You’re probably right.....and I’ll just say it......I don’t trust anything about this draw. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but the cover up is always worse than the mistake.

You’re probably right. And I think if they were more transparent people would be more understanding. And if they would just come out and say if they were going to do another card update that would help too.

I have a buddy who’s bank contacted him Friday( should have been card hit day) with some fraud and he has told them to leave the card active and not close it out because he doesn’t know what’s going to happen. Says he just hopes that when he can close it, the bank will be understanding.

I believe you have to use a debit card to buy a lottery ticket in AZ, can’t use a credit card. I could be wrong though, I was once, back in ‘88.

Yep, that’s what I did. I paid the insurance I’ll use it as I see fit.

I didn’t apply in AZ before bonus points, that was before my time. I’m ok with bonus points going away. Either get rid of them or give them more value. I’ve only ever drawn one tag because I was in the max pool. That was my antelope tag two years ago in unit 10. Terrible year for antler growth so I decided to turn my tag back in, that’s why i paid for the insurance, to do whatever i wanted with the tag. Now the unit I’m applying for is again out of reach. My complaint is that people with far less bonus points have pretty much the same chance as the person with 5 to 6 times the amount of points. If there were no bonus points and everybody got one random number when they applied for the lottery there would be nothing to complain about.

2) is incorrect.....13 points for that specific hunt may put you in the max pool guaranteeing you the tag therefor 13 points=100% chance of drawing, where 12 points may only be slightly better than having 2 points.

I think they set the rule up to create more revenue, plain and simple. If you’re telling me that they didn’t think that this is exactly what would happen and that they were OK with it because of the revenue generated, you’re not giving them enough credit.

And in my opinion that’s not enough of an advantage. You’re talking MAYBE a 1% greater chance for the person who has been putting in 5 times as long. Either weight the points heavier or get rid of them all together. But I do like Nates idea of pooling the points.

By that logic use someone with 20 points and someone with 4 points. They guy with 20 then only has 16 more chances, not 16x the chances. You’re scenario only works comparing someone against a person with 0 points. My point is the guy with 20 and the guy with 4 have the same % chance of drawing the same tag on a lot of hunts. As far as “how the randomness fell” part....wouldn’t the data after the draw basically show what your odds were going into the draw?

I did draw 2 years ago, with max points for that unit. Turned the tag back in and didn’t draw last year in a new unit because I don’t have max points for that hunt. I’m great full for point guard, I’m a big advocate for point guard. My argument isn’t against point guard, it’s that it takes max points most times to draw an above average tag while the majority of the tags go to people with far less time invested. Again, in my opinion 25 BP should be worth more than a couple % better odds of drawing than someone with 2 BP. I don’t care if a guy like me with 25 points or a guy with 2 points uses point guard for ANY reason. It’s insurance, it’s up to them how they use it, they paid for it.

You’re confused?!? You’re giving me a headache.....I’m arguing that someone with 20 points and someone with 1 point shouldn’t have virtually the same odds at drawing a hunt. And for the record, I don’t apply for pig anymore...I’ve killed enough, ill ket the kids hunt them, ya know like we did back in the day, and were glad to have the opportunity.

Let’s hope...I’m still not in the bonus pass for the 1 hunt I applied for....silly me for wanting to hunt a specific unit. Haha

You won’t get a fight out of me on that...if I wanted a mediocre tag I could have had one by now. But to have the same odds at a “premium tag” as a person with just a couple points seems ridiculous.

How about the guy (me) who applied for “regular” antelope tags...first 6 years rifle, next 10 years archery....then figured, heck with 18 points maybe I should try for a “premium tag”. And here I am with 27 points.
