3rd Annual Flagstaff Area CWT.com Get-Together!!!!!
daryl_s replied to Lance's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
My photography leaves a lot to be desired after seeing Doug's pictures but here they are anyways. The kids kept Tina's dog entertained most of the time. I probably need to get my kids a dog. There were a lot of really neat looking sheds and pickups out there. You should see the ones Jim Reynolds DID NOT want, Kevin (Peloncillo) brought them. Here are the resident CWT expert archers. Seriously, these guys can shoot. They all took turns shooting at 100 yards. Here is a short video of Lance hitting the target. -

The kids, my brother and I had a great time. A great big thank you to Lance and Carrie for putting it together and contributing so much. It was a lot of fun to finally meet the people whose posts I have been reading for the last few years. The company, food and activities were really good. I will post some pictures Monday AM. For those of you who missed it, you really need to put this event on your calendar and make it out next year or to the next get together. I look forward to meeting more people at the next one. I'm definitely planning on making it out to this event every year. -

nope, sorry.....he definitely won't be there. I guess I will have to be the one to volunteer to help her then. -
It really is a win win situation. It's a good cause to donate to and who knows.......somebody's gotta win the tag right????
-
I just made my donation to the az deer association by way of their great american deer raffle. This is separate from the az big game super raffle, correct???? It looks like I'm gonna have a busy year with my super raffle coues tag, my great american deer raffle coues tag and my 36c dec tag . A guy can dream can't he????

Congratulations Casey. You must be very proud of yourself and you should be, you earned it. -
When are the draw results for this fall going to come out???? Is it too early to start speculating???? Let's hear first from those that have friends or family who work at G&F.
-
What's taking so long????????? It's been like 4 hours already

Dang Scottyboy!!!! Now we know how you can afford all of them African Safaris . -
That reallllllly sucks!!!! I agree with SBD, if you're sure it's him post it up. Why give the guy a month????? He obviously has no conscience so I say put it up and hopefully somebody will recognize him.

I'm not so greedy. I'd be happy with 1 Dec. coues tag per year. That's not asking too much is it??? VERY impressive list he has there!

I was just sittin here the other day wonderin when I am going to see a CWT sticker here in the valley. I finally did but didn't get a chance to honk or wave. It was in the Florence Anthem right by the elementary school. It was a big 4 door Chevy with the sticker across the top of the windshield. I just caught it as I was passing by. It looked like you were heading to the school. Truck had Colorado plates I believe. I live in Magic Ranch and next fall my daughter will start kindergarten out there so maybe I'll see you around. That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that pic. If you took you so long to catch up to him I have to assume he was going pretty fast. I HATE being tail gated. Looks like plenty of room to go around.
-
I love that picture of the fox. The curious look on his face as he stares down the camera is priceless.
-
That might be somewhere in Florence but there's no way that that is close to Anthem, unless by close you mean within 20 miles of it. The reason I say that is because of the scenery in the background is not at all like Anthem, especially north of there. The weird thing about Anthem is that it is considered part of Florence even though it's about a ten mile drive. I live in Magic Ranch and it's 13 miles from my house to downtown Florence. If I drive 3 miles west I am in Queen Creek. Heck, I don't hardly know Florence cause I have no reason to go there. Very cool pictures though.....that would be awesome to see.

Look who walked through my yard today

That is very cool. What would be even cooler is if you found a shed in your yard!!!! Who could top that??? -
Duwane Adams glassing class
daryl_s replied to yumabowhunter's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Top notch optics make a difference but whatever you have, you need to know how to use them. Isn't it Gino who says that his friends can find more stuff with Tascos than a lot of guys with their Swaros?? Judging by the pictures he posts I believe him. I glass side by side with my dad a lot. He has 15x56 Swarovski and I use Nikon Monarch 12x42. The Swaros are clearly better but the Nikons are still a very good glass. The clearness out to the edges isn't that great in the nikons. I plan on buying Swarovskis but for now my Nikons will do. My dad and I have been talking about taking Duwanes class, we could definitely use it. I say use your Vortex optics and take the class and upgrade when you can. -
It seems that we normally hang around the mid twenties and then drop into the teens whenever draw results come out. Not long until the e-scouters come out of their caves

Why you and not me?

Good one Ernesto -
Any coues whitetail with a bow is a special accomplishment, one that I have not achieved. My hat's off to anyone who can get it done with stick and string. I need to get some modern bowhunting equipment and get back in the bowhunting game.

Sweet finds...the morning of????? That's just insane. Not only are the pictures cropped, but there is no grong orange either. That would be a dead give away to your spot if anybody sees you. I do remember someone mentioning a while back in a post about someone wearing camo while shed hunting. I actually plan on wearing desert colored clothing when I go look for a certain bucks sheds this year because it's in a pretty plain area and I plan on going after this buck this year.

Well said and I agree. I personally get more satisfaction out of a hunt when I put more effort into it. I use the quad on tough 4 wheel drive roads that would either tear up my car or where my car possibly would not make it. It's the s-10 style blazer so not a lot of ground clearance. Gino, I don't think it's people answering dishonestly. I think that the ones who choose to respond to the poll are the ones who can proudly say they use the quads the way they are legally supposed to be used. Even though it's anonymous I think most rule breakers would rather not respond.
