HI ALL: I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW I'VE COME OUT WITH A NEW TRIPOD ADAPTER, I CALL IT THE "DUAL MOUNT" IT WORKS THE SAME AS MY UNIVERSAL FRONT MOUNT ADAPTER BUT, THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT YOU CAN MOUNT A SMALL DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA ON TOP OF YOUR BINOCULARS USING A SMALL SLIK BALL HEAD, WHILE ON A TRIPOD. IT IS WORKING VERY WELL. I USED A SONY 60 X ZOOM DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA. YOU GET THE EXACT SAME IMAGE THRU YOU BINOS AS YOU DO THRU THE CAMERA. I just happen to have a new pair, still in the box, of 12x50 RAZOR, binos. I have had them out on my display table a few times at the 3-d shoots I attend but they would still carry the full VORTEX warranty, etc. Give me a call if you want to maybe come take a look at them. Velbon still makes the Chaser series tripods, they just changed the name to "sherpa" series, the 600 R, is about the tallest set of legs in that series, they advertise that the 600ra goes to 64.0" that is with a PH-157Q head.If you were to use a pistol grip head of some type you would be good to stand behind the tripod when necessary. I THINK THE PROBLEM YOU ARE HAVING IS BECAUSE THE HEAD YOU DESCRIBE IS A "SINGLE CONTROL" TYPE PAN HEAD, WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE PANING HANDLE YOU LOCK BOTH THE TILT AND THE PAN FEATURE, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY LOOK INTO A "DUAL CONTROL" PAN HEAD, WHERE THE TWO CONTROL KNOBS ARE SEPERATE. You have everything you need. What happened in your case is: the large threaded plug that was supposed to stay in your slc glass came out with the Outdoorsmans post. You need to put this back in the binoculars. Did you unscrew the small set screw on the bottom of the Outdoorsmans post ? If not do that and then screw the post with the plug back into the binoculars, I recommend a little (blue) medium strength thread locker on this part. When you get the post out of this plug you will see the 1/4 x 20 hole and you can use any other adapter you choose. Hello AZHUNT: I carry (2) types of window mounts, both are good and should be plenty sturdy for bino(s) or a spotting scope. 1.) is the Vortex that someone saw at the AAF banquet,if fact that one of my donations. 2.) is the "Swarovski" unit that Ben Brown has, which is actually a Bogen product with the Swarovski lable on it. that unit comes as just the clamp part and you can use any tripod head on it you want. Hello All: I appreciate all of your input, both positive and negative regarding my products. In fact I have often used the negative input to change several of my products in an attempt to make them better. I am however curious about the post by "TINES", wherein he finds my Swarovski SLC tripod adapter to be "Cheesy". Perhaps if Tines could give me somemore information in slightly more techinal terms I could address his disatisfaction and maybe come up with a better product as I have in the past. Iam also curious as to why it appears he is disatisfied with the "cost" of my adapter. I have listed below a price comparison with the other adapters listed in this post. Jake: Are your Swarovski binos Els or SLCs. If they re EL's then the only way is the "velcro" Sure-loc adapter, if they are SLC'c then Amanda sells my adapters here on her web site Thanks Jim White

Hey Gyys: Just so you will know, the OUTDOORSMAN pistol grip head has a shallow groove on the side that is designed to be used as a rifle rest. All you need to do is, remove your optics, turn the head 90% and you will see the rifle rest groove. Good Hunting Jim White.
