Well after striking out in Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and the leftover tags here in Arizona doesnt leave me with much options. Does anybody have the scoop on leftover mule deer tags in Colorado? My main questions are....Are the hunts any good? What quality of deer can we expect to see? How hard are they to purchase? I see that this year you can buy them online, on the phone and in person all at the same time. Where as in years past you've been able to buy them on the phone before you can purchase them online or in person. Ive heard its kind of a cluster? Any info is appreciated.

I tried to find the old thread to see if the answer was in there, but I couldnt find it. My question is My wife took the online hunter education course and passed it and printed out her certificate, but now she needs the field day. What field day does she sign up for? Shes over 18 and the Arizona online field day says its for 18 and younger. The bonus point field day says its for 18 and over, but with three years hunting experience. She doesnt have three years of field experience.

OK, its confusing when you look at the classes because theyre both titled Arizona online field day, but one of them says its for 18 and older and the other one says its for 18 and younger, but theyre both called the Arizona online field day. The 18 and younger of course is six hours long and 18 and over course is three hours long. Once she has completed that successfully, she will then be issued a hunter safety bonus point? Thanks for the info. She's going to want the six hour course. It has the required shooting, and some other activities such as blood trailing, shoot/don't shoot scenarios, safe fence crossings, etc. This is the full online field day designed for new hunters. There is also the 50-question multiple choice test that day. To be clear, the test she took online was to prove she took the online portion; she still has to take and pass the same 50-question test that every other classroom student has to take. I'm not trying to be mean or rude, but you'd be surprised at the number of people who show up to the field day saying "I didn't know there would be a test!" despite it being in bold red letters on the online class website. After she's passed the class and gotten her certificate, she'll receive her Hunter Ed card in the mail, usually within 2 weeks of paperwork being submitted (usually about a week). The bonus point will kick in about 30 days after paperwork, but likely won't show up until after the next draw cycle, as its been explained to me. Something about how the system updates that stuff. The three-hour online field day is for experienced hunters (more than three years) who are expected to show up and go through a self-taught class. There is very little, if any, instructing or lessons taught on this class. Again, you'd be surprised at the number of people who show up with less than three years of experience (if any) and can't answer basic questions. Don't hesitate to holler if you have any questions. Great info, thanks! Id have put her in the 3 hour class without this info.

Game and Fish lady just told me they are still processing Mondays mail and wont be done until Friday afternoon. Only 18 tags left for my 4th choice hunt, not looking good for me.

FWIW there are some guys saying they have drawn a leftover tag....dont know how they know or if its true, just stirring the pot.
-
Do you send in the full $58 per guy on the app or $45....$58-13 if you already applied once? Hope that question makes sense. For some reason i thought since you already applied once and they got your $13 you subtract that from the leftover fee.

Top secret...write the code in the boxes and draw every time!

Im pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I want to get verification before I tell my dad to do something we both will regret. He wants to put in for the two archery strip hunts first and second choice, but if he doesnt draw those he wants a Whitetail tag. We know leftover tags are getting harder to come by every year. If he puts in for a Whitetail Hunt down south that usually has leftover tags as his third choice that wont negate him from possibly getting his first or second choice because he will be in the bonus pass for the Whitetail Hunt. Is that correct? Its my understanding that for the bonus pass round they just look at your first and second choice. If he doesnt draw those in the first round random pass and makes it to the second random pass he should be able to draw his third choice Whitetail tag assuming there are still tags left, right.

Thanks i will

Hes good on flat ground, uphill gives him fits hes got a bum ticker and gets out of breath quickly. He has a long range gun that Lance worked up a load for and i have a G7 BR2 to give ranges so we are pretty confident with the gun. Id say hes comfortable to 600. In the right conditions hed stretch it out.
-
Ya i knew that and thats exactly what i dont want to do.
-
Hed rather have a strip tag than a Whitetail tag, but doesnt plan on drawing the archery strip tag and doesnt want to chance not getting a leftover Whitetail tag.
-
Ya, hes aware. Hes 70 and wants a Whitetail on the wall. Doesnt want to chance not getting a leftover tag.
-
5....not enough to draw an archery strip tag in the bonus pass round, but enough to be in the bonus pass for an October south Whitetail tag.

I dont know who youve seen in concert, but $75 per ticket gets you your seat. For around $1000 per ticket you might get a meet and greet. At $75 each these are below face value. -

Todays the day fellas...i know what youre thinking....OK, time to pull the trigger! I have 1 pair left. Take that special someone out to see Taylor tonight. Make your daughters YEAR! Make your Wifes MONTH. Give them to a client....for Gods sake i dont care what you with them, just do SOMETHING!! Haha my wife cant go and my daughter is only 2 so i cant use them. Id rather someone have fun with them than have them go unused.
