Very sad. People, please don't go hunting by yourself in southern Arizona, it's just too dangerous. I'll be in 36B in October and if you are going to be down there and need a place or someone to camp with PM me. I'll be down there with my brother and dad. It's not worth the risk.

Ernesto- You definitely have no reason to apologize or worry that someone was offended by you. I am new to this site and I very quickly realized that you are a great poster and someone that has has contributed greatly to this site. It's very obvious that about 99% of the people on here are people of high character. I really enjoy this website for a lot of reasons. Ernesto...keep those great posts comin and don't worry about your faith offending others. Thank you for your great contributions to this site. I hope to meet you in the field some day. You're welcome in my camp anytime. I'm normally in unit 36B or C. God Bless you Ernesto. Daryl

Rocky Point Problems?
daryl_s replied to coueshunter's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I go to Mexico at least once a year. If you are going to go to Mexico and you don't speak spanish then Rocky Point is probably about the best place to go. Something bad happens in one place and then everybody thinks that it is like that in every part of Mexico. Nuevo Laredo is a long way from Rocky Point. Just don't do anything illegal and you shouldn't have any problems with anybody. I've never heard of anybody having any problems in Rocky Point. The state of Sonora is pushing tourism from the U.S. side real hard and Rocky Point is probably you're safest bet in Mexico. Just use common sense and don't be careless. I would love to go down there more often. -

I thought I was either kicked out or had some kind of virus cause my sister-in-law downloaded some garbage onto my computer that I couldn't get off. Either way I'm glad to be back on. I was gettin real bored. -

I agree. This site is great. Some of it is a little off topic but I think that that just makes it that much better. I just discovered this site not that long ago and the discussion forum is by far my favorite part. As a new member to this site I don't know as much as others about CHD, but I think it's pretty obvious that he loves the attention he gets from his posts and does it mostly just to be funny. After all, he does mention that sarcasm is one of the fine services that he offers. I hope that if anything changes are made that they be minimal. I really enjoy hearing from other hunters that are way more experienced and knowledgeable than I am and if I can get a good laugh along with it, than that's even better.

The October hunt should be when you have to worry the least because there are so many more hunters. The later hunts are when you really need to be a lot more aware. It's just like everybody has been sayin' to just use common sense and good judgement.

My dad and I have been hunting in 36B for about 10 years and we go almost all the way to the border. We haven't had any problems but we always stay close to other camps and we keep in touch with them. We've always gotten drawn for the October hunts when there are a lot of hunters down there, which obviously is going to be a little safer when there are more hunters around. We had some friends of ours that got the late hunt one year and when they got up to go out in the morning there was a group of about 15 illegals sitting outside their camp just sitting there waiting for them to leave camp. They decided to just pack it up and come home. Also, the smugglers are very aware of hunting season and use it to their advantage. They know that there is more traffic and try to blend in while driving. The best thing you can do if you're going to camp is have a big camp and put it close to another camp. That's what we always do and we haven't run into any problems yet. We'll be down there in the October hunt and if you want to camp close to us let me know. Also, now that quads have made traveling easier we are going to camp along the main road where there are more hunters camping.

My dad found this set of antlers in 36B while javelina hunting a few years ago. Probably from a lion kill. Too bad a hunter didn't get it first. My guess is that it scores about 90 or maybe a little bit more. What do you guys think??

I want to thank TREESTANDMAN for coming over to my house and scoring that rack for me. He scored it at just over 104, certainly more than I thought it would be. Thanks TREESTANDMAN.

I just barely found out about this site not that long ago and I'm hooked. There are so many people here that have so much more knowledge and experience than me that I pick up a lot of good info, plus it's just a lot of fun. I love this site. My wife already knows that when we go to bed and I say I'm going to get a drink of water that that also includes a quick peek onto cw.com. I really love to check out all the awesome pics too. -
I've seen a dog that ugly in person. It was in Paran?, Entre Rios, Argentina. There are tons of stray dogs and it s common for them to have "sarna" which I think is some kind of blood disease that they pick up in the waste water. I will tell you that I never did get very close to that dog and it certainly wasn't anybody's pet. Unfortunately I never got a picture of it, but I tell you what, that when you looked at it closely it was like you were lookin the devil straight in the eye, it was spooky.

I don't know a whole lot about any of the scent cover up but I've tried the UV blocker that you wash your clothes in and when I first tried that I noticed a huge difference in how many deer I saw as compared to before. It's supposedly scent free also. I washed my clothes in it and treated my shoes, backpack, etc. I showered with scent free soap and shampoo, used the scent free deodorant. I also used a scent that smells like dirt and put my hunting clothes in a garbage bag with some of that scent in it. I sat in a good spot in 36B and had deer walking within about 10 yards behind and in front of me that didn't ever know I was there. I had a spike come within about 15 feet of walking right up to me. I don't beleive that you can totally hide your scent but I'll take any bit of an advantage that I can get. I'm sold on the UV blocker, though. Any of you guys tried the UV blocker??
