I applied for elk and antelope with a hunting license that expires on 1/22/2017. The draw deadline isn't until sometime in February. I thought that you just had to have a valid hunting license at the time you apply and then before the hunt that you draw starts. After reading the regs I think I screwed up royally! Has this happened to anyone else? Will game and fish let me correct it? I highly doubt it.

I tried to put in for elk for my wife and when I got to the page where you can select to purchase the point guard it said may not purchase next to her name. She has a portal. I logged out then logged in through her portal and clicked apply for draw through her portal and it still said may not purchase when I got to that page. I applied for elk and antelope for myself not through my portal and when I got to that page I had the option to buy it. Anybody else run into this?

I bought a new license just to be safe and had it start on 1-23-17

So I just left the Mesa office and the guy there told me if I buy a hunting license through them or online before mine expires I will be fine. Then I called the office on carefree and the lady there told me the same thing. Then I got to thinking I remember you used to be able to check a box on the application that said if I am drawn send me a hunting license. That means you didn't even have a valid hunting license when you applied, but you still got your bonus point.
-
So the fact that the license I applied with will be expired at the time the tag is issued won't matter?
-
From the regs: When applying for a hunt, you must have a license valid through deadline day of that draw. If drawn for a hunt permit-tag, you must also have a valid license at the time of the hunt. These may not be the same license under the new 365 day licenses.
-
That's what I thought but then I read in the regs that your license has to be valid at the draw deadline and then valid before your hunt starts and those can be 2 different licenses.

That's what it was...1 email address for her portal and a different one saved on her profile. Thanks man!

1-3% just a guess without looking it up......but don't mind me, I'm just bitter (23 bonus points)

Has anyone used these in their Garmin rinos? Thinking about getting one for my dad for Christmas. They sell them at Sportsmans Warehouse and they seem to be pretty popular. Let me know the pros and cons if you've used them. Thanks guys!

I'm using a new Sig kilo 2000 range finder. It has a line of sight option and an angle modification option. I'm wondering which one I should use if I am using MOA turrets on my rifle.

Just wondering if we would see an ad like this....I do have 23 points for antelope, but they aren't for sale/rent....or are they? Haha
-
Please tell me you are going for the 6b tag! Also, did the washer/dryer work out? Washer and dryer are going strong, thanks again man.

I bet there is a lot of archers that would love to jump up 4-5 years to get a tag. As for the luck of the draw on the rifle hunts it would be no draw no pay. On a lot of the premium tags just the difference in a few points can mean draw or no draw. The unit I'm looking at is 1% up to 22 points then 64% at 23 points. If a guy were at 20 and didn't want to wait 3-4 years he jumps on with me and draws a unit that takes 22 points.

Your 16 plus my 23 is 39. Divided by 2 is 19.5 that gets rounded up to 20. I'm pretty sure that will draw you any archery hunt and a lot of rifle hunts.

Not sure I had a buddy look it up. I guess you have to be a gohunt insider member (paid subscription)
