Should I upgrade from 30-06?
10Turkeys replied to andyyy's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
To all of those that still think that Hornady built the 6.5 Creedmoor from the ground up need to take a look at the Savage .250 case. Same length, same shoulder radius. The two guys that designed the Creedmoor have been around long enough to know that the .250 case had been necked up and played with for a long time. 20 years before the Creedmoor came out a gunsmith in California was necking up a .250 case and calling it a 7mm Wally. Years ago on the Sierra Bullets blog, a shooter by the name of Mitch Maxberry was asking the Creedmoor faithful to name one record that the Creedmoor has broken that the 6.5-08 (later named the .260 Remington) had already set, no one could then, and I doubt that anyone can now. -
Any tips or tricks to remove a ton of carbon?
10Turkeys replied to Crazymonkey's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Boretech makes a carbon remover that works pretty good. Some of the internet guys are using CLR, but with stainless. I wouldn't use it for a blued barrel. -
I think it would be fair to contact the Taliban and request an AK. With all the equipment that Joe and the Hoe left them in Afghanistan, I think it would be right for them to give you one little rifle. Let's go Brandon!

Shotshell reloading questions.
10Turkeys replied to Presmyk's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
It's been awhile since I messed with reloading shotgun shells. The components were skyrocketing. It was cheaper to go to Wal-Mart and pay 23-24 bucks for a 100 pack of Federal, Winchester or Remington shells (before the current state of affairs). Lee used to make a entry level loader, don't know if they do anymore or not. MEC makes probably the most used press. Lyman makes a shotshell reloading manual that you might want to check out before you spend any money getting into it. BPI is a company in Minn that deals with shotgun stuff, you can check out their website also. -
Wal-Mart Riverview Mesa has 308, 243 Win, 350 Legend Ammo and 12, 20, 28 gauge, 22lr

Mesa Sportsmans had quite a bit of loaded ammo. .22, .223, .308, and 9mm handgun ammo. -
MSHA has a website. Check the height on that flag. Might want to call where you are going, most places have a site specific in addition to MSHA regs.

FFL transfer needed from Private Party to my FFL
10Turkeys replied to joohnnybgood's topic in Classified Ads
There is Olsens off from Tatum in Cave Creek. They do transfers from FFL to private party, but not for 15 bucks. -
My bud and I have a leftover 33 tag.

I think this is 20-30 years to late. Just past the Airport heading into town in Cody, Wyo there is a billboard that says Don't California our Cody. I wish there was a sign like that for AZ at every entry point into AZ from Cali.

The first .22 I ever owned. Thought it was marked Marlin/Glenfield, got it at K-Mart, out the door I think it was 38.00 in about 71 or 72. I thought it had a squirrel on one side and a groundhog on the other, but it was a long time ago.

Europtic has them.

FWIW there was a bag of .264 Win Mag brass at the Sportsmans on 54th St this afternoon, if anyone is looking for some.

Question about 308 win and 6.5 creedmoor
10Turkeys replied to maximus's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I think the biggest difference between the 2 is there are no memes for the .308! -
My resolution is to spend more time on the internet, get a couple of post going on a new to me site, then ask for everyone's honeyholes!
-
Other than the paint/decal on the stock, it looks like a typical Boyd's thumbhole stock for a 10-22 if you want a new stock.
-
If you decide to repair it, give this guy a call. I had a wood stock that had 20+ years of dings, scratches and wear. When I got it back it looked new.
-
Where is it cracked and how bad?

I saw a bag of Winchester .243 brass at the Sportsmans on I-17 a few days ago. It was mixed in with some pistol brass. Don't know if it's still there or not.
