    Looking to upgrade my optics...

I had this very spotter once and it turned me off from spotting scopes. It wasn't until I looked through the swaro that convinced me that spotters aren't all bad. You said you had a Vortex Viper spotting scope, his is a Vortex Razor. Big difference in clarity, in my opinion.

    Unit mix up

So heres the story Im taking out a first time Hunter on the general hunt, but he is choosing to use a bow. This will be his first ever hunt and I showed him how to put in online. I told him to apply for unit 24B as I know where there are some pigs. Somehow he accidentally put in for unit 22. I have never hunted any of this unit, for anything! I just found out about it and there is only one weekend before the hunt to scout, and Im not available to scout and he doesnt really know what he is doing as he is a first time Hunter. I told him to at least get out and drive the roads and hike around and hes willing to do that. Any help would be truly appreciated. I can give you a couple spots and 24B where Ive seen pigs if youd like to trade some information. Thanks in advance.

    Big Bo permit

Were you the hunter? Do you remember when you could buy the permit and if they limited the number of hunters allowed on the ranch? No I wasn't the hunter, and I didn't buy my permit until right before the hunt, but if I remember correctly there was a certain date that was set when you could get your permit before the hunt started. As far as I can remember there was no limit on the number of hunters or the number of helpers allowed. At $80 a head I think the ranch loves to see each hunter have his 10 person possey. Last year rumor had it that the Grimmets had at least 2 tags that they personally turned back in and told 3 others to turn their tags back in but you know how rumors go. I've only been on a few antelope hunts, 2 in 10, 1 in 19B, 1 in 5A and 1 in 4A and for me unit 10 was my least favorite but again that's just me. 10 has definitely produced some real hogs over the years and I'm sure there are still some in there but I just wasn't blown away. I will say Big Bo is a very good name for that ranch it is HUGE country. Good luck in whatever you decide. Thanks for the info. Eli told me that last year they had 1 hunter with that tag and they advised him to turn it back in.

    Big Bo permit

Thanks. They have the price list out and its still $80 for an assistant permit. Ive heard last year wasnt great in 10, biggest buck was around 86. Supposed to be similar this year. Ive point guarded my application so if i draw it and dont find a few I like i can turn it back in.I don't know about the other bucks killed but if 86 inchers were dying I wouldnt classify that as "not very good" that's comparable to a 390-395 bull being killed.Good point....and dont get me wrong, i will SMOKE an 86 inch buck as soon as the sun cracks on opening morning. I guess with that tag in that unit you always hope for the chance of seeing a true GIANT. And if its a down year that chance may not exist. If i wasnt told this info by who most regard to be the best of the best when it comes to antelope, Id take it with a grain of salt. Well see, heck I may miss out once again, after all i do ONLY have 24 points haha.

    Big Bo permit

Thanks, i checked the website and the 2018 season isnt updated yet. I thought they limited the number of permits they sell and i didnt want to miss out, if i draw, i may be mistaken though.
  8. Its in MAY, i think its a little far off, thats one issue. Yes Ive dropped the price a bit, but they are OBO so Im open to all offers. Thanks

Cabela's screwed up again... (Or so it seems)

EXACTLY! In the beginning you used to be able to make offers in bargain cave now it costs more than new and has NO STORE WARRANTY! If bought online bargain cave it has short WARRANTY but if bought in store bargain cave then ZERO store WARRANTY you must go thru manufacturer. This is fact. So beware when shopping closeout binoculars (euro and others) on eBay as most were purchased from bargain cave and have 3 x's scratches into them and No STORE WARRANTY since you are not buying directly from Cabelas online bargain cave. This is wrong. I returned a pair of Cabelas brand Euro binos yesterday (1-30-2018) and was told to go to the bino counter and grab a new pair, in with the old and out with the new in under 10 minutes. I purchased them on eBay 2 months ago, not knowing they were from the bargain cave. When i found out i contacted the seller and and he asked me if i would like to send them back for a full refund or he would refund me back $200. I took the $200 and kept the binos. Last week i noticed that when i would take my outdoorsmans stud out the binos they seemed like they were loose almost like they wouldnt stay open. I took them to Cabelas yesterday to return them and the lady at customer service noticed the 3 xs scratched into the bottom and asked if they were from the bargain cave and i said yes. She said no problem, corporate has explained to us that ANY and ALL Cabelas merchandise is to be exchanged or refunded, full price with a receipt, lowest sale price on a gift card without a receipt.L.O.L. weren't you the same guy arguing saying that the warranty is not even transferable with a euro optic? Fact is they have a policy for Bargain Cave item returns. I think you've proven that you can buy and sell and return things pretty well. But in this case the rule is with Cabelas if you buy it personally in bargain cave from a store location it has no Cabelas warranty and you must return it to manufacturer, in this case meopta. If you buy it online from Bargain Cave you have I believe it's a 90-day Cabelas warranty. So if you buy it second-hand from a Bargain Cave item that's off of eBay seller it's supposed to have no warranty except for going through meopta. You got very lucky! Sometimes a smile and a good story works wonders. Also sometimes guys startingbthreads like this that get seen by Cabelas employees and management also works wonders. Nah, I dont think i ever said the warranty wasnt transferable. Ill take the word of a Cabelas employee behind the customer service counter though.

    SPF SIG KILO 2000

Cody, is your range finder still for sale? No, sold yesterday

    SPF SIG KILO 2000

Its easily the best rangefinder Ive ever owned and I have owned quite a few. I have ranged out to 2100 yards on a large cliff face and 1800 yards on a group of cedar trees. The only reason Im getting rid of mine is because Ive gotten into long range shooting so I want a G7 BR2.
