This lady would be a good running mate with Hilary Clinton for vice President.

Ok who is the worst scumbag the guy who poaches to feed his family or the trophy hunter who buys a tag then kills a bull, takes the head and leaves the rest to rot. The forest is littered with such carcasses.

If a herd feed off you all year I think you ought to be allowed to butcher one

If you scale in the distance, I don't think that's a cub It's mating season.

This one, Named flat horn, hung out around Alpine before the fire. Some of his sheds are displayed at the Bear wallow café in Alpine. I haven't see him lately.

Thank for the comments guys, A friend was telling me about a whitetail/ mule deer hybrid that was killed last year and then it was a cold and snowy day yesterday and I was stuck inside playing with my photos. I came across some funny looking bucks, I knew what they were but I needed to break the boredom, so for fun I thought I would post them. The first photo is the rear end of the first posted buck a muley, taken near Globe AZ. The second photo is of a whitetail that I first thought was mule deer because of the big antlers going through the trees

Is this a whitetail, A mule deer or a cross?

New Mexico has land owner tags and the land owners put out vitamins and minerals, steroids (steroids not legal now) to produce antler growth. I know because I have put it out for them. The reservations do the same. Big antlers means big money for a tag . just good business. I'm with you all, let it rain & snow, good for all

Right now the females are in the den having pups, they let the males do the hunting. The males are active but very skittish, if they come it at all it will be down wind, very cautious. This has been my experience with the mountain coyotes. Desert dogs may do things differently.

I went fly fishing at big lake yesterday. A little tough when the eyes on my pole kept freezing up. When it warmed up a little I did catch a few rainbows. I done really well up in a shallow cove with the brook trout. I think they were spawning. All I caught there was brookies no rainbows .

Nice job--- When can you start on mine?

All this foolishness, off roading, tearing up the forest, is going to get the shed hunting banned! History says it will. A few will ruin it for everyone.
-
Probably because the logging crew has the equipment and the contract that says they will rehab the road when they are through. Civilians just leave it for someone else to repair.

Ok all you biologists Is this buck about to shed his antlers? Are they dead, Is he unhealthy? Old? What the heck ,why are they white? The third photo is the same buck a year ago.

Mexican Wolf Publication
photofool replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Look closely and the photo. That is not a pure breed, that is a cross breed pictured there. Look more like a collie dog than a wolf. We are paying millions of dollars to reintroduce something that was never lived here. -

My youngest son came up for the late bull elk hunt. He killed a nice 6x6 the first day so we went coyote hunting the rest of the week. I laughed when he pulled out a little bitty 17 hornet center fire rifle Three coyotes later I had to eat crow. All were shot around 100 t0 200 yards distance and no holes in the hide. I sell or tann the furs so no holes are important. I was very impressed My question is, does anyone use this little gun and how has it preformed? Thanks Mike

Today I killed two coyotes with one shot. I still can't believe it. I thought that only happened in movies. While calling ,a pair of coyotes responded. they were coming in fast, close together. When they were within about 40 yards I quit calling so they would stop running. I was following the nearest one in my cross hairs when she stopped I shot her through the front shoulders with my 22-250. I heard the whap on impact and chambered in another shell to take the second coyote as it retreated . To my amazement there was two coyotes flopping around on the ground. I could not believe what I was seeing. On closer inspection the first coyote had an exit hole about the size of a baseball. I could not find a hole in the second coyote but there was mass amount of blood coming out of the mouth. When I skinned it out. there was a little hole in the throat. I guess it just was not his day. Has anybody killed of heard of anyone killing two coyotes with one shot, with a rifle?
