THIS SITE!!!!!!" If you cant handle that, then just don't touch the keys and keep it to yourself! I cant believe that there even has to be a program to control the cuss words! Do we really need to be babysat that way? If you can have the mind power to sit behind binoculars for hours glassing for Coues Then you could surly refrain from typing/spelling out cuss words on a computer. And bla bla bla I could go on for hours.... But if you haven't caught on by now your hopeless. And just by reading this I hope in the future that every time you cuss you think about this post Did I mention that the Bottom Line Is That This Is Amanda's Site And She Says NO SWEARING- AND NO !$#^$* TO REPLACE YOUR SWEAR WORDS!!!!!!! And I cant believe anyone would even argue that! This is the best hunting site on the internet Amanda! Thank you for your efforts in keeping it that way! I know that I speak for the majority of the people on this site when I say that we back you 110% on this one! And keep up the good work! Lance and Carrie Crowther And Family!

I ABSOLUTLY LOVE ATV'S AND THE RANGER'S and all those type of OHV's.!!! I own a quad, and sometimes I use it to get to the end of a rough road so I don't tear up my truck, and sometimes I use it to get downed animals out of the woods. I don't hunt off of it. And when I use it I follow all the rules and yes it is licenced. But what I really LOVE about ATV's and OHV's, Rinoes, Rangers and shuch is that.... Most people get in them or on them and then they don't get out or off of them ALL DAY LONG! Yes there is a constant vroom vroom up and down all the roads but it leaves all the woods and animals to me! And if all the vroom vroom up and down the roads bothers you then quit hunting by the road! Yes there are people that don't fallow the rules but they are the exception like in every other aspect of life, and the majority of people do obey the law. And like in every aspect of life, the many law abiders get to pay for the few law breakers So if the constant parrade of quads and OHV's bothers you, then you are likely a road hunter of some kind yourself. If people didn't have these ATV's then they would drive their trucks everywhere. This is not a new thing, they are just driving new things. There has always been the road hunter that has always gotten their vehicle to the end of the road. And there has always been the walking guy that would not drive his truck to the end of the road cause it was too rough, that is there to complain about the guy who drove to the end. Complain complain complain or just get off the road?! If someone is breaking the law then call them in! But if they are not breaking the law and they are just bothering you in some way. Then thats your fault for not planning on road hunters. Face it, Arizona (and other states) Has Roads and people will drive them! No big secret! And for those of you who are the Road Hunters, then God Bless You!!! Bless you all every one! And Merry Christmas to ya! I love Road Hunters and you just keep it up! You are doing an excelent job! You have made Arizona what it is and I love it! Everyone else QUIT COMPLAINING! You are passing laws that will force these type of hunters to get out of the cars and over-run your backwoods! I'm always in the woods, and have plenty of stories to go around about road hunters, and Bla bla bla.... But think about it. For instance. This season I was on a junior deer hunt with my boys and Jake. I noticed one of these Rinoes driving back and forth on all the roads in the valleys below. Thats awesome I thought! One less hunter in the woods. Latter that day in a diferent area we were not too far above a road. When that same guy pulled up down below and hiked up a nearby ridge. "Dang" I thought. "Wish he would stay in his Rino and just drive by". But we were hunting near a road so no big deal you got to expect that. Then I noticed he was carring his beer to the top of the ridge with him. Wow what a real winner of a guy. Gun in one hand and beer in the other being followed by a young boy. I felt bad for the boy of course, but did not feal safe in the woods with my family and that guy near by! We held still and couldn't wait tell he got back in his Rino and got out of there and back to his road hunting. Now I'm not saying all road hunters are encompitant and everyone else is. Heck, I cant even spell and can barely type! And there are some great road hunters out there that have it down to a science! What I'm saying is Quit complaining about road hunters and what ever they are driving. Your only hurting yourself by placing more restrictions on hunting! If your not a road hunter then just let them do their thing and if your smart you'll relize the backwoods are full of just you and animals! Lance

