Maybe it was a case of one Vet looking out for another one! I'm 100% sure you will have to Google that.

That would be my guess also. It was from a time when no one would put a tranny on a can of beer, that's for sure. It was early to mid 70's when Coors had that two button push on their cans, before that it was just a pull tab, and before that it was with a can opener like the above can.

It's a butt out tool. The biggest piece of junk that I ever bought was a Kelbly trigger. It never did work right, even sent it back and it still didn't work.

Remington 1100 12 gauge, 28in barrel, fixed Mod choke, 2 3/4 inch shells. Used very little. There is a chip on the forearm, other than that excellent shape. Asking 750.00. Remington 11-87 Super Magnum 12 gauge, 28 inch barrel, rem mod, full, ic, and 2 Turkey chokes. This is an older J lock model, and comes with 2 J lock keys. 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells. The shotgun was left in a case and the heat caused the recoil pad to stick to the case. Asking 700.00 Remington 11, 12 gauge, 29 inch barrel, full choke. This is an older shotgun that is missing some blueing in places, and the stock and forearm are showing some wear, but is in pretty good shape for its age. This looks like a Browning, but when the patent ran out, Remington started making them. Asking 400.00. I'll post pics of the other side later. I am selling these two for my Ex SIL, reasonable offers only, lowballers don't waste your time or mine. Both were function fired with Winchester and Fiochi shells, both fired and extracted great. Located in Chandler. PM with any questions.

What Gun Range does everyone like?
10Turkeys replied to Couzer's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
The way is works at Rio, you have to shoot 3 matches of the same flavor, and if the match director thinks that you show some proficiency with safety, you are oked to use that range, when it is not being used for a match or some specialty group doesn't have use of it. They used to let anyone on the HP and SB ranges and the targets were all shot to pieces, Steel targets were moved all over the place, plastic jugs, rocks and whathave you were shot up and left, so now they do it this way. Every now and then someone slips through the cracks. It was either at Rio or Ben Avery (Ben Avery used to do their specialty ranges the same way) a guy went to the silhouette range and I guess he thought it was a good idea to bring along his wife and have her spot for him, he was shooting pigs at the 300 meter line, and she was right there spotting his hits for him, right at the 300 meter line. Either Wed or Thursday used to be a maintenance day at Rio and the main range would close, and everyone would shoot at the HP range. -
Should have listened to Ol Abe!

Probably what Lucafu1 said. Have you shot any factory .260 brass in that rifle? If you have take a caliper and measure the outside of the neck. That will be your chamber neck diameter, next measure the loaded necked down ammo that you have around the neck. If you haven't fired any .260 brass, use the neck diameter off from that Hornady case, since it will chamber. That LC brass is typically thicker than factory brass. Bullets might be seated long, and or brass to long. How far will the bolt get before you have trouble closing it?

Everything that I've read on the BB models, they were made in 1968 and a portion of the sales went to the Buffalo Bill Center of The West.

My first 5-6 knives were Barlow all from the same place Yellow Front, lost everyone of them. It's your choice, but for the first one I would go for something like a Buck and see how he takes care of it, and then move up to a better knife, maybe even a custom.

Looks to be an early version of a survival rifle.

I joined the GSSF for 35.00 to take a Glock Armour class. With that membership I received a card for a 1 Glock at cost, took the card to Glockmeister and got a Gen 5 23 for 461.00 out the door. The gun has to be ordered through their distributor and it has to be in stock.

Don't know squat about the 6.8 Western, and I've played very little with the .270 WSM. Hornady says slower burning powder for the 130-150 grain bullets and H-4350 for the lighter 110 bullets, and Sierra has Re-19 and 22 as a recommend hunting load and accuracy load for a 150 grain bullet
-
Someone online suggested a starting load from .270 WSM data and going from there. The Sierra #5 manual has data for a 150gr bullet and 19 and 22 powder. If you want to try that and need the info, holler and I'll post it.
-
Gotcha. A Google search of 6.8 Western load data will turn up some loads using RE-22, but they are internet loads.
-
There was a swap meet yesterday at Rio Salado, some guy had 2 pounds of RE-22 for sale and I don't remember the price that he wanted and it wasn't recent manufacture, it had the red or pink front on it. I don't know him, but I know the guy who had the table next to him, do you want me to see if I can get a contact number for him, if the guy I know even knows the guy who had the powder. I'm pretty sure he's still got it, when I left it was still there and there was very little traffic then.
-
No experience with the 6.8 Western, but the case is said to be basically a .270 WSM with a different angle on the shoulder. I've played with a couple of .270 WSM's using IMR-4350, which worked ok. No load data for RE-19 or 22?

The chrono will give you an answer.

Couple of variables. You didn't say if the Federal primers were 210M or 215M. If you went from a magnum primer down to a standard rifle primer then yes your poi is going to change. I'm guessing that your running about 60-70 grains of powder in that 7 mag. I wouldn't use anything but a magnum primer myself. You said that your using RL-22, that's all I use in my .270 and I've never had any problems with it as far as it being temp sensitive, but if you zeroed your rifle in July with the Rem primers and loaded up some with the Federal in October that might be your poi shift also. How far off was the poi shift between primers?

Euro Mount for deer + Rug for lion, taxidermy recs
10Turkeys replied to andyyy's topic in The Campfire
Adam aka Big Browns did a Euro Mount on the Antelope I got this year. Very reasonable and excellent work. -
The first time I took a CCW class it was basically to get a card to carry legally. This was before Az was a constitutional carry state. The second was a little bit more of an eye opener. If you get into a defense situation at your house, someone is going to have to call the cops. What are they going to say? Two guys just broke into our home and my husband killed them! or Two armed guys just broke into our house and my husband was in fear of our lives and defended us. The tape will be rolling when you call.
