I thought those were illegal in the US. Has it changed or was I wrong all along? Pretty awesome dogs, though. You pet their head and it feels like a thin layer of skin with concrete underneath.

After seeing the other pics close up I see that his tine length is better than I first thought. Great looking buck. And seeing him in person is definitely more telling than just seeing pictures. We watched the buck in my picture for over an hour and we figured somewhere in the 85-90" range. I also got a close up look of this buck from about 35 yards

Inverter Broadhead test #2 Cinder Block
daryl_s replied to wardsoutfitters's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I just ordered a package and plan on using them Friday. Hopefully I'll get a shot opportunity. -
Any chance you were in 24A??? I'm not a digiscoping pro, yet. Funny thing is that we watched this buck for a long time and his tines were noticeably longer on his right side. This seems to be the case with the buck in your pictures too.

I chased a buck almost identical to that one in 24A this past weekend. I'm not very good at guessing scores but I would say high 80's. I'm curious to see what others think about the score. Beautiful buck.

Congrats Houston!! Looks like a great trip with great bucks.

I like this idea. I drew a January tag and got to hunt about 4 total hours because of an injury that required surgery in December. I feel great now that my hunt is over and I missed it. I would love the chance to have another crack at it this season. Why not go ahead and generate some revenue instead of the tag going to waste?? I would love to give them some money for another tag.

Blue gill are DELICIOUS!!!! Looks like a great trip and a great meal. Slaying the blue gills like that is a fun and easy way to get kids into fishing.

I enjoy reading the updates. I haven't been able to get out very much so I look forward to stories of other peoples' hunts. -

I kind of feel like I've been lied to my whole life How deceiving. I guess I have to adjust to life as Aries now -
I heard through the grapevine today that the buck was shot in the beginning of the December archery hunt. If he's made it a month and is acting normal then I think it's safe to say he's going to be alright.

This one never gets old Someone posted this last year. When I got my deer on the October hunt my dad was helping me skin it and I asked him that question. The timing was perfect

There are plenty of animals gut shot that aren't from a long range shot, whether it be rifle or bow. However, you must be perfect, so I applaud you.

I was wondering who was going to be the first to bring that up That is a great buck and some great shooting. It sucks that you have to wait a full year to hunt deer again but that buck and how you got him are both AWESOME. Congrats on a well deserved and hard earned trophy.

Man, you sure are relentless, aren't you??? Coach, great topic. I have always hunted with my dad and sometimes my brother goes too, but he's not into it as much as we are. Me personally, I don't enjoy hunting alone very much. I love to help others out and some of the best hunts I have been on have been when I didn't have a tag but was able to help others fill theirs. This year I am going to lose 30 pounds. I plan on doing at least 1 sprint triathlon and 1 road bike race. I don't have any bike racing experience and only want to do it for fun. A good friend of mine is going to help me get ready to ride. He took fifth in the 80 mile race of the Tour de Tucson this year. I had surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago for a hernia but feel great and am hoping to get the green light from the surgeon Monday to start up the weight loss activities. The last 6 weeks of 2010 were tough and I am very excited for 2011.

I'm in the area between Florence and San Tan Valley and it was 22 degrees at 7:30 am this morning in my backyard. I know that's nothing to you Lakeside people but it's pretty dang cold for us flatlanders.

Congratulations to you and your wife!!! What a great little Christmas gift for your family.

I am looking to sell my .270 and scope. It is a Ruger M77 Mark II with a Leupold VX-I 4-12x40 scope. I bought scope and gun together brand new in Fall of 2006 from Sportsmans Warehouse in Mesa. I cleaned the rifle after every shot for the first 5 shots and every 5 shots since. Rifle has about 100 shots down the barrel. It loves 130 gr Hornady Interbond and dropped my deer this year on the spot at 425 yards. The gun has been used but not abused and is in overall great condition. The stock has a few very minor scratches from use in the field. The scope is in very good condition. I will sell scope and gun together for $650. If you only need one or the other I will sell rifle for $450 and scope for $200. I have the Butler Creek flip up scope covers that I will also include. I am not interested in any trades. I don't want to sell either of these but I am having surgery this week and will be out of work for a month or so. PM me if interested. Thanks, Daryl

Is that the safety that you slide up or down with your thumb?? If so, then no. It has the two position safety on the bolt. I will take pictures and post them up. Give me a few minutes.

I only looked at it in the package so I was not aware of that. I definitely would not go with plastic.

Bass Pro has an adapter that is identical to the one that Nikon makes for I believe around $10. I can't find it online but I've seen it in their store. Maybe you could call the store and see if you could somehow pay for it and have them send it to you. Or just order from Amanda.