I know it's a little late because I've been busy, but some of you are very persistant on getting me to hurry up and post the pictures of our Nov hunt! So finally here it is! So this year's general rifle bull hunt started out with a busy outlook! We had a handful of clients, and a handful of family and friends that all had tags, and in several different units! I would be busy with the clients so I was needing more help to guide and help with the family and friends tags. So I decided it was time to break in some somewhat experienced newbies! So I enrolled my two boys Ty age 12 and Weston age 10 to help Russ guide and glass for family and friends in another unit while we tried to stack up bulls for clients in other units! So I took my boys out scouting and showed them where all the bulls would be, where to glass them from and how to hunt them in those areas. These are pictures of when the boys and I were scouting. So oppening day came and started out slow due to heavy snow and fog in most areas! But the fog started to clear and the lead started to fly! We had a "Hunt Of A Lifetime" kid we were guiding with our clients and during that first day he shot 21 times with two different guns at 4 different bulls, 3 of them were 6pts and one 4pt. and had many other opportunities at great bulls that he, bless his heart, was just not able to pull a shot off. He did not connect and due to difficulties he was not able to hunt after that day. But he saw 26 bulls that day so I hope he is happy and had a good time. Some other great bulls were missed that first day as well, and many were passed, but two bulls did fall and here are their pictures! First we have TLO hunter Nick and guide Rory, in the White Mtn's who took his first elk with one shot opening morning! Way to go Nick! Next, after an all day spot and four mile track job friend Logan, guided by Russ and my boys whacks this nice bull late in the day! This bull had a huge body and his teeth indicated he was over the hill for sure!, The Second Day brought clear skies raining more lead! Here are my boys glassing from one of their high points where they would spot elk for their hunters down below. First to fall the second day was this big bull by TLO hunter David! This was David's first elk! This bull was very old and had a huge body as well! This was our first packout and was a two day deal! I got to bed at 12:30am that night. Awesome! Way to go David! And then amongst the family crew guided by Russ and my boys, friend Jeff takes this beautiful bull in the PM! Nothing happened on the third day except packing meat. The Fourth Day brought us one of the big bulls we had missed 5 times on the opening day! So TLO hunter Ron got to redeem himself and laid the hammer down on this monster bull! Way to hang in there and get-er-done Ron! That was an extreme packout and I got to bed that night at 1:30am. We slept in a bit the next morning because our clients were done and spent the next day getting the rest of the meat out! Awesome! The Fifth Day While we were packing meat in one unit Russ was helping Chuck in another unit to tag Chuck's first bull! This also turned into an all nighter and a two day packout! Once again Awesome! And you gotta love it! So at the end of the fifth day we were done with clients and were gonna go help friends and family for the last two days. Like Russ who had helped everyone else get their bulls while he had a tag himself. But then we got a phone call! A call from one of our clients who had a son with a bull tag in 6A and they hadn't found any bulls. He was asking if we had time to help out and his son was just looking for any bull and his first big game animal! We said sure why not. So we hired out for the last two days, and Ben and I met them the next day and headed into 6A where we hadn't scouted to try to kill a bull on the last of the hunt. Since we had two days we decided we would shoot for the moon and trophy hunt the first day! And if that didn't work out we would go to some of the more predictable spots and just let the boy fill the tag. Well, it didn't happen with the big bulls the sixth day of the hunt so on the Seventh Day we went to the killing fields and glassed up 10 bulls. And after the five minute version of Sniper Class 101. 13 year old Scotty killed his first big game animal with a 4X5 shot through the chest at 512 yards with my 7mm RUM! I asked him if it kicked and he said "NO WAY That Was GREAT!" And you know what, It was great! It was all Great! I love the fact that my little boys were helping hunters to whack and pack bulls without me! And as always! a great time with great people! Hope you all enjoyed the story and pictures! Lance

And once again I felt like I was do to Jake's excelent skills at texting! I told you he likely wouldn't bed for long! But I know you knew that. Wish I could be there for more of your hunt! Is a guided hunt as satisfying as do-it yourself?
Lance replied to lousyhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Holly Crap! BTW Special Note To EVERYONE! DON"T GO TO THE GRAND CANYON!!!!! I went there and there was a paved road the whole way! And holy crap there were tons of people and stores and sidewalks! And what ruined it the worst was someone had built RAILS along the edge so you couldn't fall in so easy! You will get no joy out of it at all! But heck, I should have known the trip was doomed from the start when I decided we didn't have enough time to journy the whole family up there on foot to get the whole do it yourself experience! Nope we screwed up from the start when we decided to take the family car. And dangit, I didn't even build the car myself so there was no posible way I could have ever gotten any joy out of driving it! Much less having my family in the dang thing! Nope, don't bother going! it's no longer a "Do It Yourself Experience" so its not worth it! I don't even know why I even bother going outside when I didn't even make my own clothing to wear. And how can I get any joy out of this website when I didn't make it myself. Dang this thred sucks! I didn't even make the PC I'm typing on I'm so dang dependent on everybody else how can I live with my pridefull self? Haha Yall crack me up! Its OK... To each his own! Its things like this that devide hunters and get more and more of our hunting fredoms taken away each year! I would never turn down good hunting help from a friend. I would stick my pride where it belongs and envite all the help I could use! I am a guide and I would hire a guide. The clients I hunt with are like hunting with good friends. The hunts are well earned, well deserved and oh so memorable! The Outdoors are ment to be shared! Smile Its ok that people are different. As long as they arn't trying to take away your hunting rights! Lance -
Nice video! Good job! Looks like you shot him at a head on angle. I hope your still counting your blessings on that shot! But he your's so there you go! Good Job! Lance
